Understood, thanks for responding. Shame that I didn’t know it early, lost my mistress during child birth. Love your mods tho :INGANOCK_emo_02:

@Raiskyl 热恋中 I just had a look and the two mods aren't compatible as they both edit the same file to do very similar things. If you use the "Pregnancy Complications: Disabled" game rule in my mod you won't experience any more deaths during childbirth, removing the need for the other mod.

Greetings Bakan, mind if I ask if the mod itself works with 'No More Dead Mothers During Child Birth', thank you kindly lad! (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2231246088&searchtext=no+more+death+mothers)

@JayJ Thank you for your continued support!

Thank you for the fast update @Bakon! ♥

Now I want to create an Abortion mod to let the player right click "have abortion" on any pregnant character.
TurtleShroom 17 Mar, 2024 @ 10:39am
Thank God. I hate abortion so much that I can't even tolerate seeing it in fiction. This is a Godsend.
Bakon  [author] 15 Oct, 2023 @ 6:41pm
@Frank Hollow Of course, thank you for taking the time to do so and for letting me know. The idea of your mod makes so much sense it should honestly be a base game feature. For increased visibility, I added a link to your patch in the compatibility section of this mod's description.
Frank Hollow 15 Oct, 2023 @ 3:31am
Hey, a user of my mod, Remember the Nameless , was having issues running our mods at the same time, so I spun up a simple compatibility patch. I thought I'd let you know and I hope you're okay with that.
Bakon  [author] 11 Aug, 2023 @ 4:23pm
@Doozer64 Thank you! I'll be sure to include your translation alongside the next version of the mod, which should release shortly after the upcoming Wards & Wardens update.

Hi there, i wrote a german localization for this. If you add me to your friends list i can send it to you.

@The Dark Lord Revan Honestly, your best bet would be to load an older save file from before the pregnancy was conceived. Save editing is its own beast and it's easy to corrupt your save by accident. If the oldest save you have is while the pregnancy is already in progress you can edit the save file by following these instructions [ck3.paradoxwikis.com]. You'll have to locate the part of the save that details the pregnancy outcome and adjust it to the desired one by referencing the base game files.
The Dark Emperor 31 Jul, 2023 @ 10:49am
@bakon
The save file, what would I write? how do i even edit it.
Bakon  [author] 28 Jul, 2023 @ 10:02pm
@The Dark Lord Revan Which file would you like to edit? If it's one of the mod files, as long as you're subscribed here on Steam it should update automatically. Or are you referring to your save file?
The Dark Emperor 28 Jul, 2023 @ 3:56pm
@bakon So how would you edit the file?
Cirdain 12 Jul, 2023 @ 6:10pm
Hey cheers, thanks for the quick turnaround on that!
Bakon  [author] 12 Jul, 2023 @ 1:58pm
@Cirdain Oh no! I believe the problem is that the Player's spouses and concubines are not considered to be "close family" by the game and instead fall under the separate "consorts" classification. I've updated the mod with this in mind and hopefully it resolves the issue. If you're reloading a save, make sure it's before conception (~2 months before the pregnancy announcement) and not just birth to allow the changes to the mod to take effect as I believe the pregnancy outcome is decided at or shortly after conception.
Cirdain 12 Jul, 2023 @ 8:32am
Had the Complications game rule set to Disabled Limited, and my wife and child both died in childbirth.

When my genius sidepiece lost three children within days of getting pregnant last evening I knew something was up, thanks for this.
CaliBlueBear 17 May, 2023 @ 9:31am
I’ll check it out and let you know! Thanks!
Bakon  [author] 17 May, 2023 @ 12:19am
@CaliBlueBear 1.9 introduced a change to the visual presentation of pregnancy events. The mod has been updated to reflect this change. Also (hopefully) fixed the effects of game rules not always being active when they should be. I have yet to play the game since the latest update, so as always please let me know if you notice any part of the mod not working as intended.
CaliBlueBear 16 May, 2023 @ 7:18pm
Does this need an update for 1.9?
Bakon  [author] 12 Feb, 2023 @ 10:30pm
@child_of_air Thank you for leaving a comment to report your findings. I'm glad this mod isn't the culprit and hope you can find which one is so you can get back to playing.
HeirandtheSpare 9 Feb, 2023 @ 7:07pm
Update: Okay, so the issue isn't with your mod. Sorry that I jumped to conclusions thinking that it was. I actually have no idea what mod the issue is from so I'm still doing some testing. I'll post once I find the culprit, if you're interested.
Bakon  [author] 27 Jan, 2023 @ 7:20pm
@child_of_air In that case, the next step would be to run the game with just this mod to see if the problem persists. I double-checked this mod's code to be sure and the only thing that's changed from the base game in regards to pregnancy termination is a single line that lowers the AI's chance to choose that option when it comes up to zero if using the appropriate game rule. Based on what you described, it appears that the game is registering the pregnancy, but failing to update the relevant mother with the appropriate events, traits, etc. The event pertaining to the mother realizing she's pregnant and giving her options on how to proceed failing to properly fire would almost certainly be a symptom of this larger problem, rather than the cause.
HeirandtheSpare 27 Jan, 2023 @ 4:36pm
Yes, I use quite a few, but nothing that touches abortion. The only thing I can think of that might conflict would be a mod that allows you to choose the sex of your baby. But your mod is loaded near the bottom. It could in fact be those two conflicting, but I want to keep that one .
Bakon  [author] 27 Jan, 2023 @ 1:49pm
@child_of_air Thank you for taking the time to report your findings. Are you using any other mods when this behavior occurs?
HeirandtheSpare 24 Jan, 2023 @ 12:42am
Okay, so I tried this out again by having an affair, and low and behold it did the same thing. There was no "event" telling me I was pregnant, I just popped the baby out without showing any signs of pregnancy or with a choice to abort or come clean. So, I'm taking this out for now, because in theory it's a great mod, but it doesn't work for the player.
HeirandtheSpare 6 Jan, 2023 @ 5:58pm
Great, thank you!
Bakon  [author] 6 Jan, 2023 @ 4:55pm
@child_of_air If working as intended, this mod should only affect AI behavior and leave the player's options unchanged. I've gone ahead and updated the mod for the current game version. There is one minor line of code that Paradox added to the current version of the game's events/pregnancy_events file that I carried over to the mod's counterpart. I wouldn't think this would cause the issue you described but I would give the newest version of the mod a shot just in case. If the problem still persists, please let me know. At that point I would assume there is either a mod conflict or a bug in the vanilla game.
HeirandtheSpare 5 Jan, 2023 @ 7:15am
I like this mod, but I would prefer an option where the AI doesn't have an abortion, but there is an option for the player too. Currently I didn't see this option being available, and it would be better if it could be. Why? Because I noticed that when I got pregnant with my lover's child, I didn't have a normal pregnancy, the baby just came out with no warning or no signs of pregnancy. It was strange.
Bakon  [author] 5 Nov, 2022 @ 3:52pm
@What is Love? Thank you! I included your Russian translation in the latest update for the mod.
🎅🏻What is Love?🎅🏻 5 Nov, 2022 @ 7:52am
I translated your mod into Russian. Please add it if it is not difficult for you.

