FDF-Chopper Shuttle

And yes, I made a temporary fix for myself, similar to other airlocks. Instead of the memory component, data from water detectors was also used to set the pump speed (i.e. the pump speed was 0 when there was no water in airlock). The pump worked as expected, and nothing broke (and the annoying counting sound).
lolic_lol 14 Apr @ 7:08pm
Well then, sorry, I didn't know. I was annoyed by this incessant sound of the pump, while there was no water in the shuttle. I considered it a bug and a waste of energy and durability of the pump.
Moon-Shadow 13 Apr @ 2:20pm
But first I have to learn how to build something that is waterproof, and a shuttle is easier.
Moon-Shadow 13 Apr @ 2:19pm
And I have to learn how to build my own submarine, the size of the Acacia, which also serves as the base design.

Because I want to make an alien-like submarine, which is a replica of one found on Europa by another race that was there before humans.

Nice design, a mix of original submarines and other looks.

1 tractor capture beam, i.e. a long energy surface where nothing falls through, like the energy system some moon pools use instead of or in addition to airlocks, so that all the dead enemies don't always have to be caught with a small submarine and lie around on top of it. ( I haven't seen anything similar System yet. )

And a main weapon like the Acacia's pulse laser instead of infinitely, with alien and other energy ammunition, and a recharge system like another submarine uses to recharge pulse ammunition. It's strange that oxygen boxes can recharge ammunition boxes them around to be able to use them.
Vootfer  [author] 13 Apr @ 2:02pm
Hey. That’s actually intentional, as it's part of the moon pool system. If I remember correctly, it doesn’t even consume power. But I’ll check it when I have time, just in case.
lolic_lol 13 Apr @ 1:55pm
Please fix water detection for bottom pumps in airlock. These pumps never turn off.
Moon-Shadow 13 Apr @ 1:45pm
The first time I built it, I only tried to build one cube with a door that had a window, attached to a submarine, because I needed to test the wiring for an electric Plate, which I couldn't see when I was inside, and testing only works actively; there's no way to see how something works beforehand.

Additional rooms that aren't connected to the submarine are possible if you can make them watertight.

That was the case with the first submarine. Because I couldn't make it watertight, I built a floating button further away, which I then swam to during the test, Just to see that the wiring for the electric Plate doesn't work.

The game doesn't tell you that an electrical panel has to be connected directly to the Super Loader.

I make two, because not everything goes directly to one, and things that are connected to a relay don't work that way. Two are better anyway, so two electric Plate are connected to one Super Loader and the weapons to the other.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying, your earlier comment was just a bit unclear. Totally fine to take inspiration; All good!
Moon-Shadow 13 Apr @ 1:04pm
What should I ask. ?

I'm not copying the original, I'm not replicating the entire shuttle.

I look at how it works and how it's constructed. I haven't looked at that many yet. When I try to build something myself, it leaks, and the program says it can't work for this and other reasons.

The ones I've seen so far have either been too big and require a large submarine, or they always have batteries that don't last long enough for me. Except for a submarine where shuttle reactors have infinitely variable reactors in flat shuttles, in a giant submarine. The remote control system is good, and these show that reactors work in shuttles too. Before, I thought reactors couldn't work in shuttles because all shuttles only have batteries.

And when something is replicated, the original is also linked to what it's based on, and somehow only a few do that, even citing the original sources on which their stuff is based.
Moon-Shadow 13 Apr @ 1:04pm
I asked a modder how his submarine worked because I wanted to adapt it for myself. I couldn't get along with the original shuttle console and navigation terminal mixing system, which is a problem for longer games, as I wanted to get to the end with it. He explained a few things to me and how I could translate the lyrics from his language that are in the submarine. He doesn't mind that others have re-uploaded the submarine, and I asked beforehand if it was okay.

This submarine contains a link to the original and to someone else's drone that is used with the submarine. The drone is approved for use and can be uploaded with submarines.

Another submarine is finished, I also asked the modder and it's fine with him, it applies to all of his submarines, while others have already made extended versions, i still have to adjust a few things.

As I wrote, this shuttle has a good design for its size.

I can't do much with single-player, regardless of which submarine has shuttles, because the batteries don't last long, and I like to take my time.

I would have to convert the shuttle to have a reactor, and I would change a few other things, and in that case, it's better to sight one as a model to see what you can do and build your own.

Other shuttles are either very flat, others are very large for a shuttle, so that the submarines they are attached to are also larger, and the larger the submarines become, the more complicated they are for single players because you have to do so many things yourself anyway, and for bots it just becomes complicated.
Vootfer  [author] 13 Apr @ 9:47am
Not sure how this relates to the mod, but noted. If the design sparks ideas for your own project, cool—but I’d appreciate being asked, rather than it being so one-sided.
Moon-Shadow 13 Apr @ 5:49am
I will take a look at the shuttle in the near future to be able to rebuild the design, as it has a good size and shape, it has been subscribed for some time but has not yet been viewed in the editor.

Since I can only use shuttles with a reactor, shuttles are not much use in single player if you only have 13 minutes, but you want to take your time.

There are shuttles with reactors. ( Even some with almost infinite energy, doesn't have to be. )

From another mod I just have to look at the reactor shutdown for shuttle, with Docking.

