@Massive Anorak CA didn't make any Hero Maneaters, what are you talking about?
Paymasters are lords, but that's a Dogs of War thing, not a Maneater thing (technically speaking Golgfag is also a Dogs of War character instead of an Ogre Kingdoms one).
but the new Bruiser Hero is a regular Ogre Kingdoms thing, also not a Maneater thing.
the Eshin Maneater is an RoR, and it's pretty sad that Clan Eshin don't get access to it.
Massive Anorak 22 Dec, 2024 @ 10:07am
What I wished CA would have done, is done smaller aspiring champion style units of Maneaters like the Eshin one, but maybe some empire greatsword ones, some dwarfen thunderer ones, maybe some dark elf spear ones, but a unit around a theme with a more specific battlefield role. But CA made one of them a lord, and the other a hero

for Golgfag's Maneaters it would probably be best to keep in mind the areas they operate in most often, so giving priority to Dwarf, Greenskin, Vampire Count, Empire, Brettonia, and High Elf stuff would be most important for them as a priority (admittedly their most preferred areas seem to be the Southern Realms and the Moot, but neither of those areas have their own dedicated factions yet unless you venture into modding).

for Maneaters in general it makes more sense for each Ogre to have one focus. the idea is that they've each latched onto a single culture that they particularly like and that's what they're dressing up as (a clear example of this is the Eshin Maneater).
if possible it might be best if Maneaters hired by other factions stuck to the parts they gain from that faction (e.g. if Gorbad hires Maneaters from Skrag they should strongly prioritise Greenskin parts. you might still see the occasional Maneater of another culture, but the ones that stick with Gorbad are going to adopt the Greenskin culture).

Golgfag's Maneaters seem to be a bit of an exception though, it might just be due to how much the group ventures around but they seem to end up with more of a mix of random bits instead of sticking to just 1 culture (as an example there's one known character as part of the group who mixes Brettonian, Goblin, Tilean, Dwarf, and Beastman items).

Will it be a standalone mod for those who want the Golg bois to be as is?
Garuk Seln  [author] 14 Dec, 2024 @ 8:46am
Thank you, I'm definitely thinking about Golgfag's maneaters and deciding how I want to approach it. I could take the system I have now, where each individual ogre in a unit is fairly sharply delineated by race. I was also thinking about possibly trying a whole new approach where there's far more mix and match pieces from any race on each individual ogre.

I'll probably do the easy thing of applying my already existing work to the new maneaters first, but knock around ideas in my noggin for a while.
Rayor 14 Dec, 2024 @ 12:58am
always good mod. best reskin mod
Lemonz 13 Dec, 2024 @ 5:31am
Could you do some variants for Golg's Maneaters?
Thrakerzod 30 Jul, 2024 @ 2:58am
@Butterfly floof off the top of my head the factions I've not seen included are
proper Empire themed Ogres (though I think the generic vanilla ones are being counted as Empire ones)
Vampire Counts
Warriors of Chaos
Beastmen
Wood Elves
Norsca
Skaven
Vampire Coast
Kislev
and Cathay

I guess Daemons of Chaos too, but I consider them to be more of a mix of Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch and Slaanesh (which I think are all done) instead of them really being their own faction.
Sammbert 29 Jul, 2024 @ 4:39pm
@butterfly floof probably skaven pelts, the little guys are delicious
Butterflycat 29 Jul, 2024 @ 2:29pm
What factions are not currently included? Haven't seen any Skaven ones yet sadly...although I'm not sure what a skaven ogre would wear
Thrakerzod 21 Jul, 2024 @ 12:19pm
@Maximum Broly! there were already greenskin themed Maneaters last I checked
Maximum Broly! 12 Jul, 2024 @ 7:39am
Any plans for "Orky" Maneaters?
[NC] Will Francesco 11 Jul, 2024 @ 8:14pm
@Garuk that is so exciting. I loved the Slaanesh Ogre so I'm excited to see the others now xD
Garuk Seln  [author] 7 Jun, 2024 @ 10:35pm
Added variants featuring pieces from the 4 chaos gods. Ogres and other destruction/chaosy factions should also be able to see them if they get the ability to recruit them.
Axios2002 24 May, 2024 @ 4:43pm
I was looking for a mod like this, I will keep an eye on it until it reaches it's final version to see if it's to my tastes, but overall, great work.
Rincewind322 1 May, 2024 @ 6:59pm
This is the visual mod that consistently brings me the most joy when I fight battles, thank you
Sammbert 1 May, 2024 @ 1:49pm
if that's actually possible it would be cool. It would make sense for Cathay and the Empire to not want to recruit mercenaries that have been working for Chaos, while the ogre kingdoms would probably be fine with maneaters wearing Chaos Dwarf armor but not the ones that have become full worshippers of the dark gods. If that's not possible or extremely difficult to do then it's fine though, I know nothing about modding WH3.
Thrakerzod 1 May, 2024 @ 1:32pm
well... if I recall correctly in the past you've put certain limitations in place so that certain factions have more limited pools of Maneaters (off the top of my head I think it was that Lizardman and Tomb King factions couldn't get Lizardman and Tomb King themed Maneaters respectively since they wouldn't tolerate the Ogres stealing their stuff)

what if the heavily mutated Ogres were exclusive to undivided/Slaaneshi Chaos factions? so the heavily mutated Slaaneshi ones would only show up for WoC, Beastmen Norsca, DoC, Slaanesh, DoC and maybe Dark Elves
Garuk Seln  [author] 1 May, 2024 @ 1:16pm
I haven't decided what to do with them at the moment, they are still technically in the mod files, just unused for the moment.
Sammbert 1 May, 2024 @ 1:16pm
I definitely agree with them, there should be a submod or two versions of the mod, one with the more "normal" skins only and one that's all-out. They are really cool models but just not the kind of reskin I personally enjoy.
Thrakerzod 1 May, 2024 @ 1:10pm
will the Slaaneshi mutated ogres be added in a submod or something? personally I thought they were some of your best work in this mod
Garuk Seln  [author] 1 May, 2024 @ 12:28pm
Made sure nothing was not working after the update, removed the slaanesh ogres that were heavily mutated.

