No, sorry I don't plan on making a military version off this. I'll definitely make some military hovercrafts in the future though.

I'm really happy to hear that. People who pilot hovercrafts of this size IRL require a lot of training and simulation runs so it's normal to struggle with the controls at first. I also struggled a little with the controls on its first test flight but the learning process also makes this creation unique.

You have to turn on the battery relay with the switch overhead as I've mentioned in the Start-up procedure

I did actually try to build the ZUBR initially but eventually made my own changes and design for the Carrack. The main problem I'm worried about for building the ZUBR is the ramp at the front which will be hard to do because in real life, it folds down with the skirt which will be tricky to do in-game

adding onto the comment under, a good idea for a weaponized version of this might be the russian ZUBR Hovercraft. i did notice this hovercraft looked a lot like it, so you might even be able to modify weapons onto this one to get something similar.

I will definitely make some weaponized hovercrafts in the future when I get the DLC but I don't plan on weaponizing this particular creation as it was not designed for combat lol.

You should totally turn this into a warship, I loved using it, and when I accidentally went into hostile waters, the boat took a LOT of damage before going down, sure some of the damage was from me ramming it into the enemies, but that's fine. My point still stands, I think this would be a really good warship.

Happy to hear that you love it. I wanted it to be FPS friendly which is why I didn't go too crazy making the skirt into many little segments.

To be fair even without non stick its still the 2nd most maneuverable hovercraft ive ever tested, also the only one ive ever tested that has an auto pilot

After thinking about it, I decided I'm not going to add a non-sticky throttle mode.

Reason why is because it ruins the realistic controls aspect which I am trying to go for with this build. (pretty much all hovercrafts & aircraft use sticky throttles)

It's also not as simple as setting the collective at 0% when reset, as the bow thrusters would make the hovercraft move forward. This means that I would have to use a PID to control the collective with the variable being the forwards/backwards speed of the hovercraft and set point being the speed the user would want it to go. This would further ruin the authentic controls of the hovercraft.

Learning to perfectly maneuver the Carrack is all a matter of practice.

If a lot more people starts requesting for a non-sticky mode, then I might consider implementing it.

I'm glad you like it. You don't wanna know how much time I spent on the stabilizer and PID tuning to absolutely perfect the stability while not reacting to waves too roughly. It's still not 100% perfect when out in the open sea away from islands but still pretty decent.

As for the bow thrusters, I'm sure it might trigger some OCD players but there's not much I can do about that. Putting the bow thrusters on sticky wouldn't really work well either. From what I know, in real life, hovercrafts control their bow thrusters using a knob.

I've tried a heap of hovercrafts and never really liked any of them, the few that don't rely on exploits to hover have other issues of their own.
This thing however is amazing. Floats great even without engines on which is a rarity, handles great, and is crazy resilient. Only nitpick I have is that it's hard to find the zero position on the bow thrusters, so I ended up changing them from sticky to reset.

Yeah I might make a military variant in the future when I decide to get the DLC. But the passenger bay would have to be removed if I wanted to add a reloading system for the turret.

Question: Do you think you could make a variant painted gray instead of orange and with the water gun replaced with a heavy autocannon?
