@Koeiss - thank you for the update. I am glad the issues are resolved. Enjoy the route and please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Koeiss 15 Jan @ 8:58pm
@mikeov1985 Thankfully, I got it working. there were a couple missing files, and I cleared the cache. The route is fantastic. Thanks for your help!
Koeiss 15 Jan @ 7:13pm
@mikeov1985 I will try those and see if anything works
mikeov1985  [author] 15 Jan @ 3:56pm
@Koeiss - thank you for the responses. You are running everything the way I am, so that isn't the issue. Have you tried reinstalling the route from the workshop? It's possible that Steam didn't bring down a file that is required. You could also try running Steam's "Verify integrity of game files" to ensure all DLC files are downloaded. Sometimes clearing the cache inside of TSC fixes these types of issues as well, although I wouldn't hold my breath on that. You could also try to decrease your TSC graphics settings to make sure that isn't a cause. Hopefully one of those suggestions can help you out.

@mikeov1985 I am using 64 bit, non DX12, and am using the stable build
mikeov1985  [author] 15 Jan @ 1:28pm
@Koeiss - What launch option do you select when launching TSC? (64-bit, 32-bit, or 64-bit with DX12?) Also, are you using TSC BETA or the stable v77.6b release?
Koeiss 15 Jan @ 12:12pm
@mikeov1985 Yes, I have all the required DLC
mikeov1985  [author] 15 Jan @ 11:48am

Hey, I love how this route looks from what I've seen of it, but unfortunately it seems to crash as soon as I try to load anything on it. Editor, Quick Drive, and Scenarios have this issue. Any insight would be greatly appreciated

@ShadowSteel18 - Thank you for making the video and sharing with us. I enjoyed watching the Frisco 1522 roll through Oshkosh.
ShadowSteel18 [The Otaku] 27 Dec, 2024 @ 10:28pm
Just letting you know that I did a Video on this route featuring Machine Rail's Frisco 1500s. Even though it feels a bit unfinished it was still nice to recreate part of the 1522's 1988 Break-in Runs.

Awesome!

@arktiem - thank you much for the kind words. Comments such as yours keep me going with further route building. :steamhappy: Phase 2 of the FVC is coming along slower than I had hoped, but when done, it will extend the route north of Oshkosh to Neenah and Menasha. (aka the southern half of 'paper valley') I hope to push Phase 2 to beta in the coming weeks, but I want to at least finish all track scenery before I do that. ( mainly due to issues that occurred when FVC Phase 1 went to beta and Steam wasn't pushing route updates to a few users, which caused scenarios to error for them after release )

Hey, my friend... this is one beautiful route! I was blown away by the LOD and the care and dedication you have for making this route what it is! What I said to N.S's about his first scenario for this route also holds true for you... DTG should be studying this route to see the way they are supposed to be made! You have blown the payware routes right out of the water (well, maybe more appropriately blew their trains right off their tracks). Great work and I look forward to updates and what else you have brewing in that brain of yours. Thank you soooo very much for all your hard work. Creators like you and Not Silent are what make the sim great and fun! Take care and onto the next work order! :choo::chooo::choooo:

Hi mikeov1985.
I have published the first in this collection of 10. N.S1171 Fox Valley Corridor.
I hope it meets your expectations (from an Aussie!).
A short scenario to start, to get used to the route, and to allow checking the history vs Google Maps, and then I increase scenario length as I go along. I hope to get some useful feedback.
This route is up there with the best available by anyone/developers.
Cheers:steamhappy:
mikeov1985  [author] 6 Aug, 2024 @ 8:54pm
Hi Not.Silent. You're very welcome. Let me know if you need any additional information. I'd be glad to help if I can. I look forward to seeing your scenarios.
Not.Silent 6 Aug, 2024 @ 8:51pm
Hi mikeov1985. Thank you for replying so promptly.
What you have provided is a great help. I will use these for my series. I am really looking forward to creating some slower relaxing low-key scenarios. Recently I have been creating a lot of high speed / express freight. Your route will be a nice change for me. Best regards
mikeov1985  [author] 6 Aug, 2024 @ 5:38pm
@Not.Silent - Thank you for your interest in the route. Unfortunately there is not much applicable content for this route in the era in which this takes place, which is between 1970 and 1990. There is no content in Soo Line, Wisconsin Central, or FRV liveries. The only three era-appropriate DLC are:
- EMD CNW GP9 via the Train Simulator: GP9 Loco Add-On
- MILW GP9 via the Train Simulator: GP9 Loco Add-On
- F3 CNW 01 via the Train Simulator: Union Pacific F3 Loco Add-On

