@Zigg Price - That is not something we can particularly explain to you in brief, as it's a central part of the AML O+E project that is slowly going through every notable mod on the Workshop to establish the full, exact package load order (through a vast amount of experimentation and exploding the engine).

There is a fantastic article on X2 load orders that can be read here [robojumper.github.io]

As such, there is no definitive answer we can give you. The only thing we can do, is provide the current XcomEngine.INI the AML O+E uses to specify the package load order, which on it's own would not be helpful without editing 'every other mod it interacts with', due to the nature of potentially knocking out the LW_TUPLE or XMODBASE.

@Leyshade - What changes would need to be done? I am pretty adept, at this point, with just playing around in ini files, but I have never really tackled load order issues.

For those experiencing issues, this is a classic case of load order in the XcomEngine.ini not being specificed across the community such that this, when combined with certain other mods out of the box, will likely crash by not loading in essential packages correctly.

Unless people are willing to learn to modify the mods INI files, or, download one of the many expertly crafted pack sets that pre-configure the game to work with various modules, there is little that can be done, until either the Highlander, AML or O+E teams can complete the ouroborous job of persistently catching up to every mod and every update for every mod.

This mod is incompatible with Verge Squadmate mod.

The result of trying to load both is either an infinite load screen or the game just crashes. I'm not sure why or how that happens since those two mods should have zero overlap other than both being related to soldier classes.

I think I might have narrowed the issue to the file: "XComGearsPerkPack"
But I don't know how to open it to see for myself. I'll keep looking around and see if I can figure something out however... given that it's been nearly 2-3 years since either of those mods were updated, a fix from an amateur like me is very unlikely.

I mean, I'll try, but I can't guarantee anything because if it was easy someone smarter than me would've done it by now. :(

@General Disarray I ran a test campaign with the Alternative Mod Launcher with just the Proficiency Classes and these classes. The game would not load. Removing this group of classes allowed the game to load. I only had these class mods in the mix, nothing else.

I wanted to leave some feedback after finishing a campaign. I made my own RPGO versions of each class, but I copied everything exactly as it was in your class data, so I'm pretty sure I found a few bugs. Active reload, unnerve, and menacing don't seem to have any effect in game. I looked in a few places but I don't get any kind of pop-up or text anywhere that shows that they applied.

Also, terrified doesn't work as advertised. It's supposed to disorient enemies when you kill something, but when i used it it caused enemies to panic on critical hits. It seemed to work the same way as fearsome from extended perk pack.

Those are the ones I noticed in game. Most of the other skills work fine.

@4rrakis His comments about the mods working are very useful. Even if they where not it's perfectly normal comment for a mod. It is funny how you are asking HIM to change perspective while at the same time you have misinterpreted the very purpose of the existence of the comment section to fit your own selfish perception. Next to the "subscribe to thread" button there is a question mark, hover over it and it will tell you precisely what to expect from the action of ticking the box. Which happens to be different from what you want but that's ok because you are not the center of the universe, believe it or not.

@Frizzeldian12 I get that, and I am sure modders appreciate it. But see it from this perspective: Many people subscribe to the comments of the mods they use to get informed of possible problems or updates. Imagine waking up, checking your steam messages and having to click through hundreds of those.

You can disable a class by editing the class mod's xcomclassdata.ini. At the top of the file there is a line for each class the mod provides. Put a ; in front of the line and the class won't appear.
While I have your attention: Please stop spaming your thank you notes, it is beyond annoying for people who are subscribed to many mod comments and get get a notice for each one.

Want a hit and damage configuration on Anchor from Heavy class, 10% and 1 damage bonus per level seems too good for me.

@Beagle Not yet. Unfortunately, have been a bit swamped to get back into modding off late, but I promise I will reorganize and config-ify the perks as soon as I am able to get back into it.

Scout class is seriously bugged man. Using the slash ability or throwing grenades is crashing game.

It appears this mod is not compatible with rpgo and would need a compatibility sub-mod. Additionally a specialization submod similar to the one for the rising tides perk pack would be awesome!

Always nice to see something like this being ported to XCOM - that being said, though, this pack could definitely use a list of classes and perks on its main page for those who either don't know how to find the readme or for those who are too lazy to do so.

Tactics is such an underrated game. I just beat it for the second time today and I think I like it more than xcom. If it was for all the mods I would stick to tactics exclusively

I gonna give within another few months or so that someone will make a GT classes and their rookie rank will be completely different from normal Xcom soldiers.
3 actions, grenade cooldowns, etc., you name one.

I've been wanting to try Gears Tactics, and it looks like this might be a nice introduction for the game's classes and abilities within a more familiar environment. I got a couple of "stupid" questions though:

What are the perks in this pack, and what do they do? Could we have a list, or a spreadsheet of them?

What big mods are these perks compatible with? (RPGO, LW2, LWOTC, CI, etc.)

When you said that you had done "a partial playthrough with the classes" do you mean the original game classes or new classes from Gears?
