@mcsteve89
greetings sir/ma'am i would like permission from you to convert your ship to nuclear power and once done i would like to upload it giving credit to you of course for the original ship along with whos ever reactor i use to outfit the ship with

this will be the first large scale outfit iv done on a ship other then building a reactor and ship around said reactor and i would like to use your ship for this project as the inside is very crampt and would make for a fair challenge in this project so with ur permission i would like to attempt this and then upload the resulting craft

Sink switch is on the support for the boiler on the port (left) side, and you need pressure for it to trigger

Thanks for the advice! I'll try using those tactics the next time I'm building a steam boat. I kind of understand why my boats with 1 or 2 turbines are so slow now :P
mcsteve89  [author] 14 May, 2022 @ 8:49am
My method is always just brute force with steam engines. there's two main reasons why it can go at the speed it does. First, rather obviously, is that there's a ridiculous amount of turbines for just one propeller. I find around 15-18 to be a good amount. Second is that there's pumps on the steam pipes. It doesn't make much sense, but pumps on the steam pipes give it a massive boost in power. A third reason is that I always gear up the propeller shaft. Usually the sweet spot is one gearbox set to 3:1 and another to about 2:1.

Very nice ship! How did you manage to get it to sail so fast on a steam engine? Any attempt I tried at steampowered ships tend to always be very slow.
