1. Equip the radio which will open the control panel.
2. Set your channel etc. now the magic part…
3. Click X to close the control panel
4. Now you can unequip the radio and it will still work. Can be in your inventory or attached to belt/bags/gear. Dont think it’ll work if you put it inside a bag tho.
Enjoy
Request - I don't even know if this is possible, but would you be able to make it so the radio transmission triggers on a different keybind? Having to bring radio up, press unmuite, re-mute, and close radio is a huge hassle.
I hope you're doing well! I'm currently putting together a modpack for a Project Zomboid server called "Infected Chronicles," which is focused on creating a unique and immersive experience for our community through rp! (if anyone is interested reach out to me via messages). Your mod would be a perfect fit for the atmosphere we're aiming to build. I'd like to ask for your permission to include it in our modpack. Of course, full credit will be given to you, and I'll be sure to follow any guidelines you have. Thank you for considering my request!
Best regards,
Techspartan
I keeping going back to it every now and then trying to find out what about the broadcasts are so different but I haven't found it just yet
@Chrissy Jingles Honestly I have no idea, I've never tested it with those mods. I would guess the answer would likely be no as even though this mod will keep radios from turning off when unequipped (which helps with voice and text chat), for whatever reason things like the emergency broadcasts will stop playing."
Sorry you were getting questions on this. I have a patch coming out tomorrow with the true music radios that will fix that and I confirmed is compatible with this mod too. Because of the MP aspect there was a lot to patch to make inventory radios work correctly.
Are you sure you aren't just experiencing the radio's range? Each radio has a broadcasting range depending on the type and if you get outside of that range no one will hear you/see your text chat messages
This is for VOIP and text chat on MP servers. In the vanilla game, unless you follow an annoying sequence of steps, when you unequip your radio from your hand it automatically turns off. So if you were holding your radio and chatting with someone and you have to quickly equip a weapon for some reason (you get jumped by a horde or another player for example), the radio is turned off automatically and your on your own
People get this implication from the mod name 'keep the radio on' meaning the radio stays on no matter the channel.
