As far as I know it still works. And yes it works with any planet that has water. You want some deeper water though.

I'm debuging my game and trying to figure out if this is the problem. IThe error is in the log file listed as something that build info picked up.

> [BuildInfo] Means the spawn group has no prefabs or 0 spawn radius or 0 frequency.

I checked the files that it said to check and nope!!! No radius variable at all. Where do i put it in he respective files?

Although it spawns a submarine, its not programmed to go underwater as far as I know. That's something I'd like to add to the new version.

Saw it mentioned back in 2022 but nothing since, was wondering if this mod spawns boats that can go underwater or if it is still just surface fighting?

To force them to spawn without water would require a rewrite of them into a "station" rather than a "ship". Though sunken hulks for the desert planet is something to think about for a future mod.

As for the spawn depth. I've looked into the spawn depths and have started a rewrite of this mod. Will take some time because of life. But it is something that we are aware of.

Oh man, these would be awesome on Pertam with a little rusting. Like from the mod Rust Mechanics or Survival Extended. Is there any way to force them to spawn on Pertam even without water?

is there a away to adjust the spawn depth? the current water planet am on hovers around 190m for depth so they don't trigger very often.

If I was running my own surface ships, these things would seriously scare me, although I've noticed they sink VERY easily. Not enough for them to go down completely, but enough for them to submerge all their guns. I would suggest maybe replacing their hydrogen engines with reactors, which will free up those tanks to be used for extra buoyancy.

I have seen ships get pushed really hard by this deformation so it could be that. I am still working on a newer version of this mod, including more encounters, updated ships, and some complementary mods to go with it but I'm currently bogged down in working toward a Program Development degree (which has really helped me understand how to work this mod) I'll add this to my notes to update the battleship design to.

No I have never had that issue before. The only time I've seen ships leave the water is when the main engines point down for some reason and the ship leaves the water point up into the air, but that's while blowing them up. I've never seen this hopping before. The only other thing I can think of is phantom torque also known as Klang. The Judgment uses railguns built on custom built turrets. I've found that the block deformation can have some serious Klang problems as the blocks get deformed and push on each other. So my newer designs use designs to prevent deformation while in combat.

@Luvstruckmango iv'e noticed that when fighting against the IFM Judgement Class Battleship it jumps out of the water and never goes back into it, it just jumps along. Ever had this issue?

That means there's no blueprint for them to spawn. Could just be a bug, but I haven't see the large cargo vessel spawn either. For now just ignore it. I'm working on a rebuild of the mod and it should take care of that.

I'm getting prefab errors in my logfile. This is the errors:

Spawn group initialization: Could not get prefab (NPC-IFM) Razor Autocannon Drone
Spawn group initialization: Could not get prefab (NPC-IFM) Large Cargo Vessel

Any suggestions?

it appears to me that the warrior class doesn't actually float? it doesn't even look like it has any hydrogen tanks and when it first spawned in after i dealt with the aircraft that came with it and got close in my aircraft it was sunk without any effort on my part

This mod spawns NPC boats for players to interact with in a single NPC faction. The depth of water it will begin to spawn ships is currently set to 200 in the coding (Something I learned recently) I'm currently working on updates for this mod to add new ships, new drones, and other features, including loot and vehicles that players will be able to capture and tweak the spawning. I'm not really sure what you mean by "it doesn't actually say whether it will same npcs or not".

I do actually. Pakeha has been discussing moving on in life. He's got a family to take care of and I'm super excited for him to go for his dreams. I've been studying up on how to do the mod and feel like I've got a good grasp on what I need to do. I've been developing new ships for the mod, going over the existing ships in the mod and plan on either pushing an update (if it will just let me update it) or creating a new mod all together.

From what I understand from talking with Pakeha, there is a minimum water ratio required to spawn them. I don't know what that is, but the deeper the water the better chances for spawning. Some of the larger ships do have a deeper draft so they'll need deeper water. But yes that does effect the spawn possibility due to needing enough water.

I don't have much luck getting a IFM spawn in my game so I used the MES command to get all possible spawn, I notice there's a Water Coverage Ratio being calculated, does that effect the spawn possibility?

I later tested at a place with more water and it is spawning IFM stuff

I'm not sure about the PCU thing. It could be. Thank you for sharing. Others have found that increasing the height of the water level helps as well.

I can confirm it has to do something with PCU, I deleted all but 10k of pcu and ships instantly spawned in

I can go into huge detail of what I have and such but the gist is, I had a couple ships spawn. Now with the same setup nothing spawns. in the list of things that can spawn is all the ships. I'm curious if this uses a pcu thing? that is the only real difference that has occurred.

Hi all, someone brought it to my attention that they found by increasing the height of the water level and sailing out onto the water with a ship that has sufficient threat score things will spawn more often.

So I have a theory. Just a theory so far. Pakeha is certain the code is working correctly. So I don't think that things not spawning is the code. I can't duplicate the problem where nothing spawns. But I don't play with any weapon mods that are capable of shooting beyond 2 km. So my theory: If memory serves me right, Pakeha and I decided that we didn't want to have ships spawn inside weapon ranges. This is largely because the ships we put into the mod will automatically target enemies up to 2km away if they have weapons to do so. So if you are playing with mods capable of targeting great distances then the ship are spawning outside render distance, which is why you may not be seeing anything. Just a theory though.

Okay. I got in touch with Pakeha. There are spawn commands, though you need to use the mod that allows for you to use commands. I didn't know that even existed and Pakeha can't remember which mod it is since it's been a while. But yes there are. And what are the weapon ranges for the weapon mods? I'm not familiar with Terram Titans or Rodrins Arsenal.

Yes. The Guardian Carrier is part of the mod. Its supposed to be close to a boss level spawn. Glad you loved it though!

Well, I started a new playthrough and it spawned to me while away from base, with a 15 Threat Score aircraft. I managed to take out the Hornet drones it scrambled with the help of some Assertive bystanders. :v
But the carrier made me regret having set my base on shore. It sent me back to the stone age in less than a minute after starting their assault...
I mean, I don't know if that's how you guys intended it to work, but I loved it!

So, I finally found an IFM vessel! Although, just once in 5 hours of game session and just a small cargo, even though I had more than 2k Threat Score.

Also, I found some errors regarding loading spawn groups. It's in the Alt+11 menu, if I'm not mistaken. It's from SpawnGroups and SpawnGroups-NonCombat. BuildInfo explains it could be the spawn group has no prefabs, 0 spawn radius or 0 frequency.

I'll try re-installing the mod later to see if it's not a problem on my part or something.

That's good info to know. I'll talk with Pakeha about that too. Most of the time I've been flying around in an aircraft when I see them spawn so I'm not sure what's going on. When I have more information, I'll let you konw.

I see. I tried something in these conditions, sailing, and got IEC to spawn lol
IFM, though, is nowhere to be found. In 3 hours of wandering around the oceans, it's quite weird.

Also, until now, I was flying while exploring. This time I was actually sailing. I don't know if it even makes any difference.

I've often found that I find them by sailing out into the water. They don't tend to spawn near my bases that much. I'll message Pakeha and see what Pakeha says.

The mod is applied to my game, there's plenty of water all around, my Threat Score is just above 1000, and yet, I can't seem to find any IFM ships.

The ships spawn based upon the danger level you represent with your own grids. There's a link for the danger scale in the description. Basically it counts blocks and adds them up as a point system. Once you cross over certain levels of danger for the AI ships they'll start spawning.
