In known issues, its said "not supporting weapons upgrades". Does the loadout save load pick the weapon type ? or the weapon Name ? In other word, if im giving a custom name for every weapons, will it works correctly ?

Then, from what i have understood, this version isn't automated but seems to work better than the automated one. The manual and automated versions seems to be compatible, but are they complementary ? In other words, can the automation from the other mod, and the working loadout saving from this one can work together to make a perfectly automated loadout manager to avoid loosing countless minutes in the mission lobby ?

Depending answers above, and depending my gaming style, which is "lazy", Is the manual version fill my lazy playstyle ? or should i stay on the Automated version ?

Hi. Im actually using the Automated Loadout Manager. Im wondering to switch for that verion because the automated verion has some problems. If the soldier is sent into intensive training, officer training, or is injured, most of utilities are unequiped and after several hundreads of missions im starting to be really annoyed, especially when im managing a dozen of squads.

As said in this version, the loadout saving seems less "clunky" than the automated version but i have read the description here and im hesitating because of questions im now asking:

Hello

I am using Long war of the chosen and i cant see "save" or "equip" loadout - am i doing something wrong?

Hi @Iridar - firstly, thanks for all the wonderful mods, this one like many of your others I can't imagine playing without.

Quick question for you, where does the path "..\Documents\my games\.." get set for the backup file'X2LoadoutManagerBackup.bin'. I ask, as I've moved my Documents folder from the C:\ drive and this is the only thing that persists writing back to that location and no respecting the relocation. I wondered if it was due to the local case 'my game's but suspect the mod or the MCM mod is writing to a literal path.

Not a big deal, just would like to fix it locally if I can.

Start typing RPGO in the console and see what options auto complete gives you.
Iridar  [ophavsmand] 6. okt. 2024 kl. 2:43
You might be able to do something there for RPGO console commands, though I don't know if it has a command for giving specific specializations.
Iridar  [ophavsmand] 6. okt. 2024 kl. 2:42
No, there isn't.

Great QoL-Mod!
Another question @Iridar since you are one, if not the greatest XCOM2 Modding-Expert: Is there a Mod like this to save or create Loadouts for RPGO - Commanders Choice/Starting Abilities Character Presets?
(For Example a self created "Guardian Class" with a saved StartingPerk-Combo for better Reflexfire)

World be great QoL and timesparing if you have found a good Perk/Class Combi which you could Save an Reload on another character or in another Campaign.

oh damn. We were on the verge of greatness, we were this close.
Iridar  [ophavsmand] 28. sep. 2024 kl. 17:41
Read Known Issues.
Sunbach 28. sep. 2024 kl. 16:32
@Iridar: not sure if this is a bug or intended but I equipped my soldier with a weapon with upgrade attachment, then I save that load out. Then I tried to change the weapon to the same tier but with NO attachment, then I load my previous saved loadout but it doesn't bring me the weapon with attachment?

I just beat the gate crasher mission and my soldiers don't have skills (especially if there are enough skills to go to second row) and I havent built GTS to see AP button yet so if anyone has tested this please let me know. thank you.
Iridar  [ophavsmand] 26. sep. 2024 kl. 2:55
Should be. Could've just tried.
Sunbach 26. sep. 2024 kl. 2:27
@Iridar: if I use robojumper's Squad Select, and choose to show "the stat" and the skills" and "the AP", will there be space for the "Equip Loadout" button?

I could not start the game because of the mod.
I decided to delete some of the save files i had accumulated (i had over 300, i figured it would make the load window go faster), the mod asked me to restore something when i restarted (i don't remember the exact dialogue), i hit yes, and game then crashed trying to load the latest save file, and then the game refused to go past the splash-screens. Uninstalling the mod didn't fix the issue.

I confirmed this was having issues by completely removing anything related to the game, and reinstalling with all the mods (391) but this one, the game started again normally. The moment i enabled this mod, the dialogue popped up again, i hit yes again, and i had to do everything all over again.
The log file is too big for pastebin, but i didn't see anything pointing at your mod in it.

@Zelfana
Good idea, unfortunately not easily doable.
Zelfana 17. apr. 2023 kl. 16:25
One feature that this could use is being able to save empty slots so you can unequip ammo and such in a loadout for covert actions etc.
Iridar  [ophavsmand] 12. apr. 2023 kl. 20:16
@zin
Oh, you're right, I'm sorry, I confused this with my other mod, Automated Loadout Manager. This Loadout Manager only looks at the item name, so yeah, it won't load upgraded weapons. I might address that at some point, but it's not going to happen any time soon.
zin 12. apr. 2023 kl. 18:24
Oh. I tested with a Plasma Rifle with mods, and when loading the loadout, it loaded a default Plasma Rifle with no mods. Maybe it’s a conflict.
Iridar  [ophavsmand] 12. apr. 2023 kl. 18:04
@zin
Heavy weapons should be working, I tested that extensively while I was working on this mod.

