To be clear as I can, FLE contains the same textures as standard FL, so running both in a modlist is redundant. That is to say-- choose one set.
If you were using a vanilla or vanilla-like gene setup, FL would be all you need. FLE needs the coding from EPE or a mod running EPE-like code to show these extra textures, so choose FLE when you use mods like that.
AGOT runs on an EPE-like code, and FLE covers most of their textures. AGOT also has a few unique complexions not yet covered by FLE.
Do you mean to say that this mod is redundant?

goddam I wish steam woudl let us edit our comments.
I used FLE in those comments to refer to both Fair Lords Expanded and Fair Ladies Expanded, so to be clear you copy the male body models to the Fair Lords Expanded mod and the female bodies to the Fair Ladies Expanded mod
Hope that helps. If you really struggle to set it up the way I outlined, let me know and I'll try to create a small mod for you to do the same thing.
Unfortunately the personal mod I'm using to fix the issue is part of a much larger personal mod so I can't just give yo that one.
So without actually creating a patch all I can suggest you do is first pick the renderer that shows your characters, with waxy bodies.
Then copy the male_body_properties.dds, male_body_diffuse.dds and boy_body_diffuse.dds files from the gfx/models/portraits/male_body folder in the EPE mod to the same directory in the FLE mod.
Then copy the female_body_properties.dds, female_body_diffuse.dds and girl_body_diffuse.dds files from the gfx/models/portraits/female_body folder in the EPE mod to the same directory in the FLE mod.
But every time either mod updates you will have to do the same thing again.
The waxy bodies and fucked complexions are two pdox bugs fighting each other here.
Firstly I run on Linux so ymmv
Secondly I run cfp + epe + FLE
Thirdly there are two renderers I can use on Linux, OpenGL and Vulkan
Vulkan = removes waxy bodies but then I cannot see characters unless I delete the epe FX folder which then loses complexions
OpenGL = characters are visible but then I have waxy bodies
So I had to create a patch which overwrites the FLE body models with the ones from epe. It is the only way I can have complexions and have no waxy bodies.
@xyseven77 I have the exact problem as you. I have to choose between the black bodies or invisible characters with Vulkan.
I really hope I can find a solution because I can't play without these mods, the characters all look awful...
So it was caused by Paradox releasing game code that relied on a launcher update to enable the Vulkan renderer which they did not release until today.
I seriously doubt Paradox will ever be able to release code without fucking up along the way.
I've just had a launcher update that has forced me to pick Vulkan as the renderer, which I thought they were using anyway, but now when I use that playset I posted earlier the models are all as expected, i.e. no black bodies
I'll check with the full playset later, but it will take a while because the launcher update wiped out all my playsets
So I'll let you know if my full mb+ playset works later.
I wonder if it has something to do with the fact I play on linux not windows, so there's a driver or compositing issue or something like that.
@everyone CK3 1.8 is having problems correctly displaying the variety of complexions, as has been reported to PDX.
The character is a Mongol female.
It has taken me literally ages to finally pinpoint this issue to the two FLE mods.
My final test playset consists of
cfp
epe
cfp + epe compatch
fair lords expanded
fair ladies expanded
fbs
When I remove the two FLE mods my characters are as expected, i.e. caucasian, asian, negro.
Load after EPE. This version now includes a matching body texture and can be used as a vanilla replacer.
