great work! :) I never tried to come off as rude or anything just must of read over it or something :)
Yes you can merge rotors if you use piston and push rotor to the free block space on current grid.
Small and Large grid use different sale and you can not merge large block with small one.
It is like drawing boxes on blue paper and red paper.
Sure you can merge small block arm if block space (gap) is more than one large block space (5x5x5m).
This mod just make rotor to be 2 block based so you can "merge" rotor part and stator part in small 2 block space without making merge forever.
Lastly em.. if you not like it just ignore it... somebody else might find this mod helpfull.
we've been using merge blocks with Rotors for years.
I am not exactly sure what your trying to achieve with this mod specifically? (not bashing, merely questioning)
KEEN is going to add a sub grid patch so once more ...
your mod should be part of the vanilla game!
KeeN only add demanded popular stuff.
This mod is for people that like to use subgrids but need them to be secured properly.
Enjoy this mod/hack while it works.
SE have 1x1 small merge block and yes will work.
As this rotor is 1x1x2 block then it can be used with any merge block (MOD) in workshop.
This mod is just copy of base game Rotor_block with only 3 changes:
1. The name of block and head (rotating part) for compatibility with default one.
2. Changed value that tell rotor body what "Head" to add on build or by cliking "add head" button.
3. Changed "offset" of head (wheel) as base game rotor head have "attach" point in diffferent place. (known bug if you try attach this wheel to base game rotor).
"That script doesn't work with this rotor"
Do you know what script that is? Try your script with other custom made Workshop rotors.
If not work with other rotor mods mostly your script "may" search only for Large_Rotor / Small_Rotor from base game and not "Rotor group" that is base group for all rotors in SE.
Q: Is there a way to increase its torque?
A: Yes is but i not touch that value as it is the same as base game rotor have and may add more issues than solve (klang).
Well "hinge block" was on workshop about 2-3 years for KEEN make built-in version and this is nothing "special" compared to mods on workshop.
Enjoy while this "trick" works.... KEEN tend to destroy mods like this with big "updates".
