I hope to be able to pick it back up soon. Just having issues with my rig but when it gets resolved, I will be getting back to it and hopefully get those ini settings working on dedicated servers properly.

Thanks for your answer, I figured it out after testing many spellings of the engram path. It's the following one that you'll have to add to hide the engrams :

OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="Skill_SuperSails_ML_C",EngramHidden=True,EngramPointsCost=75,EngramLevelRequirement=150,RemoveEngramPreReq=False)
OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="Skill_SuperSails_S_C",EngramHidden=True,EngramPointsCost=75,EngramLevelRequirement=150,RemoveEngramPreReq=False)

Unfortunately it may be some time before I am able to work on it again but I will always try to actively answer questions in the mean time. My rig is still down and this is from memory so please post back if it doesnt work and maybe someone else can shine some light.

Though I haven't tested it, you should be able to hide them if you name them in the server game.ini in the overridenamedengramentries section, like any other mod. If you do not have that section you can manually put it in. You can also set a level requirement different than the mod, the need for a pre-req, as well as the point cost for the skill/engram if you wanted.

OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_Skill_SuperSails_ML_C",EngramHidden=True,EngramPointsCost=75,EngramLevelRequirement=150,RemoveEngramPreReq=False)

OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_Skill_SuperSails_S_C",EngramHidden=True,EngramPointsCost=75,EngramLevelRequirement=150,RemoveEngramPreReq=False)

Try this and see if it works, if not, I may have mispelled one or both of the engram entries but you can look them up on your server if you look in the mod's folder under engrams. I hope this helps and if I am wrong about this, someone else is more than welcome to speak up.

It will be able to once I get my PC back up and running and get the INI files straight. They seem to work on single player but not on a dedicated server as yet.

Ok, guys. Sorry I didn't get it up yesterday like I wanted to but this laptop took all night to load the devkit, then all day to load the mod in and edit and upload. The sail units were changed to 2.6, 1.7, and 1.0 for the large, medium, and small sails; respectively.

Sorry I have been out of touch for a little while... having some electrical issues... havent been able to get my main rig up and going again yet but I hope to borrow my buddies laptop that should be enough to get the sail units down to the ones I listed below for now until I can get the main rig back up and get back to work on the inis.... I hope to have the values set and uploaded by Sunday evening(6-19-22).

Is it possible to improve the texture quality of the sails. The images on the sails of the mod are of lower quality than on the vanilla sails. I encounter the problem in particular on medium speed sails

Ok with the sails being the default cost of 2.66 for Large, 1.7 for Medium, and still 1.0 for Small.

My guys have responded that they would be ok with the sails being the default cost of 2.66 for Large, 1.7 for Medium, and still 1.0 for Small. Would this help in the meantime? I could probably talk them into a little less for the medium(maybe 1.5) but not sure about going all the way down to 1.32 since that is so much below the default medium sails.

Can you guys post what the changes you need would be? Is it mostly just the sail units that everyone is wanting to change? I can make some of these changes for you guys in the mod until I can get the ini's working server side

if you get a discord going you can communicate beter with the people who want this mod and yes people want this mod there are no mods out there that work right now that give you the level of customization your offering without adding other silly things to it like ships alot of people just want editable sails

So it is making the first two the way you want and the third is making it read as what it originally was? Interesting. Sounds like it could be a replication issue. Not sure but will look into it. Thanks for the testing there, Falcon!

I did the SP test on a ship that has 5.3 sail units
To have 3 medium speed sails I assigned the value of 1.32 units per sail, (the default value is 1.85)
When I present the sail on the ship the displayed value is 1.85
I set up the first 2 sails, then it is displayed:
Required Sail Units = 1.85
Current Ship Sail Units = 2.64 / 5.3
The total of 2.64 for the first 2 sails corresponds to 1.32 per sail, value that I modified in ini. But the display is 1.85 (the default value).
Which prevents me from positioning the third sail.

Rex: I will try to get one going. I honestly did not anticipate people really wanting this mod. Mainly did it for the server I play on with my buddies. I am just dipping my toe back in the modding scene after not doing anything since early early days of Ark. I do appreciate the feedback you all are giving me and I will try to keep up with any adjustments. I have a few minutes now and am going to try something that someone else suggested on a forum to try to get these ini's working on dedicated server. Only going to change the supersail_large_accel for the test. I really appreciate the patience as well. Cheers, guys!

no rush glad you made this mod once i balance it a bit for our rp server it will give people tons more ship design options so its perfect i hate seeing ships with all handling sails there super ugly lol

I tried a couple more iterations that still dont seem to work on dedicated server but does on local. Unfortunately, I am not going to have much time in the next few days as I have a rather large project I am working on for my real job. I will get back to working on it as soon as I am done with that and we will get these ini options working on the dedicated servers.

Sorry guys, on my test server it is still not using the values that I set in my ini. Is anyone else having the issue or is it just my server? It seems to work fine for me in my single player server though.

Pushing another update. Hopefully this fixes the ini settings to work on all types of servers, player(single) and dedicated. All ini settings stayed the same just trying to make it work on all.

Rex: Please check a few of them before going all in. Sorry I didnt catch you earlier, been tied up working for the last 15 hours. If they do not work for you, dont worry I am hard at work and they will be the same names when I get them to work. I thought I had it working but it seems there is a hangup on the netauth value somewhere.

After I put it on my dedicated server, it is not reading the values from the INI like it should. I tested on my single player and it worked. I checked the logic in the mod and it all says it should work in both single player and also dedicated server environments. I am investigating and hope to have it resolved soon. If any of you have the same issue, let me know; that way I know it isnt just my server acting up.

The INI settings are now in. There is a pinned discussion for the INI settings as well as the Spawn Codes. I appreciate everyone's patience on all the changes, etc. Please let me know if there is anything else that really needs a setting that can be changed and I will do my best to add it.

I think I am almost done adding the ini's. So far I have put in the main things that I changed from the original sails, as far as I can tell, and you will be able to set them in the ini. I have to test before I upload it but that should be at some point in the next 12 to 24 hours, depending on my other commitments.

I did go ahead and update it to 1.0 as you requested. I will be adding ini settings later for server admins to be able to adjust things to their liking for all sails.

I can... I only made them 1.1 because the normals are 1.0 and since these are much more powerful, I wanted you to have to try hard to work them into a build. However, that said, I am working on adding ini entries so that you can set them to whatever you would like.