I think pregnancy was a wrong assumption on my part, just saw suicide of another character, but she didn't have many pregnancies. She was just old: so I guess they commit suicide because of old age. Not sure why, but it seems to check out with other cases. Thanks anyway.
Bakon  [author] 29 Sep, 2022 @ 6:51pm
@shay I honestly couldn't say for sure. My thinking was that having a child die is one of the few triggers that allows that AI to take the commit suicide decision. I'm not sure if having multiple children die (from the "stress death chain" or otherwise) increases this chance or not. Either way, as long as it isn't tied to pregnancy directly, I don't think it would fall under the scope of this mod.
shay 29 Sep, 2022 @ 3:04am
On another thought, however, would it say then that the character died of stress, not because of suicide? Also, I added some stress relieve traits to these characters, so it's definitely less likely.
shay 29 Sep, 2022 @ 3:01am
Yeah, possibly, I would have to check. But it happened to many of the pinned characters for me, might be also infamous pinned character curse 😉
Bakon  [author] 28 Sep, 2022 @ 11:00pm
@shay Hmm, I haven't experienced that personally. Did their children die prior? I could see a scenario in which the infamous "stress death chain" could cause this to occur.
shay 28 Sep, 2022 @ 10:41am
Any way you could add no suicides too? For some reason women after many pregnancies commit suicide on masse in my games.
Bakon  [author] 26 Sep, 2022 @ 10:57pm
@Samurye I'm glad to hear!
Samurye 26 Sep, 2022 @ 4:39pm
So far as I can tell, the update has completely fixed my problem. Thank you very much for putting in all that effort for one guy's issue!
Bakon  [author] 23 Sep, 2022 @ 4:11pm
@child_of_air It shouldn't, as long as the mod in question does not also override the events/pregnancy_events file.
HeirandtheSpare 23 Sep, 2022 @ 1:18pm
Will this conflict with mods that allow the player to have an abortion at any time?
Bakon  [author] 22 Sep, 2022 @ 11:02pm
@Samurye I've gone ahead and updated the mod to CK3 version 1.7.1. Only very minor changes were needed and they should not have impacted the mod to such a degree, if at all. Nevertheless, hopefully this resolves the issue. If not, please let me know what game rules options you're running from this mod as well as what other mods you're running and I'll see if I can't figure out what the issue may be.
Samurye 22 Sep, 2022 @ 7:55pm
This mod doesn't seem to be working for me. Women are still losing their babies and such. I'm still trying things out to see if it's just an issue with my load order or something, but do you know if there have been any changes in the latest patch that may have affected this mod?
亲爱的老父亲 10 Sep, 2022 @ 7:46am
FANTASTIC MOD! i can make more baby with my daughters:steamthumbsup:
Bakon  [author] 3 Sep, 2022 @ 3:03pm
@4X-Fan Thank you! The "Default (no Player exception)" option for the "Pregnancy Complications" game rule removes the modifiers reducing/removing the player's chance of dying during childbirth as well as becoming ill during pregnancy. This puts the player on an even playing field with the AI, meaning the aforementioned complications should affect the player as often as it does the AI, assuming comparable circumstances.
4X-Fan 3 Sep, 2022 @ 1:35am
A great mod! I use it to play more on equal terms with the AI (by using the "no player exception" and disabling pregnancy terminations for the AI) setting. I assume the enabled complications for the player include the possibilty of dying during giving birth?
