There was a scene bug. In the first phase, on the wooden roof of a German spawn building, there was a raven decoration. This wooden roof would be destroyed by artillery fire, and then the raven decoration would be left hanging there strangely.
ah I see, take your time man, real life comes first
Yes, I was on vacation, then came home to a lot of extra work, but I have been slowly chipping away at the next installment. I'm about 75% finished with the map, which will be based on the Battle of Besançon in September 1944.
I kept German resistance low because the real landing at Cavalaire went against relatively light opposition. Company G, 7th IR was hit hardest with 20 KIA, but most of those deaths occurred when their LCVPs hit mines offshore. The coastal defenses were mostly manned by Armenian and Azerbaijani "Osttruppen" who surrendered in droves. And unlike the Normandy landings, the pre-invasion aerial and naval bombardment was quite accurate.
I was thinking of making realistic missions for each map based on the real after-action reports, TO/E, casualties, etc. and then more gameplay/balance oriented missions separately. I'll probably do that once I've made all of the maps.
Didn't see any medics or US M1919s. Felt that giving the Germans a few more LMGs or emplaced MGs would make for a tougher fight.
Nice work on the map, good looking and fun to move around on.
