Now that the mod is updated, both video and screenshots are taken on Whitaker's Gun Range
Thank empty for this mod. The animations are god-tier. I might use them for a couple of Tokarevs later.

Just go and try the exported mesh as-is without any modifications, you'll see.

Baked normals (both normal maps and vertex normals) are a result of optimization, transfering normals from a high-poly mesh into a low-poly one.
All those "smooth" curves and gradients are caused by that "baking" process, and if you re-smooth the mesh with Edge Split for example - you'll break smoothing and you'll get a mismatch between your mesh and your normal map (despite it looking fine in the viewport).