Sadly that is all there is for C&NW and Milwaukee Road locomotive power.

There is also the WC SW1500 locomotive in CN livery, but that wouldn't be appropriate until after 2001.
Not.Silent 5 Aug, 2024 @ 8:56pm
Hi mikeov1985. This route is excellent. Well done. I need some help.
I intend creating a collection of 10 scenarios that I will publish. I only use DLC purchased via Steam, and want a suggestion from you, which flags/locomotives would be suitable (via Steam) for 1970 to 1980, that would be acceptable to US users and my worldwide participants.
After reading all your mind-boggling info and history, I am non the wiser what could be suitable.
I hope you can help me. Cheers
mikeov1985  [author] 31 Mar, 2024 @ 3:51pm
@Rusty_Buttons - thank you for the kind review. I too am from Oshkosh and grew up with the original WC (ex-SOO) and I felt that line, as annoying as it could be to drivers, gave Oshkosh a very unique character.
Rusty_Buttons 5 Jan, 2024 @ 2:23pm
I Live in Oshkosh and finding this brings back many memories from my childhood. All that's missing is the giant Park Plaza candle lol. Thanks so much for putting this together. It's absolutely amazing and very high quality! Back in 2010-2015 there was someone that was working on a "Packerland" project. Milwaukee to Greenbay with a line up north for lumber that never got finished. Was the last time I thought about this game until this. powahz video brought me here.
mikeov1985  [author] 13 Aug, 2023 @ 1:47pm
@Schnauzahpowahz : I did. Thank you for pointing it out in your review.
Schnauzahpowahz 13 Aug, 2023 @ 9:36am
did you touch up the map @mikeov1985 ? Noticed some veg and rock along the shorelines of the creeks and lake I swear weren't there before. looks great :104:
Cyclone 9 Aug, 2023 @ 3:51pm
Good to know. I may have to consider that before trying the route then.

Always funny how you can have way too much and still be missing something critical for something else. :steamhappy:
mikeov1985  [author] 9 Aug, 2023 @ 3:29pm
Cyclone: You may get by without the Sacramento Northern DLC ( the wig wags and a few buildings ), but the CSX Hanover DLC is needed for most of the track infrastructure and quite a bit of scenery.
Cyclone 9 Aug, 2023 @ 12:44pm
Also, how critical are CSX Hanover and Sacramento Northern to the route? I don't have either of those installed currently.
Cyclone 9 Aug, 2023 @ 12:42pm
Oh, I must have overlooked it. :steamhappy:

I hope others will create scenarios for the route to draw more people to this route. I have to give it a drive first but may run a couple of introductory videos covering the entire route if I find some good ones to use. Do you have more information available about the route that might help me discuss everything about it should I do that?
mikeov1985  [author] 9 Aug, 2023 @ 9:23am
Cyclone: Thank you for your interest in the route. I have the following link in the route's description: " Workshop Scenarios for This Route "
Cyclone 9 Aug, 2023 @ 8:49am
Note: the link in my prior comment needs to be copy and pasted into the browser, or the author can include it linked to text and it should function. :steamhappy:

Based on what Warwick Rail came up with, here is a link for scenarios for the route.

