:steamhappy:Wow, the faces are so BEAUTIFUL with this mod, now every time I see the vanilla version of the faces, it makes me feel so uncomfortable just looking at them, I can't play without this mod.:steamhappy:

@lindest I thank you. It was not my intention to cause you stress or duress in any way. I was perplexed and just needed clarification. I thank you once again for your patience.

@The Desert Fox
To be clear as I can, FLE contains the same textures as standard FL, so running both in a modlist is redundant. That is to say-- choose one set.

If you were using a vanilla or vanilla-like gene setup, FL would be all you need. FLE needs the coding from EPE or a mod running EPE-like code to show these extra textures, so choose FLE when you use mods like that.

AGOT runs on an EPE-like code, and FLE covers most of their textures. AGOT also has a few unique complexions not yet covered by FLE.
The Desert Fox 22 Feb @ 4:15am
"I would consider the FLE series 98% compatible with AGOT. Currently, AGOT and EPE are structured in the same fashion and use the same naming conventions. AGOT has a few extra unique textures. I could patch that in a future update, if there is interest."

Do you mean to say that this mod is redundant?
The Desert Fox 22 Feb @ 4:14am
Should your subscribers use this mod over the original fair ladies/fair lords, or only use this one when also using EPE? I ask as I had intended to use fair ladies/fair lords expanded by themselves.

So this is AGOT friendly? Didn't AGOT cannibalize most of EPE?
The Desert Fox 5 Feb @ 8:55am
Please your pardon if you have already answered this, as it has already no doubt been asked to death. I am however slightly perplexed. This should go below EPE obviously, but I'm not sure if I should place it above CFP + EPE Compatibility Patch?

Updated for 1.9* I have hopefully fixed the issue that some users experienced with the body textures; however I cannot completely test this until EPE updates.

I have better luck putting this near the bottom only atop UI mods

@Calligramien
goddam I wish steam woudl let us edit our comments.

I used FLE in those comments to refer to both Fair Lords Expanded and Fair Ladies Expanded, so to be clear you copy the male body models to the Fair Lords Expanded mod and the female bodies to the Fair Ladies Expanded mod

Hope that helps. If you really struggle to set it up the way I outlined, let me know and I'll try to create a small mod for you to do the same thing.

Unfortunately the personal mod I'm using to fix the issue is part of a much larger personal mod so I can't just give yo that one.
Lost Nomad 5 Mar, 2023 @ 7:51pm
@Calligramien
So without actually creating a patch all I can suggest you do is first pick the renderer that shows your characters, with waxy bodies.

Then copy the male_body_properties.dds, male_body_diffuse.dds and boy_body_diffuse.dds files from the gfx/models/portraits/male_body folder in the EPE mod to the same directory in the FLE mod.

Then copy the female_body_properties.dds, female_body_diffuse.dds and girl_body_diffuse.dds files from the gfx/models/portraits/female_body folder in the EPE mod to the same directory in the FLE mod.

But every time either mod updates you will have to do the same thing again.
Lost Nomad 5 Mar, 2023 @ 7:46pm
@Calligramien
The waxy bodies and fucked complexions are two pdox bugs fighting each other here.

Firstly I run on Linux so ymmv
Secondly I run cfp + epe + FLE
Thirdly there are two renderers I can use on Linux, OpenGL and Vulkan

Vulkan = removes waxy bodies but then I cannot see characters unless I delete the epe FX folder which then loses complexions

OpenGL = characters are visible but then I have waxy bodies

So I had to create a patch which overwrites the FLE body models with the ones from epe. It is the only way I can have complexions and have no waxy bodies.
porkchop 23 Feb, 2023 @ 6:04am
Me too. I was back to the game after a while and found all my chars with pitch black bodies and normal head and neck.I tried to disable various mods and found out that this one or Fair Ladies Expanded are the culprits! Pity, I love these mods
Water Monkey 21 Feb, 2023 @ 5:40pm
I am also experiencing the issue with black textures
Calligramien 1 Feb, 2023 @ 6:55am
@Lost Nomad - May I ask you how did you manage to fix the graphic problem? I realise that I have exactly the same problem as you, all the characters have a black waxy bodies (I use DX11).

@xyseven77 I have the exact problem as you. I have to choose between the black bodies or invisible characters with Vulkan.

I really hope I can find a solution because I can't play without these mods, the characters all look awful...
jleist34 26 Jan, 2023 @ 5:42pm
I'm running into the same texture bug on the native build of Linux. I haven't tried running it in Proton for a while, as that comes with performance issues, but I don't recall ever encountering the issue before recently switching back to the native version.
xyseven77 15 Jan, 2023 @ 4:57am
Well, looks like right now I can choose between DX11 which gives me the black bodies or Vulkan which removes ALL character models completely...
Lost Nomad 4 Dec, 2022 @ 4:59am
Okay I can confirm now that FLE works perfectly all the way into a MB+ game, great to have the mods back in my games

So it was caused by Paradox releasing game code that relied on a launcher update to enable the Vulkan renderer which they did not release until today.

I seriously doubt Paradox will ever be able to release code without fucking up along the way.
Lost Nomad 4 Dec, 2022 @ 12:52am
Just wanted to report back to you.

I've just had a launcher update that has forced me to pick Vulkan as the renderer, which I thought they were using anyway, but now when I use that playset I posted earlier the models are all as expected, i.e. no black bodies  :steamhappy:

I'll check with the full playset later, but it will take a while because the launcher update wiped out all my playsets  I just despair over pdox dev competence at times, actuallly most of the time.

So I'll let you know if my full mb+ playset works later.
Lost Nomad 3 Dec, 2022 @ 6:10pm
That's somewhat odd. I love the FLE mods, been using them since they came out but now I can't use them at all.

I wonder if it has something to do with the fact I play on linux not windows, so there's a driver or compositing issue or something like that.
lindest  [author] 3 Dec, 2022 @ 1:19pm
@Lost Nomad - Neither myself nor my tester could replicate your problem. This was tested by itself and with the mod list you provided.

@everyone CK3 1.8 is having problems correctly displaying the variety of complexions, as has been reported to PDX.
Lost Nomad 3 Dec, 2022 @ 8:35am
One other thing that confuses me is that this effect on one of my characters only appeared while they were < 18 years old. As soon as they turned 18 the body went to what I expected it to be.

The character is a Mongol female.
Lost Nomad 3 Dec, 2022 @ 8:30am
To be clear I just unsubbed and re-subbed to the FLE mods for a final test before reporting this issue here.
Lost Nomad 3 Dec, 2022 @ 8:26am
This mod and Fair Ladies Expanded is causing characters to have black waxy bodies.

It has taken me literally ages to finally pinpoint this issue to the two FLE mods.

My final test playset consists of
cfp
epe
cfp + epe compatch
fair lords expanded
fair ladies expanded
fbs

When I remove the two FLE mods my characters are as expected, i.e. caucasian, asian, negro.

Load after EPE. This version now includes a matching body texture and can be used as a vanilla replacer.

@hyoukasa If you are using EPE, use this version. If you are not using EPE, use the original version. Thanks!
hyoukasa 7 Jun, 2022 @ 5:05pm
We need to have both mods the original and the expanded?
