Perplexing Potions

Great room, though three things we really struggled with:
1. Breaking the glass didn't work after 5 tries so we gave up and didn't try again for halt an hour.
2. The board says Monday->Saturday but we thought since the text was right that it should be right to left.
3. The blue potion has two correct answers but only one works. The Arsenic place could also be Antimony since both are Semi-Metals but only Arsenic works.

I can't believe I didn't think of that.

The A and B plates are used to figure out aspects of each element in the bottles! one will tell you if an element is metal or not, and the other is to tell you how reactive they are ^^

Can I ask what the A and B plates were for? Unless I somehow skipped them, you didn't had to put anything into them.

Unless it's changed in the last 5 days I think there is only one solution to the elements. There are two different clues to the middle and bottom row alignments, but only one configuration is possible. (Pay attention to which elements have to be adjacent to/above/below each other)

hey, which parts of the puzzle has multiple solutions? if you let me know id love to be able to fix it! thanks!

Had to downvote for one reason: the element arranging puzzle has multiple possible solutions, yet only one is accepted. The arrangement of the middle and bottom row needs to be more specific so you don't end up with multiple places to put things.

Enjoyed this very much, but I also had tremendous difficulty with laying out the elements. I followed the walkthrough, and didn't understand the logic of the placements done in the walkthrough video. Some sort of additional explanatory notes would be helpful, I think, without taking away from the player's need for deductive reasoning. I appreciated the number of interesting items, actually, but there were several of them. If I didn't throw them away, but set them down or pulled them out, they cluttered up the narrow confines of the room which, with the chairs, made movement very challenging. Again, quite liked this, it's the element placement that I had issues with.

Great map and puzzles! I agree with others that there are too many loose items that don't do anything. I like to trash these and so I had almost 300 items in the trash! I had to refer to a walkthrough video to put all the drawings of the elements onto the chart/table on the wall. I don't know if it was because it was too challenging or because I was too tired that I couldn't get it. I could get the planets and the nonmetals, but wasn't sure of the order of the rest. But I got just about everything else eventually. :)

Pretty good map and puzzles, the only downside I will mention is all the "trash" items, I counted 304, just too many!

Nevermind, found it in the first room

Where is the clue that associates the elements with days of the week? I have NO idea what to do there

Good puzzle, But dev can i recommend:

1: I had absolutely no idea how to layout half of the element posters. The current clues were not enough. Maybe add some more keys to the back of some of them, or maybe an ink splotch that crosses two posters to indicate they're next to each other.

2: You have this habit in all of your maps to put 200+ random items, the first room alone had 160. This wouldn't be an issue but you also hide stuff under and behind these things. This ends up making a good 15+ minutes of trashing all the junk just to make sure i didn't miss any hidden clue. Can i recommend going through and locking a lot more objects in place, that would help indicate they aren't hiding any clues.

Your puzzles are extremely good, I am gonna keep playing them as the puzzles themselves are really high quality and I always, ALWAYS feel really good when I figure them out.

@franciskeitorl Magnesium card is under the empty tool box on the table next to the door between the first two rooms. You can't get to those 3 flasks until after the chalkboard puzzle.
franciskeitorl 24 May, 2022 @ 1:08am
still missing 3 flasks (Gold, Platinum and Arsenic) and 1 card (Magnesium). Any idea?

some notes on how to get through the first part of the room:

Outside:
4 LOCK keys
4 element cards

First room:
8 element cards (and one showing moon+sun)

2 locks on chest under "A" card: left comes from looking at 4 jars with keys in them from lockbox
right comes from pressing a button on a gravestone outside
between that chest and painting, there's a switch that reveals a clue for the spices puzzle and key for locked bookcase

spices puzzle is next

now for the potion to open next room:
Snake symbol -- on back of card for Mercury
Saturn -- from solar system model in next room and cards it's Lead
Same bottle -- go outside a break glass to get bottle

Second room:
6 element cards (and 2 blue explaining devices A and B)

Break glass of spider cage for key to bookshelf
Mushroom clock opens suitcase, get order from outside mushroom/apples

Solve chalkboard puzzle using calendar in first room, solar system model in second room, A/B contraptions

Anyone have any ideas of what to do with the A and B plates? I solved the bowl puzzle and have the first two flasks for the cauldron puzzle but and completely stuck. I've gone through the room 10 times and haven't found any more key items and all the flasks I have don't seem to do anything on any of the plates
AncientAlumina 21 May, 2022 @ 9:17pm
Seriously need some hints! Stuck in the first room with the A and B plates!
Kayin_G 21 May, 2022 @ 11:52am
yes, walk through or hints greatly appreciated.
PrincessBrit 20 May, 2022 @ 3:03pm
Can we PLEASE get some hints for this? I've tried solo and with friends and we can't quite figure everything out. I really want to finish the map because I really do enjoy it
Znapper 19 May, 2022 @ 12:58pm
i've had to restart a few times bc drawings kept falling thru the floor
Jay 19 May, 2022 @ 7:23am
