I think I found the mod conflict: zBugFixes also has a setting, simply change PutInInvFix=2 or PutInInvFix=1 to PutInInvFix=0 in Gothic.ini, and Torches should no longer disappear from your inventory when using this mod :)

Strange, while this works flawlessly in Gothic 2, in Gothic 1 all this does is it causes a Torch in my inventory to disappear, each time I press the Torch Hotkey (T)

@big Hat arxm: There are two standard keys. Ich don't remember which, but take a look into the controls. You should see there an option like "equip torch". There you can also bind new keys

do i have to bind a key or is there a default to equip and unequip the torch?

Nice quality of life change. The torches are no longer lit in the inventory.
