Ill play thru'm again with your critique in mind :D.
I just wish you actually stayed on fire for ALOT longer before you died... I prettymuch have to put the fire-cat right in front of the obstacle, which prettymuch gives the solution away. I'm proud of my lil toast/laser fire/waterjump room :3 It used to be a different puzzle completely until a friend complained about it, then I had the brillant idea of uppercutting the toast into the laser so the toast catches fire, so it can catch you on fire, then fire/water jump up .
I think I could work on TripleRun alot though... make each run slightly different with the removal of the blocks for each run. Kinda wish you could change dimensions during a Build. Not much room to work with when I limited myself.
Pros:
- Firstly the original obstacles you do have are very well done! I need to commend you on that. Very well done. For example the running across spikes while on fire is very cool, I didn’t even know you could do that.
- The levels look good. Nice colour pallettes, none of which are repeating too often. Nice.
- Strawberry placement is good throughout, with the exception of some of the secret ones.
All in all, they’re pretty ok. But there is definetly parts that could be improved. But your level design has lots of potential, just keep working at it. But right now, I’d give the levels a range of 6/10 - 8/10 depending on the level.
Hope this helps!
- Sir Robo
cons continued
- Speaking of signage, some of it is unclear. Also some just point out secrets, they're secrets, don't point them out, thats what the pink bird is for, a subtle hint. Also some places need more direction, I had to poke around for the exit in some levels. Also warn people about spikes and water more.
- Then there is the fact there is lots of borrowed obstacles from the game, while this isn't really a problem, it just shows a lack of originality.
Alright, as promised here's some critique. Don't take this personally, this is just what I think would better your level design, along with some things that you did very well already. In genral the levels are alright, but here's some things I noticed.
Cons:
- In some levels they're aren't many checkpoints, which causes frustration when you die and have to do a huge part over again.
- In others, I found, there were just big blank spaces, long paths to get to the next obstacle for example. I don't know, for me at least it's just awkward. Try to fill all the space you're using, even if that just means adding signs or brush.
k, i know whatcha mean now :3 I tried to avoid doing that but guess a few slipped thru... i can just spikefloor the last tile of each row.
Check the second encore in the top left.
Thanks for the fun!
Changed a few things and altered the order of the stages... I was proud of my C47-5 stage, so I took it out of the Encores since some ppl skip'm.
-Maude; I made the "Rock toss" challenge ALOT easier, but still follows the same concept.
-Poise; the secret-fall area, made it a lil more secret instead of just in the way.
-:D Animals :D ; the fuzzy/laser downward spiral... for some reason falling to the left was harder than it was to fall to the right, so i made the left fall wider.
-Fire&Shocks; altered the toast room to just 1toaster instead of 2, which I find annoying. And noticed the topright room was able to Enter it even though it was supposed to be used as an escape teleporter from the 'cross-fire' room.
-Fire!; altered the teleporter once I noticed that if you "climb along the bars and enter the teleporter" it really messes it up for some reason.
saw your stuff with the spamming you do everywhere, u deserve more attention fella
take an upvote and my collection of used monster cans i know you will take good care of it!
'Wind' had 0 checkpoints, fixed.
'Maude' made it so the rock challenge was optional, for extra shinys & CAKE!.
'Cold Shocks', fixed the pingpong cat-room so it's impossible (I hope) to pacify/neutralize the pingpongcat.
'Fire!', Suggested that I make the Toast room easier, which made me think of an entirely different puzzle altogether :3.
'Fire&Spikes', suggested that I make the crossfire easier... it was suicidal before & also make the secret boat room more noticable.
Even though I think it's one of my best/favorite puzzles it causes alot of rage & I do this with a heavy heart :(.
Unless you guys demand that it becomes mandatory again.
Please let me know:
If you manange to break a stage, if a stage could use more checkpoints, or if a "necessary" cat is killable, etc.