Excellent route. Many reskins over at RWA.
ShadowSteel18 [The Otaku] 12 Jul, 2023 @ 4:37am
Yes but they are now included with Sherman Hill as part of the route.
kevin1957 12 Jul, 2023 @ 12:22am
the flat car was given free a few years back as T.S rewards
mikeov1985  [author] 9 Jul, 2023 @ 6:26pm
blaine0721 - I believe I got my copy from the Battle of Sherman Hill add-on pack, but that was a few years ago. I don't know if that is still included.

I wouldn't consider that DLC a true requirement. Without the DLC you may see some milk bottles instead of army trucks in the parking lot at Oshkosh Truck near the Oshkosh Airport.
blaine0721 9 Jul, 2023 @ 5:54pm
how do you get the flatcar bc i have all the other dlc for it but that?
wi_ctl 8 Jul, 2023 @ 8:09pm
I would like to make a mention that the Wisconsin Central Railroad started in Menasha and never built a mainline to Milwaukee, WI. The WC acquired trackage rights to Milwaukee.
J Trane 8 Jul, 2023 @ 2:08pm
I will have to agree, Wisconsin routes have been neglected, it is nice to see one made, but to bad it was for this sim and not for Trainz.....I got a lot of Wisconsin routes and content for trainz, so this was not to bad to see in another sim, sucks that it needs a lot of other routes to make this one run though
USAFflight19 7 Jul, 2023 @ 7:14pm
Thank you, loving the route
mikeov1985  [author] 7 Jul, 2023 @ 6:19pm
Thank you so much for the feedback. I am very glad this route is being enjoyed by so many people.

The WC and CNW SD45 reskins were created by 'jessiejames2' on the Digirails Forums [www.tapatalk.com].

- CNW SD45s [www.tapatalk.com]
- WC SD45s [www.tapatalk.com]
USAFflight19 7 Jul, 2023 @ 4:12pm
Are the WC and CNW SD45s Publicly available? If so where did you get them? I've looked around for a bit and wasn't able to find them.
TrueRailfan01 7 Jul, 2023 @ 2:49pm
Great Route! As somebody who spent a lot of time in the Fox River Valley, I'm amazed at how accurate this route is. Keep up the good work!!!
ShadowSteel18 [The Otaku] 7 Jul, 2023 @ 1:32pm
I have a bit of a personal connection with this line. In August of 1988 St. Louis San Francisco (Frisco) 1522 pulled her first break-in runs out of Fond du Lac. One such break-in run was between Stevens Point and North Fond du Lac with a short stop in Oshkosh to set out some freight cars. What's even more ironic is that I recently commissioned the Frisco T-54s (The 1500 Class) by Machine Rails and now I have a proper place to break her in. Looking forward to seeing the completed route.
Bonsai 7 Jul, 2023 @ 10:25am
lot of DLC to get it play
Highball Simulation 7 Jul, 2023 @ 4:19am
It's fantastic to finally see a Chicago and North Western route in the simulator. Stunning work.
Snakeman1105 6 Jul, 2023 @ 6:58pm
Outstanding Job on this route!
cpr2816 6 Jul, 2023 @ 2:24pm
ok thanks
mikeov1985  [author] 6 Jul, 2023 @ 7:25am
I just released an update that corrects the Quick Drive issue. I plan to better refine the quick drive settings, but the current rudimentary one should get you on the tracks at least.
cpr2816 5 Jul, 2023 @ 11:07pm
quick drive dose no work neither dose free roam
mikeov1985  [author] 5 Jul, 2023 @ 1:59pm
Thank you Buzz! It has been a long journey and I could do more too, but I also want to get some trains rolling on these tracks. 🚂🚆🛤
bbaxter 5 Jul, 2023 @ 6:44am
I am just blown away at what a great job is done by this author in capturing the essence of this area and the awesome use of assets to convey this route. I just drove around for hours looking at the creation. Look forward to some scenarios. There are so many possibilities here. Five stars for sure.
