Merry Christmas and Happy New Year out there! :)
Take care,
Teal
So, now I have to go back in and put the requirements back in. So player will need books to produce a certain level of blade, ancient books to produce a higher level and AI Cores to produce the highest. (I think Edgewalkers need AI Cores too, but will double check) Anyway, I am close to finishing and should be done soon. I won't say a few days, because that didn't prove true the first time, but we are almost there.
:)
Take care and I hope to post something soon.
Teal
Thanks for the patience.
Teal
I'll let you know what happens and thank you for the feedback. Take care and be back tomorrow.
Teal
I've never seen what I think you're talking about, skins made from a smiting bench that are random colors or mixed with other textures
So What I think I am seeing is a progression from lousy fabricator to a more skilled fabricator and a color change as the models go up.
I think what is going to happen is eventually the character will get to Hung model quality and the colors will reflect that.
Also, I am assuming at some point the Wolvern blades will become available. Perhaps when I get to Hung and can make the Damascus blades with some proficiency. :)
Anyway, I will try to verify this and if so, then in a day or two, I can release the patch to your mod, knowing that the crafting works. :)

Okay, think I am understanding what is going on now. I have to verify this with a wiki, but I went into the hung smithing research list and saw the 7 5 and 5 5 available and override levels for the Damascus and the Wolven blades.
I kept making weapons, guardless katana's and planks, a moon cleaver and a fragment axe and noticed the skill level on my character going up as I kept making weapons.
Character has made about 6 weapons now and is at 21 skill level. Also, model jumped to Old Fitted Blade from Rusted Junk. And the color changed to blue with a trace of orange. :)
Second problem is the Damascus blades, a plank and guardless katana are orangey brown, instead of the silver metal-ish that the pictures on your page show them.
I have started twice, thinking I had referenced the wrong sets of textures, but re-checked and they refer to the correct folders in your mod that hold the textures. I am a little at a loss as to how to proceed from here.
How to find the Wolvern version? And how to get the correct colors?
I thought perhaps my resolution in game was low and not displaying properly, but when I check the in-game settings, it looks okay. I run no color presets or anything like that, just the game on an HP all-in-one with a Ryzen 3 CPU and AMD Radeon GPU. Which I think should give me standard resolutions and colors.
Any ideas as to what I am overlooking or missing?
Thanks,
Teal
Okay, followup, I've been at this a few days. I haven't done weapon crafting except a little, so this was a learning experience. I am referencing the dds textures that are in your mod, and putting them in the advanced grade and advanced smithing benches. I listed them as 4 5 and 5 5 for the appear and override levels (which I don't quite understand) When I go into the game and build the bench I get a workbench 3 ( I have researched everything all the way to level 6 at the end of level 5.
My problem is two things,
The Damascus blades are the only ones that appear. No Wolven versions (I think this has something to do with the appearance repetition, but I don't know what to do about it if I have completed all the research.
But does the NPC's really buy and use such things? I thought their buying was to support player outposts and that the vendors were there for players buying and selling. The NPC's just seem to get what they have via the game lists. But I am guessing. Anyway, I agree with your trying to keep the rarity of the famous blades intact. :)
Thanks very much again,
Teal
I would need two things in order to go forward, permission from Trinity to make the patch and post it, and of course to see if I can work out adding it to the advanced weapons crafting list.
I was able to make a start and have the character start with the damascus blade and a wolven texture on a guardless katana. But that start bypasses the research by enabling the weapons from the start, which I didn't think Trinity or people in general would appreciate. So, getting the crafting to work is the best option.
Please let me know how to proceed. Appreciate the time and very beautiful blades by the way, :)
Teal
But if someone comes along before I get back that could work for you too.
You would just get an answer quicker. :)
