Something like this would be perfect for IE. Making factions like Naggarond, Eataine, Hexoatl, Reikland, Sylvania, Karaz-a-Karak, Goldtooth, Grimgors Aardboys, Khemri, Couronne, Disciples of Hashut, Clan Skryre, Warhost of the Apocalypse etcetc have more bonuses so that you end up with "lore friendly" great empires that make abit more sense.

A blanket potential increase for major IE factions would be great. Right now there's mods just to increase EVERYONE'S potential, which is kinda nice but then the broken chainz end up becoming a consistent superpower just because they start the game with like 7 settlements. I prefer how WH2 started with major powers having a stronger potential spike over minors for X amount of turns, like 20 iirc, before flattening it out.

@TruthWarrior115 All Major Factions of 1, 2, and 3 are treated as Major Factions in IE as well. However, unlike ROC, which has additional potential depending on difficulty, there is almost no additional potential depending on difficulty in IE except for a small number of cases.
It's not that CA has done anything particularly wrong with IE's potential. I'm just considering giving it additional difficulty potential in IE as well.

If I may ask, can this be added mid-campaign, and do you believe it will play nice with mods that add new legendary factions to the chaos realms like Mixu's Legendary Lords and the Legendary Characters mod?

I apologize for the late mod update.

I was busy with my studies at the end of last year and at the beginning of this year I couldn't focus on modding due to my military duty.

Would love to see something like this brought to IE if you end up with the time. It's really disappointing playing as Archaon or Be'lakor and finally bringing your Tier 3 doomstacks down to Empire territory at like turn 50-75 only to find the empire has been completely decimated by Festus and the Vampire Counts. I want an epic face off against Karl Franz!!

I will not update this mod until February 2023. The reason is that, first of all, the demand for ROC-only mods will drop as everyone mostly enjoys IE campaigns. The second reason is that I've been busy with my studies, so it's hard to update every time a new version of the game comes out. However, after February, if I become more relaxed, there is a plan to expand the mod to modify IE Potentials. So this mod will no longer be updated until February 2023. But if you're not using the Overhaul mod, it won't crash, so it's ok to apply the mod even if it's marked as outdated.

@Skragglenuts There is a number that determines the strength of a faction, and it is called a potential. This mod adjusts the additionally determined potential depending on the difficulty level to strengthen the factions that are Major Factions in IE but Minor Factions in ROC to make them more challenging when facing them, and more helpful when allying with them.

So I tested it, I'm pretty sure it's working when you apply the faction potential buffs to the IE campaign key. So instead of wh3_main_chaos, you'd apply it to wh3_main_combi.

I also think that they altered the actual difficulty modifiers related to faction potential at least in IE. In RoC, if you gave a faction +200 FP, they'd pretty much immediately rocket to number 1 power within a turn or two. If you gave them -200 FP, they'd plummet to last within a turn or two. In IE, +200 seems to give them a much much slower increase in power, but it does seem like they do get a boost on top of the basic campaign potential modifier each race gets.

Is this mod needed for IE (or warhammer 3 for that matter) anymore? It seems like most of the major factions feel plenty powerful this time around versus TWH2 on the IE map

yea, that's what I noticed too. Although there are a couple of entries that I don't recall for RoC.

Their campaign key is wh3_main_combi. I don't remember that from before, and the player faction is wh2_main_hef_order_of_loremasters. Which tells me that is a difficulty modifier for immortal empires. So, I'm guessing we can probably handicap the AI still by adding entries using that campaign key.

When I checked the packfile, it seems that the additional potential according to the difficulty exists only for ROC and not in IE.

Can you point me to the table in the pack files that sets faction potential for majors? It's not in the same place for ROC it seems. The faction potential overrides table doesn't seem to have really any of the WH2 or WH1 factions in it. Or, if I wanted to directly handicap specific factions, I'd add them to that table with the IE campaign as opposed to the roc?

You have no reason to use this mod in IE. This is because in IE, past major factions are properly treated as major factions.

This mod doesn't even fix the passive nature of minor factions. And considering that some people who use the mod say that the empire is getting too strong, and others like you say that the empire is still weak, it is expected that the variable depending on the difficulty is large.

Hey, I´m sitting in my Cathey campaign for 110 rounds now, and all empire factions have like 3 settlements for like 50 rounds or more, r u sure this mod actually works ? I instaleld the mod befor I startet the campaign!
Note: the dwarf actually expend quit well ...