The mod works fine with upgraded weapons themselves, but if you take all upgrades out, the upgraded weapon stops existing and is merged into the infinite weapon pool, and the loadout manager will be unable to find it.

So if you play with reusable upgrades and remove upgrades from weapons all the time, the Loadout Manage won't be able to work propely, and it's not going to change, because I'll be getting rid of reusable upgrades in FOXCOM, an overhaul I'm working on.
zin 12. apr. 2023 kl. 13:43
I was about to report that weapon upgrades are not supported, but it’s already mentioned in the post. Is this something you could consider fixing? If so, that would be fantastic!

Also, it didn’t say this in the mod description: heavy weapons don’t seem to be supported either. At least modded heavy weapons. My loadout defaults to the Rocket Launcher.

@Broda I know this comment is kinda old now, but personally, I use Vest Slot:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1293714688

I don’t use it by itself, though. I use it with Dress For Success, which adds a GTS perk that unlocks a vest slot for all units (except SPARKs, but that can be changed in the config).
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2267112423

The same author also has two other mods, one that adds an ammo slot and one that adds a grenade slot.
zin 12. apr. 2023 kl. 12:55
80% of the time I find a cool mod I didn’t know existed, it’s made by Iridar. Iridar is literally the king/queen of XCOM 2 modding!
Alexandr 19. feb. 2023 kl. 4:12
Though it's functionally similar, Hotl3looded's three mods, one built upon Vest Slot by Musashi, can use the Highlander (at least in the two cases that aren't vest slots) to add ammo and grenade slots via a GTS perk by default. You can disable the perk, I believe, making it automatic for anyone you don't blacklist via template or class in the mods' configs.
Iridar  [ophavsmand] 30. dec. 2022 kl. 1:49
There's a standalone Vest Slot mod. There's nothing like that for the Ammo slot, but it's easy enough to add with a config edit, should you want to.
Broda 30. dec. 2022 kl. 1:17
Actually never mind, I just realised that [WOTC] Armour Upgrades has upgrades that add dedicated slots.
Well time to throw Ammo and Vest slots in the recycling bin.
Broda 30. dec. 2022 kl. 1:06
Thanks for the advice, do you happen to know of a more up to date mod that adds a dedicated ammo/grenade slot?
Ammo and Vest Slots [WOTC] is the only one I could find.

Also assuming there is such a mod, will this mod save those slots?
Iridar  [ophavsmand] 30. dec. 2022 kl. 0:19
@Broda
Ammo and Vest Slots [WOTC] is an old mod that does things in an old, bad way. It's incompatible with virtually anything that has to do with inventory slots. I highly recommend against using it for any purpose.
Broda 29. dec. 2022 kl. 21:13
Is it possible to enable this mod to save slots added through other mods? For example I use https://steamhost.cn to add dedicated ammo and grenade pouches. Which currently this mod does not save.

I'm hoping this is something I can add through the ini if I'm lucky, ty.
Moisesjns 29. nov. 2022 kl. 11:29
Love this mod. Thanks for this
Iridar  [ophavsmand] 1. okt. 2022 kl. 22:21
No, this mod doesn't do that.

Weapon color is normally saved as a part of soldier's appearance, unless the weapon has upgrades or a custom nickname.
Hollow Echoes 1. okt. 2022 kl. 22:02
Are saved loadouts able to save what weapon color is assigned?

I'm having issues where the weapons equipped will reset to the default, although this may be because I'm using A Million More Colors.
Iridar  [ophavsmand] 2. juni 2022 kl. 21:37
idk these mods aren't meant to be used together, so I haven't done any tests
Fenrira 2. juni 2022 kl. 19:09
I tried adjusting the values but the buttons still don’t seem to be appearing. Should I try reinstalling or do you think there might be other conflicts?
Iridar  [ophavsmand] 2. juni 2022 kl. 4:39
Try keeping X the same and reducing Y value by 40 or so.
Fenrira 2. juni 2022 kl. 2:44
I currently use Automated Loadout Manager and would rather not risk uninstalling it. What X and Y axis settings do you recommend for this mod?
Dizzzy_dk 1. juni 2022 kl. 14:48
I feel you, Rakiin. If anybody knows how to add controller support it would be super appreciated. Awesome mod btw.
Iridar  [ophavsmand] 1. juni 2022 kl. 9:14
No, it doesn't track specific weapons currently.
Badmagic 1. juni 2022 kl. 6:45
Quick question, if I'm renaming weapons, e,g, trooper Bob has "Bobs Primary" will it remember specifically "Bobs Primary" or just any XYZ that matches the base weapon? Just this would remove the weapon mods and paint/camo/customisation limitation.
Iridar  [ophavsmand] 29. maj 2022 kl. 9:35
@Rakiin
I don't care about controllers, but if somebody else provides the required code I'll add it.
Rakiin 29. maj 2022 kl. 9:15
"No controller support currently."
Is it planned? I mean I can save loadouts with my controller BUT I can't click the big green "Equip Loadout" everything else works.

I wish XCOM would allow to use mouse while in gamepad mode :/