Do plan to replace them ogres with choasy equipment but no physical alterations, but it'll be a bit.
Sammbert 30 Apr, 2024 @ 9:38pm
thanks man, you're a real one
Garuk Seln  [author] 30 Apr, 2024 @ 8:43pm
Yes, I'm gonna make that change when I get a chance, next day or two probably.
Sammbert 30 Apr, 2024 @ 9:03am
Would you possibly consider making a version of this mod without the mutant chaos ogres? I like most of the variants but it’s immersion breaking for me for crab clawed mutants to be fighting in the same unit as normal ogres.
Thrakerzod 13 Apr, 2024 @ 3:49pm
since there's now Nurgle themed Ogres getting added with Tamurkhan is there any chance of there being some Nurgle themed Maneaters to accompany them?
lwhのsama 2 Feb, 2024 @ 10:07am
the best reskin:steamthumbsup::steamthumbsup:
Gleen Cross 28 Jul, 2023 @ 2:26am
This looks great, lol the Ogres has so much potential, regiment of renown Ogres for every major faction for example, wearing their respective clothing
Necropolitan13 5 Jul, 2023 @ 3:01pm
I just want to say that this is one of my favorite mods ever. It really makes the maneaters a joy to look at and I love it so much lol. I don't even use ogres much, I just love seeing the maneaters with this mod. Fantastic work.
Solaire 13 May, 2023 @ 8:46am
Sorry for wasting your time. Seems like upon isolation it doesn't show up. Which is weird cause I was waiting a long while for this and was using, already, a bunch of chaos related mods and when I enabled this, its when I started seeing that bug. Could be a incompatibility or vanilla shenanigans. Ah well maybe it'll get fixed luckily with other mod updates. It is pretty funny to have these ogre interns getting their pay in a job they'll undoubtedly love.
Garuk Seln  [author] 13 May, 2023 @ 6:48am
That's gonna be tricky for me to test. I didn't buy the them, so can't play as them or against them in quick battle. Have you tested this with only this mod enabled? While I've made mistakes before, I would be completely at a loss at how my mod is making this happen.
Solaire 12 May, 2023 @ 8:50pm
Oh by the way really funny bug that occurred. When I enabled this mod. The ogre that loads the dreadquake mortar goes from the normal chaos dwarf slave skin to a regular vanilla maneater. As hilarious as it is to think that its just a ogre working part time in a job that involves blowing shit up, it is a bit immersion breaking.
Legio I Stark 6 May, 2023 @ 7:17am
Thanks for the update.
Parabéns, ficou muito bom. Obrigado pela atualização.
Garuk Seln  [author] 5 May, 2023 @ 8:46pm
All right, that took a good deal longer than I meant it to. Added varieties based on chaos dwarves, both with good armor and helms, as well as hobgobbo themed things as well.
Thrakerzod 17 Apr, 2023 @ 4:00pm
really looking forwards to those Chaos Dwarf inspired ones. considering how cool the Chaos Dwarfs themselves are some Chaos Dwarf Ogres should look awesome
will they have big hats? or will they go down more of an Infernal Guard look? I imagine at least some will have probably been enslaved at some point
Hobgoblin themed Ogres could be cool too
Garuk Seln  [author] 13 Apr, 2023 @ 2:34pm
Hello all, I have started exploring ideas for Chaos Dwarf inspired ogres, so know it will come sooner rather than later.
wessidemassive 29 Mar, 2023 @ 9:43am
I love this mod, I hope we can see some chaos dwarf variations once that factions released, would love to see how you'd approach them!
Rayor 18 Mar, 2023 @ 9:09am
It's an incredibly well-made mode. In fact, I think it's right to go into the game itself.
Thrakerzod 28 Feb, 2023 @ 2:02pm
every time I play with this mod I feel like I discover new types of Maneater

I very much look forwards to future ones, mainly ones of Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch and the Vampires

also I'd expect Chaos Dwarf ones to look awesome once those are out.
okadataiga 12 Feb, 2023 @ 11:26am
thanks, i want this mod!
EggOnLegs 6 Feb, 2023 @ 11:33am
Needed to say how creative this fantastic Mod is, outstanding work!
Garuk Seln  [author] 18 Jan, 2023 @ 12:13pm
I'm gonna put a real big maybe on that. I burned myself out a bit making a different project, then work, holidays, and stuff kept me busy. Serious health issues in my personal family have left me with little time and energy for other pursuits for the time being. So don't expect anything anytime soon.
TheGrandSirPiggy 18 Jan, 2023 @ 10:54am
Are you planning to do even more variants? :steammocking: Would love to see the ninja man eater and the "boss wife" man eaters, with the rolling pins
Garuk Seln  [author] 8 Nov, 2022 @ 8:43pm
works fine for me.
Keman 5 Nov, 2022 @ 3:52pm
Even if the game says that the mod is outdated, do it still works?
Sacred Cow Slaughterhouse 19 Oct, 2022 @ 2:02am
Mister Bungus I've been running this with Loupi's RoR multiple campaigns no issue
AliensOnMars 20 Sep, 2022 @ 3:58pm
thanks so much for this - I always loved the variety they have in the tabletop and was annoyed CA didn't reflect that
Mister Bungus 14 Sep, 2022 @ 4:53pm
I was having crashes when launching them both at the same time, even with no other mods enabled. Must be something else in my setup.
