Damn, that's awesome. Thank you!

v0.2.1 now adds a chat message listing all the new items that were added to your existing research
thanks to @Gregarius for the suggestion!

Sure, but in a chat message that disappears after a few seconds, or reappears if the users wants by opening chat again.

I had a few hundred items get added after joining a game with Hyper Research and the person had already learned all the things using wood, stone, boreal wood, etc. It was pretty glorious, and only showed up on my screen for a few seconds since it was a chat message. I hit my enter key to open chat and go back to it and check if anything I wanted was there. Pretty useful.

It would probably cause alot of clutter since theres a few thousand items potentially being displayed

I really wish this showed you a list of all the new things you've researched, similar to the Hyper Research mod, or the Recipe Browser chat notification when you click on an enemy in the right sidebar and it posts a chat message with all the drops in the form of icons you can hover your mouse over. Besides that, very useful mod. Did a full playthrough using it with friends and it worked great, thank you.

No, the statement is correct

in the description notes did you mean to say NOT stored for modded items? cause as it is it doesnt make much sense to me

A very good mod for saving the research progression! .w .

thanks for the replies and the really useful mod!

tml handles the "failing gracefully" part, the item will have incomplete or no data in it.
And I checked again regarding "partial research"; this is not the case in regular gameplay, you only store "fully researched items" in the book. The reason modded items get a special handle is because a modder might lower the amount required to research the item in an update, and if you had the mod disabled at some point, this value will carry over and when you use the item again, it will grant you the research if possible
Avohaj 8 Oct, 2022 @ 11:08pm
Does it add up partial researched items or does it just keep the higher between the learner's partial unlocks and the partial unlocks in the book from another player?

Also I noticed another comment about packet size restricting what is possible, could that be a problem if you have a ton of (modded) items researched? Does it fail gracefully (i.e. no crash) if I would reach that limit?
Mickmane 8 Oct, 2022 @ 2:19pm
Oh, I misunderstood. Thanks. :)
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 8 Oct, 2022 @ 2:18pm
this is about modded items. It doesn't for vanilla items last I checked
Mickmane 8 Oct, 2022 @ 2:13pm
It does? Wow, I thought it only shares complete research.
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 8 Oct, 2022 @ 2:12pm
this should work, yes. It if doesn't it's bugged
Avohaj 8 Oct, 2022 @ 12:28pm
how does partial research work I have 2 of 5 of modded item X researched and create the tome and my friend who has 4 of 5 of item X researched uses the tome? Will they still be at 4/5 or at 2/5 or at 5/5 (or 6/5)
Mickmane 4 Apr, 2022 @ 3:46am
Ok. :)

Thanks for your quick replies!
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 4 Apr, 2022 @ 3:45am
I see, still don't think it's a good idea to do this on an item-per-item basis.
Mickmane 4 Apr, 2022 @ 3:41am
Not when we both have not fully researched it. :)
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 4 Apr, 2022 @ 3:40am
in that case you can just create as many black pearls as needed and give them to your friend?
Mickmane 4 Apr, 2022 @ 3:13am
Ah, makes sense. :)

How about a different item for any one single item's research, would have to be somehow picked in game though. (Am I making sense? For example wanting to share research of just black pearls, so would need a menu to pick them to make the item to share just those.)
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 4 Apr, 2022 @ 3:04am
yes, I thought about that, but storing the research count for partly researched vanilla items heavily increases the overhead for multiplayer (the item can store only this much data before the packet limit is reached)
Mickmane 4 Apr, 2022 @ 2:50am
Ok, thanks! :)

It would be convenient if it did include part research, though. Imagine 2 friends both half researching some rare material, or even one of them accidentally researching the last 5 needed items of this resource, while the other could have completed it. Awkward!

Would be nice if they could combine that. :)
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 4 Apr, 2022 @ 12:59am
no, but it does for modded items (since their research status may change as the modder can change the cap themselves)
Mickmane 3 Apr, 2022 @ 6:29pm
Does this also include partly researched items?

Digi62, why not just manually turn it off? (Or disable it from server side.)
Digi62 28 Feb, 2022 @ 5:00am
Can you make a mod to disable god mode? Please
