im not able to test it this week but will report back when i have more data!
tested in a normal world in creative.. worked fine, tested it in the "no ice" mod.. and it doesnt put out ores. sorry that it took so long for me to test this! been a rough time ( AKA blowing up my base)
After XML changes from the Meson Scanner update, the "Watts/m2" of the sun on Moon - No Ice turned into something huge! I was tempted to try digging underground to survive. I think one solar panel would have provided over a MW of poewr. LOL!
I'll be updating Mars too. It looks playable, but Mars' orbit still isn't right.
I wish developers would just incorporate good mods into the base game. If they allowed us to fine tune all our level generation, starting conditions and items it would solve the problems. Maybe in due time. The game is pretty much unplayable without the added challenge from your mods though.
I appreciate the effort.
Mars - No Ice seems to work fine though.
There is currently an obscure command to change day length:
- press F3 to bring up the dev console
- type timescale followed by a decimal number. The default for the moon looks like 0.2275 from the game files. Smaller numbers result in longer days, so something like "timescale 0.02275" should be longer. You can play with it.
- F3 or Enter closes the dev console
From the Discord, the developer says Day Length will be re-added as an option soon (maybe the next update).
one spoiler about steel - i have spent 5 in game days with trying to obtain gas from gold into furnace then one idea appear I threw small oxygen canister into furnace and of course cobalt for volatile and its done. Now i can thinking about water income.
Another glitchy way to get biomass is to build the first stage of a centrifuge. It will still suck in reagent mix if you throw it where the input slot would be. Then deconstructing the centrifuge drops biomass. Feels like an exploit to me, though.
Is there a way to make charcoal without biomass? Or a way to make biomass without a centrifuge (which requires steel).
