@Famrir mind that there is no affiliation with the THQ fixes. Please find the fixes in the changelog at g1cp.org . In the G1CP the new-fence-quest is only available if Mordrag was defeated or killed (that is the addition). Logically and based on semantics from the scripts, the quest should not be available if Mordrag was escorted.

from THQ fixes- - The quest "New Fence for Fisk" will trigger even if Mordrag is killed or taken to the New Camp.

Had to disable G1CP so i can do both Mordrag escort quest to New Camp and New fence for Fisk,otherwise with G1CP the escort quest option is not showing.Only mods used are Ninja and G1CP.

@Rein Steep, you can disable individual fixes using the Gothic.ini. First, find the Fix-ID in the changelog at g1cp.org and then append it to the end of the line "disabled=" below "[G1CP]", e.g. "disabled=11".

"The player can no longer bypass NPCs that are guarding a passage by entering combat mode.
The player character no longer receives Experience once again when killing an NPC with a ranged weapon after previously having knocked them down."

Does this patch also "patches" the good ol' bu - I mean feature for falling safely by defending or side stepping?
Could you perhaps pls provide a guidelines how to get these "bugs" back in the game?
Also, is it possible this patch atlers jumping - meaning the jump animation now stops the movement forward a little bit.

I've noticed if that bug is encountered all I had to do was reload save. It seems to be working as it should be but I will look up for more way to solve it.

Yes, for sure. I will try to check what is messing up. I've got zUtilities, Union Advanced Inventory, Quick Loot, zTorchControl, zMiscUtils, AIUpscaledFaces, Union Thief Helper, D3D11, G1 Community Patch, Bloodsplats and of course Union and Ninja. Sometimes if I spoke to them they are talking to me back, then I'm trying do it one more time - its working. But sometimes if I'm not interacting with them for a long time something is messing up.

@Vitoox3 We heard about that at some other point, but could never reproduce it. It might be due to a collision with another mod. If you happen to figure out what combination of mods that might be, please let us know. That could help to fix the bug - IF the G1CP is responsible.

Do you guys encounter such pissing bug like you can' talk to NPC that are doing some tasks? Like I can't talk to Saturas or Riordian in New Camp if they are reading something or whatever. I don't know if that is connected with this patch exactly or any other mod is making my game less playable.

@undead_nyashka The patch is still in active development, but unfortunately it is time intensive and there are currently other priorities. Such a pity that this patch is no longer updated. While there are a lot of good fixes, there is still some stuff left like floating objects in different places and a few critical story-related issues, like being able to say to Saturas that Nefarius told you to take the Water Mage robes even if you aren't a mage at all and never talked to Nefarius.

The Old Mine stays open even after it "collapses" - the winch at the entrance is stuck as it's supposed to be, but the gate itself remains open and you can enter the mine and see that everyone inside is still alive, but hostile. It's a very old bug i remember encountering back in 2000s when I played the game for the first time. Surprised this patch didn't adress it.

@Dark3rThanBlack This is probably fixable! If you are willing to work with us, we can find the cause of the issue. As this is not a common or known problem, it might be a conflict with other mods or tools installed. If you like, you could provide us with a list of your installed mods and we can have a look.

This freezes the game mid conversation often. I had to uninstall. Not good.

Either union patch or this one messed with agro of enemies and the predators walking to you so you can pet them (without running the last metters), Also some dialogs were off (before I killed Gomez I asked him to join instead of the usual dialog),

Thanks. Generally, the G1CP is conceptualized with compatibility in mind. Before applying any fix, there is a series of checks to confirm that the problem is as expected to ensure that a fix is only applied when necessary and to not break something where a mod or other tool has already addressed an issue. In this case, the fix regarding the pillar is not applied, because the pillar is not found as expected. When I find the time, I can did deeper to find, what exactly is amiss, but for the time being, everything is as it's supposed to be: G1CP does not fix an issue that is not found as expected.

I have several plugins (extended statistic, advanced inventory, zBugFixes and bunch of ninja stuff).
However i tested it on its own. So just Ninja and Community worked.
Ninja, Community with Union didnt. All are from here (workshop)

That's a good catch. Thanks for reporting this. It had worked in conjunction with Union during our implementing and testing the pillar fix in 2021. This must be due to recent changes in Union (recent as in: last months to years). Is there any Union plugin that you play with?

I want to ask about compatibility with union.
I cannot verify more problems, but i found the fix for column in the monastery didnt work. After some testing i figured out that if i disabled union, it works fine.
Presumably then Union causes problems with this.

The thing is on github of this patch its recommended to play with union.
Any ideas?

The G1CP performs minimal changes in story and content only. It has no effect on if/how Gothic is running on modern systems. It's difficult to give detailed support through this comment section. How do the crashes manifest themselves - are there error messages, access violations or other information that you could share?

If I just want to play the original game in 4k on Windows 11, what exactly do I have to do? Launch the game with the workshop launcher and have Union enabled? Do I need Ninja and the Community Patch?
I'm asking because I had Ninja, Union and the Community Patch in the Workshop Launcher enabled and the game started crashing shortly after I arrived at the old camp. Also saves stopped having preview images. If I load these saves it crashes very quickly now.

i just tried similar looking bandaid patch for gothic 2 but it added some questionable changes like delay on spell casting which ruins spamming, delivery boy npc who is clearly cut content and not a glitch, ai change for summond demons, double damage to flying enemies from lightning spells (what is this, pokemon?) and did something weird with stopping animation that makes controled movement funky. i was worried if this patch gonna have something bizzare too.

Since the G1CP does not change any or add new content and really only addresses bugs, I would recommend using it. I see no benefit in experiencing bugs haha

i've played gothic 2 over 100 of times but never actually finished gothic 1 fully even once. do you guys recommend this patch on a first try, or should i experience the game in its original buggy state first?

One thing I dont like about the CP is that you cant become A 2-hand sword weilding mage. But, its for the better. Its an exploit. It does prevent Gorn from bugging out in the free mine though. Cant remember if "In Extremo" is put back in. I always thought you had to start A new game, when using the CP. I will install after my training.
If anyone wants to know how to do this exploit:
After killing the crawler queen, talk to Thorus, tell him you want to be A mage, talk to Milton, talk to Corristo, he will go up stairs, go back to Thorus, tell him you want to be A guard, learn 2-handed, talk to Scorpio, learn crossbow. talk to Stone, talk to Corristo.
Of course you cant do this with the CP. Install it after.

Hello there :D

I've installed this patch and started a new game, the quest New Soulrs of the Brotherhood seems bugged

I've talked with Dusty in the Old Camp to start the quest

Went to the Sect Camp and spoken with Melvin

returned back and option "I was in the Sect Camp and met Melvin"
spoken with Dusty he speaks about the 100 ore to bribe the guards

No option is available after about giving him the 100 ores, just "END"

@oldboy_ First off, congrats on buying such a good game! I hope you'll have a lot of fun. Despite what many people say, in my opinion Gothic works quite well out of the box. This patch right here does fix a few issues here and there and does not change any story or mechanical elements. I would say you can install this patch safely without losing any of the original feel and without the risk of breaking anything. The great thing is: If you ever change your mind you can always remove this patch without any repercussion and continue playing your saved games. Likewise, you can (re-)add this patch at any time later on.

"Fisk's quest "New Fence for Fisk" is now available regardless of how the quest "Thorus' Quest" is (successfully) completed.". This one doesn't work. I went with Mordrasg to the NC and Fisk didn't start this quest. I had to turn off this mod and beat Mordrag to obtain this quest.
