Give the Man a Kimono an slippers...he is an old man. I am sure is back is messed up and joints gave way long ago. He is a Veteran Warrior who does not nor should not wear armor. He is an old man give him a break. LOL.

Indeed. Anyway, the point of this mod is explained in the description. When I first read about Skyrim before it came out, Esbern sounded like a mighty and experienced old warrior, not a feeble old man in black PJs - I always imagined him in Blades armor, since he is in fact, well, a Blade. If you don't agree with the mod, don't subscribe to it. Simple as that.

He's an old NORD. An old Nord BLADE. And the armor and sword are mainly for ceremonial purposes anyway. His voice is done by Max Von Sydow, who's played all kinds of bad@$$ characters over his movie career. Also he ditches the white tunic you first find him in and wears a black one instead in the vanilla game.

He is a magic based fighter, and the point remains.... he's old. Do you really expect someone his age fighting in armor like that? I mean.... listen to his voice! He's in his dotage... let him have his "pajamas" that aren't even black, and allow him his rest.

@eslagle7 Yes, and he still is. Only his armor and weapon are changed, not his combat style or anything else about him. And he won't put on the armor until you set up shop at Sky Haven Temple. So he'll still be wearing that white shirt when you first find him.

"The only one who knows how to destroy Alduin" seemed like a Ratway Beggar, not a Loremaster of the Blades, even if he never fought, he still would've been trained AS a frontline agent, and served in that way for a short while. Great work!

You have a very good point, and if I remember correctly, he is a mage or somewhere in that classification. And yes I love the armor too.

tbh i dont think he needs armor. he is badass enough without them. He gave you a potion that makes your skin like that of a dragon. Anyone who can do that is a badass in their own right. Still gonna hit that button though....luv dat armor...

In the lore of the blades, ALL BLADES WORE THE ARMOR. Why? IN case there is an attack on the base, what I did with the blades armor for oblivion was enchant the armor in a mod with resist magicka enchantments, as well as fortify health, shield and fortify strength.

He may not have been a frontline warrior, but he is a member of the Blades Order, and so I thought it appropriate that he wear the armor, even if just for ceremonial purposes. But hey, you have a right to your own opinion. If you don't like my mod, nobody's forcing you to subscribe to it.

Esbern was never a Blade. That is why he doesn't ware Blade Armor. He is just their Lore Master.
