Actually, all of the sounds Phantoms have are actual lines sourced from ThoughtDefs at the time!

@specter Hard agree, I did a bit of an anomaly run kind of recently and I think the capturing mechanic would be amazing for the vibe of this.

But as of late, I've been focused on my own gamedev adventures, two jobs, and a baby on the way. I probably won't be coming back to modding, which sucks because now I have the skills I lacked when doing this project. (Art! Hella art!)

@ShunTheWitch please do continue this mod. I’ve been on one hell of a Prey kick lately, and I’d LOVE to see some of the Typhon work their Psi-magic in RimWorld.

@ShunTheWitch absolutely go for it. I'll admit continuing this mod might be a bit complicated due to how I have things set up, but the code and such from the last working release is at this commit

Good luck have fun, probably best to start from scratch, that's what I did.

There's also some unused assets from other contributors and related mods, I'd totally recommend reaching out to them for some things I never got around to implementing, some can be found in the github issues.

Anyway yeah I agree the last update is thematically kinda perfect for this. At this point the project would have to start from scratch or whatever. I honestly wouldn't mind if people reused my assets to rebuild the mod from scratch and handle it, but it's not something I could fund, nor one that I'm really interested in reaching out myself. I don't even actually play Rimworld anymore these days.

The amount of modding I'd need to do to make this game enjoyable to me has left me with the decision that I'm better off just making my own game, so I'm doing that now.

@Caaz Hey I'm a huge Prey fan and loved this mod back in 1.4. I assume you've seen the Anomaly DLC and how perfectly this mod would integrate into it. I understand that other things are taking center-stage in your life right now, so I think you should reach out to a modder you know or something to see if they could take up this project. I know the Vanilla Expanded crew is working on a bunch of Anomaly content, so maybe theme (as if they don't have enough on their plate). You said this mod is open source but I have 0 coding experience except for like a Python class in 8th grade, so I can't do anything here. I would hate to see this mod completely die right before the perfect expansion for it arrived, but life ain't life, I guess.

Alright understood. Just disappointed cause while it never did a whole lot it was always fun after a raid to have a mimic turn into like 10 and then get mowed down by turrets.

@TylerDurden12 It is dead. Granted it's open source, anyone could work on it, I personally do not have the time to invest in it. My career has to come first and unfortunately this project took too much of my time to maintain or work on.

This is a really interesting concept for an enemy and perfect for an horror modlist. I hope you decide to comeback to work on it again at some point.

Ah, @Bacon I apologize, I've had a rough time this year and honestly I don't have much time to work on modding these days. I've had to really focus on my career as of late.

Version 3 on github is mostly an in-progress rewrite, but it's safe to say that that is on hold for the forseeable future. It doesn't have much content, and it's not built the same as previous versions.

I could absolutely keep things up to date if someone wanted to take on the code work, but I myself cannot dedicate time to it.

Wanted to add onto my previous comment. Typhon does not seem to be spawning in events. Tried spawning them in a raid using dev mode to no effect. Mod is a very cool find, will be looking forward to the future update.

Version 2.3 had issues with other mods that had casting such as Dragon's Decent and Rimworld of Magic. Fortunately version 3.0 on github fixed the issue with Dragons Decent, transferred the save over (didn't have any Typhon on the map) and seems to work after a few hours.

I killed two Mimic, kinda. Despite reducing their health to 0%, it was still registered as a pawn, not a corpse. Killing and destroying them with Dev Mode did nothing. Here's my log. https://pastebin.com/wKaW8jAy

i think that one idea about sos2 having floating debris and stuff that have the typhon would be cool, one of the ones that i personally would like more than others, although better to wait for public release of sos2 for 1.4.

The plan for the storyteller is to rate your gameplay's empathy, so if you're cruel with your actions, so will the storyteller. It also ensures a typhon is on the map at all times.

The tricky part has been to get empathy working, was way more of a solid plan before I started trying to implement it.

Yea i remember the mod saying dev in my load order and was wondering about it, never saw any operators but i do agree the storyteller was really quiet with rare events

@Tcgirl8 planned, and even with a development branch working, but blocked currently while I make some development choices.

In order to make the storyteller really matter, I've got to set up more events.

That said, I did accidentally upload the development version for a hot second, so you might've witnessed it (and other features, like operators) before they're ready.

That fix the other day may have broken the entire mod! I've apparently nuked the entire assembly. One moment while I fix that
