all countries already have conditions to become arms exporters. most are generic (hasn't capitulated, doesn't have closed economy, etc) some are specific (doesn't have a limiting treaty, or is Ethiopia with On Our Own spirit)

Making equipment come from the stockpile is a bad idea. the AI does not keep stockpiles of equipment in a manner that works for selling arms. The idea of the mod is to help buy specialized equipment. I don't want the buyer to be limited to buying stuff only available in the seller's stockpile, even if they have the tech available. It just wouldn't work in any way.
Most arms exports pre ww2 were done from factory orders, not military stockpiles. these were mostly private ventures, not paid military aid.

Anyway, the most use of the market is pre-ww2 when the markets begin to close. no one has stockpiles at the start of the game since you need to overcome the initial deficient (looking at you, france)

IIRC AI usage is turned off as it is almost impossible to balance. When you have the entire commownealth buying weapons from the UK, it leaves the UK with almost no capability to produce arms themselves. on the flip side, it gives them a huge civilian industry.

I do wish to revisit this in the future but this mod is not currently being worked on, I am busy with another major mod that will likely take up all of my time i set aside for coding for at least a year more.

@testierlime hi, I have lots of college work this month but I'll try to remember to work on that when I get a chance. I had originally removed it because I planned on adding a much better system, but it proved hard to code. I should've just put the old system back in from the get-go. never enjoyable when a dev removes a feature.

Since you can't sell ships in the AAT arms market, you can make a separate mod that only sells ships for player have AAT dlc installed and only wanted ships

hello. While translating your mod, I noticed a slight oddity. 8 countries have lines for the sale of trains, but in total there should be 9, Germany and its trains are missing from the general list. But in the equipment purchase menu, the item with trains appears, but in the form of a line of code.

Thanks TibViking. Sadly this mod wasnt big enough to garner dev attention, bigger mods like KR and RT56 do get special treatment from the devs, like for example getting DLCs early in order to update their mods on time (which makes sense).

You can still play this mod in it's current version, It should be working fine. although AI use and some specific equipments are not implemented yet, those will be added once I have time

I made that comment at the dev corner I was fucking Pissed that Maximus Got no credit whatsoever and Paradox stole his idea without consulting him is what bothered me

before aat released i played this mod a shit ton and i still will once Maximus Get's back into this mod

There is one thing i hate in this world is someone stealing someone elses ideas

(And Paradox forgets one thing that made HOI4 So popular Is It's modding community, without we all would not be here today)

I felt annoyed yes, but nothing I can do about it. At the very least, my mod will live forever in the long list of mods paradox interactive has turned into DLCs. (prison architect is a great example of this).

A developer did comment on this page after the Dev Corner got some feedback about the DLC being very similar to my mod. They said they had never seen the mod before but complimented what I did, so there's that atleast.

the options for AI are holdovers from the previous version that had a primitive AI usage. I removed it because it wasnt working as intended, the commonwealth had super strong from UK imports.

the thumbnails are different because they're from the previous version. The 2nd line of the mod description mentions that "the screenshots presented above are obsolete. the new mod uses much better UI."

didn't bother updating steam because very few new people are seeing this page, and updating screenshots on steam is super primitive and annoying for no reason.

This mod is still useful. For example, I can use it to buy rifles from USSR when playing PRC with closed economy at the beginning.:steamthumbsup:

@doggo selling equipment as the player (and the AI purchasing from others) is currently not implemented.

@gustav @james i'll add battleships and carriers next update alongside selling and AI, but this might not be for a very long time. I have busy schoolwork and other promises for my other mod

Battleships and carriers would be cool to add. Very awesome mod. Would there be an option to possibly sell ships to another nation that you want to have a strong navy?

Definitely add battleships and carriers. All of the battleships that are in the South American fleets were built by the British or US. The Ottomans bought foreign ships, including some of the South American ships, prior to WWI. Historically only major powers like Austria Hungary, Italy, France, Great Britain, the US, Japan, Russia, and Germany built battleships because they were a huge investment in resources and required very specialized industries and knowledge of production techniques.

there's already subs, light cruisers, heavy cruisers from major powers, as well as midget subs, cruiser subs, and torpedo cruisers if Japan, France, or Italy have them. not sure what else i could add (IMO battleships and carriers are too unrealistic)

soo the new arms market mechanic is cool and all, but you cant buy ships, so i think this mod is not obsolete, and you should maybe add different ship types to buy? thats what i would like to see atleast.

@toby_2021 the arms market will still work without the TfV DLC, it just won't make the selling countries get factories as payment - I think. I still havent tested it to see what happens.

Making a non-DLC arms market is possible (just a matter of swapping factory donations with consumer goods) but I won't be doing so, it would just be another mod for me to maintain. sorry toby
