After downloading this mod I noticed something odd, while the mod does seem to be working fine, I can’t seem to enable or disable the mod, it’s not the end of the world, but it’s pretty weird.

omg there's a whole lot of events, pets, abilities...this is basically an entire dlc! great job!

Very nice. Interestingly complicated!

@Mindtheblob, In order to stop the faces from appearing from my mod, I'd recommend making an aspect that suppresses those features. Look at the Wolf aspect for example and how it does that stops face generation.

I could be wrong, but I think that is one way to do it.

This is really well done. Leveling the skill, multiple dialogues. Yet, not out of balance.

Oops. So somehow I managed to delete an animation script for the fly swarm right before release. Go me. Patched. Getting a fly swarm debuff should now show on enemies and allies.

I released an update with a new special event for hostile site swamps today: A Bogged Odyssey.
The mission victory for the event can also grant a new shoulder (and wing) pet theme: The Pet Pitcher Plant! (For further information, see 2.9 for the event, and 5.1 for the theme in Discussions > Content)
Also added some cosmetic nuances for the Herbling Pouch depending on aspects the hero has obtained (Company Cook, Violire Blossoms etc.)

There was quite a bit to test out and look through, so if you encounter any bugs/issues, notification is always much appreciated!

I'm also adding a balancing discussion thread for feedback.

Thank you for recommendation and feedback Robur Velvetclaw! I'm very happy you've enjoyed it!

Denzarki, yeah the 10 000 faces mod changes how faces are generated so the skin override I have there is not applying. I guess in a world with THAT many faces, even herbling's have faces!
(I might have a look at that mod and see if I can suppress the eye/nose/mouth aspects)

lol are they supposed to not have faces? i have the faces 10,000 mod and it gave the herbling guys faces

Very well done. Tongue in cheek humour, very interesting mechanics. Strongly recommend this mod to all eager to experience a richer storyline than what comes with the vanilla version.

Thank you for quick fix!

Perhaps it is worth asking somebody like Patrick on Discord about why this happens.

(2/2) For a patch, I've outsourced the health and retirement benefit to a separate aspect called "Way of the Herbling", which is now granted with the event, and when equipping the pouch for those who saved it in legacy. I removed the stats from the item, so as not to have a negative effect on the poor Herblings.

Steam Workshop sometimes takes ages to update, so the quickest way is to unsub and resub to get the latest patch.

For herbling heroes already in a campaign, they will sadly miss out on the small stat bonuses until their next campaign. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you all for the nice comments! ^^

(1/2) Thank you so much for this spot Ashtero!

I've located the what's happening of it, but unfortunately I can't work out the WHY.

The reason this happens is the aspect of the item behaves in a volatile manner, sometimes decreasing in value. When the value of the aspect turns negative, the stats also turn negative. Huh. What a mess.

But I can't figure out why. My gut feeling is it has something to do with with the augment having an active ability effect, but at this point I'm just scratching my head, rigorously.

The reason this escaped me in testing is that it resets after reloads (at least for me), and even when I play a full campaign my gaming is so porous I never play a session for more than a few events, so it flew under the radar for me.

Great mod, lore-friendly and adds new mechanics. Played a few campaigns with it and everything worked fine, but in the latest one a strange bug happened.

Instead of providing +0.3 health and +4 retirement age, the herbalist pouch changed stats by -3.6 health, -48 retirement age. When I checked it a bit later, it showed -3.3 health, -44 age, and after some time -3.6, -48 again (note that it means that herbalist pouch was applied -12 or -11 times).

<deleted wrong hypothesis>

Edit: Heroes in legacy have correct stats. But when I started a new campaign with legacy herbalist, by the end of chapter 1 she again had maluses.

Given that out of my four herbalists the first one had 80+ retirement age (she is also the one I started new campaign with), the second was a skeleton, the third retired a bit earlier then expected, and I only noticed this bug for the fourth hero, it is likely unrelated to turtles an have affected all herbalists at various degrees.

Releasing today! All events and abilities have been tested, but there are bound to be some issues, so let me know if something comes up! Typo/unidiomatic language spots are also appreciated, proof-reading multiple personality/relationship dialogue is a nightmare ^^

See Discussions for a more detailed content list.

There's also 15ish minute Youtube vid for the core events and mechanics. Link:
