Where can I see the new version?

No idea why this isn't a basegame peak mod!!!!

@barkingnoise

Much thanks for your bug report, I can reproduce the issue in my side by the step you provide.

I already update a new version 2.0.3 to fix it.

Thanks

(I have your orbital ring deconstructor mod as well - and I caught the problem pretty early - so it is more of a question of *why* it seems to have started doing this after unlocking orbital rings)
barkingnoise 9 Jun @ 4:36pm
Additional note: the constructor also sets upon the task to upgrade the orbital rings it seems like? Several of them were Level 2 when I discovered what had happened.
The only previous indicator to this was that the "Right click build starbase (outpost)" had a silly amount of Alloy cost (which I now assume to be the total alloy cost put together) before clicking.
It also seemed to be prepared to build it upon every available spot (if the constructors waypoint markers were any indication)

Hi!
I'm having a similar problem as Dagotho, except my constructors start building orbital rings on every possible planetary body *after I right-click to order them to construct starbase (outposts) in new systems*.
It is as if it is queuing "orbital rings over uninhabitated planets" after the initial starbase outpost (for claiming systems).
This only started occurring after I researched orbital rings on my current save.

I find it strange that it adds these things to build queue after *outposts* when otherwise nothing is supposed to be able to be built/queued directly after an outpost.

I am also using a plethora of mods, among them gigastructures as well as "Starbase over uninhabitated planets" (as well as Real Space's Planetary Stations") but like I said, it only started occurring after I researched orbital rings - and it only started queuing Orbital Rings from this mod (as I had not been able to colonize any planets in those systems yet)

A few mods had fixes or I set the mod incorrectly when loading. Because I'm testing different modifications in Stellaris, if I find the specific cause of this small anomaly, I'll give a specific list with the mod versions. Thank you for your interest :)

@Dagotho
I do a simple test with enable the mod list you said, start a new game, destroy most of the mining/research station of the start system, build an Orbital Ring for Uninhabitable Planet on Mercury, then set auto build for the construction ship, then I don't see any strange action it do, all the station be rebuilt is mining/research station.

On version 3.14 I used the same combination of mods and there was no such problem. So I was very surprised.

Orbital Ring for Uninhabitable Planet The mod is very useful for building additional defense on the borders. And when combined with the mods I wrote, strange problems occur, I don't know if it's a problem in the order or in loading the modifications.

Gigastructural Engineering & More (4.0) + Additional Mega-Engineering Projects + Megastructure Remover + UI Overhaul Dynamic + !!Universal Modifier Patch (4.0.*) - I had such a set of mods when I saw that on every planet in the system after auto construction I had an orbital ring. I hope this information will help find the cause of this strange phenomenon.

@Dagotho

It's seems can't reproduce easily in my side, do you have this issue happened without using other mod together?
Dagotho 9 May @ 11:30am
Why set auto build constructor ship and build orbital ring for all planet in system , instead of mining facilities ?
Rotiti  [author] 8 Mar @ 7:36am
@makoaluveaux

yes it should.
makoaluveaux 8 Mar @ 7:24am
Does this work in 3.14.15?
Rotiti  [author] 18 Jan @ 3:31am
@Janlitschka

You can use it without start a new game.
After add some of them then remove this mod may cause unexpected behavior.
Remulus 17 Jan @ 10:33am
Is it save game compatible?

Is it possible to make a 3.6.1 version for this mod?

I miss this mod

Hi! Can you please add pc_machine_broken to the list of allowed planet classes ? ModJam2024 has a nice system with machine world and three pc_machine_broken moons.

sky_orbital_ring_uip.txt
Line 57
+ is_planet_class = pc_machine_broken

I can make a pull request if you have github repo :)

@The Worthless Gamer

It is possible, so I add the feature now.

But anyway, it seems official doesn't think we will try to add an orbital ring to asteroid, so it can't be displayed when built on asteroid (maybe the model is in the asteroid itself I guess). But you can still click it and has function correctly.

Or you can try my another mod

It will build a starbase instead and also have special function for it without model can't be seen issue.
The Worthless Gamer 27 Sep, 2024 @ 9:49pm
is there a variant that allows orbital rings on asteroids?
Rotiti  [author] 17 Sep, 2024 @ 10:33pm
Yes, I make this one not mark as megastructure, so it should be still can build Habitats and Orbitals on them.
VI6 D DARK KING 14 Sep, 2024 @ 12:34pm
Can you still build Habitats and Orbitals?
OdditySphere 16 Apr, 2023 @ 10:36pm
I don't suppose this mod works with 3.7?
Beast-Storm 14 Apr, 2023 @ 1:44pm
Alright Thanks @Rotiti
Rotiti  [author] 14 Apr, 2023 @ 3:29am
@Beast-Storm

I don't know if I have any misunderstanding about your comment.

Orbital Rings (and Orbital Rings technology) is only available when you have Overlord DLC, and mods about Orbital Rings almost be done base on official Orbital Ring model and design. So without Overlord DLC, you can't get this mod to work.
Beast-Storm 14 Apr, 2023 @ 2:41am
I (might) have a mod incompatibility that conflicting with this mod called Starbase Building and Modules by Saxon

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1834615504&searchtext=saxon

I can't seem to get the Orbital Ring tech (even with all the prerequisite tech already researched) due to Saxon's mod having extra building modules for the Orbital Rings

I'm almost considering getting the Overlord DLC if I can't find a way to get these two mods to work

Any other ideas or do you have an suggestions?
kinngrimm 15 Jan, 2023 @ 3:06am
so it would be a tech dependency i first need to research, got it.
Rotiti  [author] 14 Jan, 2023 @ 10:22pm
I think it is the same as the default orbital ring.
kinngrimm 14 Jan, 2023 @ 4:22am
when does the decision to build the rings come available? any certain tech i need to have first?
Commander Star 13 Jan, 2023 @ 3:58pm
MUHAHAHAHAHA! FULL SYSTEM ORBITIAL DEFENSE SYSTEM! YOU WANT MY HOMEWORLD!? YOU GONNA TO FIGHT ALL THE WAY THERE!

I always hated not able to build Orbital Ring on uninhabited worlds/planets, especially if there is one RIGHT NEXT TO THE SPACELANE, I don't need economic boost, I just want a fortress right in front of the door >w<
Neverminder 20 Sep, 2022 @ 12:45am
ok, i think i understand. we need the Galactic Wonders ascension perk, right? And then research Ring World tech. This requires Utopia DLC in that case
Neverminder 20 Sep, 2022 @ 12:07am
i can't figure out how to start building these. i have the "Spaceport Building with Orbital Station" mod installed, and that works fine. Are the rings locked behind a technology?