Since when I'm ready to make a submarine with a shuttle that I can upload, I should have my own shuttle.

Diving suits have to be exchanged anyway, in the end maybe a slightly bad aiming automatic gun system, for the non-steered side and both guns when not active for steering, so that you can go somewhere with only one diver and don't need anyone on the shuttle.

I may also use the remote control system from the other mod as Extra Function.

It looks like the little invisible pump at the bottom docking port is bugged and never turns off.

ooo sweet thanks
Vootfer  [author] 20 May, 2024 @ 7:52am
Not sure. Probably by the file name, which is: 'FDF-Chopper A1' and 'FDF-Chopper B1'.
SteelWoods 20 May, 2024 @ 7:44am
do you know what the console command name would be to spawn one of these?
Vootfer  [author] 24 Mar, 2024 @ 10:56pm
Just tested it on FDF-Eternity and FDF-Vortex, and it recharges fine. Just make sure to activate the docking port control feature on them for it to function properly.
retry0326 24 Mar, 2024 @ 9:53pm
It appears to be not a Shuttle problem, but a FDF-Eternity or FDF-Vortex problem.
Docking another submarine on Steam to the mothership will recharge it well.
retry0326 24 Mar, 2024 @ 9:21pm
I also activated the bottom docking port power lever on the terminal, but charging does not work.
TERRORISTA 4 May, 2023 @ 6:08pm
Thanks for answering my questions! Regarding the bots: The issue I've seen with the bots has to do with navigate back out of the submarine, even when hatches are opened the bots seem unable to climb the ladder back into the Vortex. (This is why I think having the shuttle pre-attached to the Vortex and simply having 2 editions of the Votrex for the sake of the two shuttle variatons, would be the best way of ensuring bots can navigate the vessel properly).
Vootfer  [author] 4 May, 2023 @ 12:34am
On Vortex, You'll need to ensure that the batteries are turned ON and have some charge in them. Then select the appropriate docking port to output power (red for power out and green for power in). Once you've done that, the shuttle should be able to recharge properly.

About the issues with bots, there may be some issues with the waypoints (AI uses them for navigation) that I am unaware of. I'll take a look at it. However, bots can't interact with buttons, so you have to open the hatches for them if that's the part where you encounter the problem.
TERRORISTA 3 May, 2023 @ 3:40pm
To your last response though, I haven't changed the wiring you had done, I simply attached the shuttle to the Vortex mother ship so I am unsure as to why the shuttle won't recharge... Is this something you can fix on your end or is it something I have to change myself?
TERRORISTA 3 May, 2023 @ 3:21pm
Have you experience any issues with the bots yourself? They seem to be unable to navigate back out of the shuttle once they've entered to make a repair...
Vootfer  [author] 3 May, 2023 @ 11:18am
It is possible that your "mother ship" docking port is not currently connected to a power source, which could explain why the shuttle is unable to charge.
TERRORISTA 3 May, 2023 @ 9:57am
The shuttle no longer charges when attached to the docking station on the mothership... The bots also get stuck in the shuttle quite often
Vootfer  [author] 2 May, 2023 @ 9:29pm
sure
Grey 2 May, 2023 @ 2:18pm
This is the best shuttle I've seen. Could you make the periscope default to the front gun? I don't think people that use this shuttle for the first time will know how to switch guns.
Vootfer  [author] 26 Apr, 2023 @ 12:11am
You need to attach them to docking ports in the editor.
ZeGuardsmen 26 Apr, 2023 @ 12:03am
Question: how to get the shuttles added on my Motherships? cant seem to see where to buy them:barotrauma:
Volcano2207 1 Apr, 2023 @ 2:57pm
yes
:captainclown:
Vootfer  [author] 1 Apr, 2023 @ 2:24pm
There's nothing to fix, but fine I'll change it. In the end, practicality is above all else, right?
Volcano2207 1 Apr, 2023 @ 2:06pm
if i set this as a respawn shuttle it just sinks due to having power off by default can you fix this?
Kyrox 15 Mar, 2023 @ 3:48pm
Thank you! This is one of my favorites 😍
Vootfer  [author] 11 Mar, 2023 @ 10:59pm
Sure
Kyrox 11 Mar, 2023 @ 6:13pm
Can I request a version with chainguns?
blazrandom 5 Oct, 2022 @ 6:29pm
awesome
dragemdown2hellandrapethem 21 Aug, 2022 @ 5:07pm
It doesnt have power when you spawn it, just wont turn on and it also just continuously goes upwards.
V.Nikers71 9 Aug, 2022 @ 6:43am
nice
Vootfer  [author] 9 Aug, 2022 @ 6:41am
Yes
V.Nikers71 9 Aug, 2022 @ 6:39am
Could this be used as a respawn shuttle?
Vootfer  [author] 25 May, 2022 @ 11:52pm
@Revan9
You need to attach it to a docking port in the editor.
9Revan9 25 May, 2022 @ 11:27pm
This looks awesome but I'm not familial with how to get shuttles. Do i need a sub with a lower docking port and then buy shuttles from the sub upgrade npc or do I need to add it to a sub in the editor?
Akkarin 23 May, 2022 @ 4:46am
Awesome
stallfish 22 May, 2022 @ 6:35pm
Nice design!
