I did try to make CKF:SF glass parts provide greenhouse, a year ago. Unfortunately, attempting to change the values that control that at runtime causes the game to crash. I tried multiple ways, always crashes. Game doesn't like it, so, can't do it.

It's also hard to change the location of meshes on structures that are live and have been built by players already. I know, because I actually changed the setup of my ceilings after people had built with them, and it took a significant amount of coding to reposition them so people didn't have to pick them up and re-place. I doubt Exile would ever be interested in doing that, if he ever even came back to mod again.

@Stark I'm well aware of the mesh setup in CKF ceilings. It's something I can't fix, since I am not the maker of CKF.

What I mean when I say "Engine Issue" is that if the actor origins of any two structures get too close to each other, they won't snap, period, unless one is meant to replace the other. So I can't lower the snap points to make things like the S+ AutoCrafter sit flush on top of CKF ceilings because the origin of the AutoCrafter is right at the bottom of the mesh, and the CKF ceiling origin is too high (right in the middle of the ceiling if I recall correctly. They're within 10 units of each other, which is the limit before the snap system decides it shouldn't snap there. I just didn't feel like explaining all that to non-modders in my original discussion.

I have one tiny request.... Is it possible to make CFK:SF glass act like greenhouse glass? If it's not or too much hassle, it worries. Just love the look of the SF for an industrial styled greenhouse

@Gimilkhad, regarding your known issue of floating S+ items on CKF ceilings; This is not an engine issue, but rather a CKF issue with the mesh.

Get any wall, make it three wide, snap a CKF keep ceiling to one wall, regular metal ceiling to the second, and S+ metal ceiling to a third.
You'll see that the normal and S+ version lines up, where the CKF ceiling will have a vertical offset. You will also observe that the center of the CKF ceiling lines up exactly with the bottom part of the two other ceilings. An example can be seen here: https://i.imgur.com/SjUjF9W.jpg

This is most likely because of the anchor point of the CKF ceiling being centered to the object, rather than placed at the bottom of the object. This can easily be fixed by adjusting the original FBX/OBJ file for the ceiling.

Triangle foundations have never stacked on square foundations in any structure mod I know of.

The issue you're describing with the triangle foundations not placing reliably sounds like you might not have SnapFixer installed properly. One of the things it is specifically made to do is to fix that issue with CKFR and CKF:SF triangle foundations, because without SnapFixer they are definitely buggy in that way you just described.

So just installed the mod and am working mostly with CKFR foundations, and am finding the triangle foundations will no longer snap ontop of their square counterparts. I am now forced to build overlapping triangle foundations from the ground level up through to where I originally wanted it to be.

Also, square foundations seem to have no snapping issues, but the triangles seem to be severely buggy in their placement as a whole now. Oftentimes, it'll show as placeable, but you can click endlessly with nothing getting placed. Other common issue I'm running into is flickering, where it'll say buildable for just a moment for flickering off, then back to buildable, etc.

The author of Prehistoric Structures wrote, "This mod is finished" and seems to wash their hands of it. However, some recent comments talk of having trouble getting certain parts to line up and snap. In particular, some seem unable to place any triangle sloped roof...

Is there any way to toggle snaps off with this mod, or blacklist specific structures?
I ask because I'm noticing certain mod items are now snapping to foundations where they didn't before, specifically ECO's various water producing structures, because I guess the game considers them a pipe item, and it's attempting to snap them to foundations and walls.

There is no height difference. The size issue is with the horizontal. The width of foundations, ceilings, etc. That is what the ini fixes. It isn’t perceptible until you try to build over a distance of a few foundations, mixing with…just look at the pictures on this page, it demonstrates more clearly than I can explain with words.

You can mix and match Arkitect Structures and CKFR without this mod. Install Snap Fixer if you want “unofficial” snap fixes for CKFR, and stuff like crop plots and dedicated storages from S+ to snap to CKF (and eventually my own) foundations and ceilings.

Planning to do an update to SnapFixer soon, maybe this weekend or next week, to add support for my new structure mods. This will allow S+ crop plots, dedi storage, etc to snap to my foundations and ceilings. If there’s time I will also look at Ozocraft support, like someone suggested before

Today I found out that Eco has left the modding, because toxic people harass her day in and out with negativity about her mods and it has broken her. It makes me sad to hear and I hope she gets better soon.

I just wanted to say that me, my brother and nephew love and appreciate ALL the work you do for the modding community for Ark. I wish more people would tell all of you modders that what you are doing is great! And not complain and bitch about things you get for free.

As for working with vanilla structures, no, I don’t touch them. Grebog has a mod that edits vanilla snaps and I didn’t want to do anything that would conflict.

Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be able to get internal pipes and wires to snap to CKF parts properly. There is too much custom logic going on in S+, and code is one thing that can’t be externally altered. For example the little icons that are displayed on a structure that show when it has an internal part in it, and the custom menu wheel option that lets you remove the parts, is all custom graphed in S+ foundations and function libraries.

Eddychomps said he tried to make them work with his Clean Metal mod and they caused crashing anytime you looked at them. So there’s that, too.

Any chance you can fix the CKF legacy foundations and make them stackable? Or is there an .ini setting to enable them to be stackable. Or at least have it to they always align with neighboring foundations?

Sometimes when stacking certain S+ structures (air conditioners, chibi displays, storage boxes, etc) the green placement ghost will appear in the correct place but the structure will actually end up placed on the floor. Will this mod fix that issue?

Hi Nemmo,

Yes, I can take a look at it. It looks like a very nice structure mod, can't believe I've never seen it before.

I am open to suggestions for any other outdated structure mods that need "S+" snap support, or have broken snaps, or need other structure-related bug fixes. Keep in mind I will only work on mods that seem abandoned (no update in 2+ years, mod author giving no sign of still working on it, or clearly stating that it's discontinued). And there are certain kinds of bugs that will likely not be fixable from my end.
