Thanks for the update! This is my favorite concrete mod so I'm so happy to see it updated.

I can't seem to create a bill for the bricks to concrete recipe. Both recipes seem to exist, but only the chunks recipe gets shown in the stone cutter for me. Does anyone else have this issue?
roc 21. dub. v 3.38
if there is a type of new chunk added by mod ,can it work use new chunk?

Mod updated - concrete mix can now also be made using bricks instead of chunks, though this is less effective.
[岗] Señiorita woofers 3. úno. v 13.22
I like the incresed cost in time and colonists because everything else you can build with it usually has higher hitpoints, therefore compensating for it
[岗] Señiorita woofers 3. úno. v 13.21
Overall this makes it way more expensive
[岗] Señiorita woofers 3. úno. v 13.21
Not only the colonist you have to designate but also the time you have to spend producing it
[岗] Señiorita woofers 3. úno. v 13.18
After you used up all chunks on the map, you have to actively mine or drill for them. Since the map is also limited the only viable solution is a deep drill. So in order to actively be able to build concrete floors (The simplest and cheapest floor in the game) you have to now have 2 colonist each working on a deep drill (1 for steel and one for chunks) and a third colonist for actually producing concrete. If you compare this to 1 Colonist mining steel or drilling for it, it makes it way more expensive especially in late game colonies.

P.S. this will have to be done every time the mod updates, so just repeat the process.
(shouldn't be often)

If you go into the mod file (steamapps/workshop/content/294100/2848166488), you can delete the "concreteFloorsPatch.xml" in "common/Patches" and floors will no longer use concrete mix as a resource.

Though I personally think using 5 steel + chunks is still cheaper than using only steel for floors.

@Alexander Zagirov
Ok, but to balance it, it will take a bit more work on the workbench and the conversion rate will be worse then if you only use chunks.
[岗] Señiorita woofers 3. úno. v 12.47
Option to disable concrete floor to require concrete? It currently makes the concrete floor way more expensive because it now requires chunks.
Alexander Zagirov 23. lis. 2024 v 7.05
Can you add recipe to make concrete not only with chunks but also with blocks? Usually when you rebuild walls there is a lot of materials left and it would be good to reuse em.

bro thx so much!! i only starting to learn modding

@DJ Vietnam
Add the line below to the RecipeDef of concrete mix making:

Question for ILuvSilicon, how can i change research that needed to make concrete? for example, i want it to be in advanced fabrication

Hello 1.5 update please!
Teridax 21. zář. 2023 v 17.56
Perfect!
Exactly what i was looking after when i realised my mod list needed something like concrete

Reasonable costs, vanilla like graphics and no bloat
H11F 18. lis. 2022 v 10.18
Any chance to support stone types other than vanilla?
Techy 16. lis. 2022 v 21.17
please tell me that you can eat this
PremierVader 10. lis. 2022 v 23.51
Hey I just came by to say I was looking for a simple concrete mod that also helps me build reasonably strong structures at a decent cost and after I found this mod ive never looked back. No bloat no complications just simple concrete! Many thanks.
JethroKirby 6. lis. 2022 v 14.37
Love this mod and was wondering if this has any patches to work with other mods? An example being Vanilla Expanded Architects add concrete foundations, asphalt, and broken asphalt flooring that also requires steel like in vanilla. Would be awesome if it used concrete as well

Oh my God! I love Fig Newtons!

@Frettzo
I don't like the idea of adding bulk recipes bcs it would mean pawns would have to carry 6+ chunks which would look wierd. Vanilla briks don't have bulk recipes either.
Frettzo 16. srp. 2022 v 12.51
I would like to suggest adding bulk recipes, or some kind of compatibility with stonecutting extended! otherwise, great mod. I like the balancing.
Fish n' Chips 15. srp. 2022 v 23.52
Fair enough. Thank you for the mod! Love the textures, always hated the brick design as I like to build mountain bunkers.
ILuvSilicon  [autor] 15. srp. 2022 v 23.19
I also didn't want to increase the value bcs it could make the colony value spike way up, which I doubt many people would enjoy.
ILuvSilicon  [autor] 15. srp. 2022 v 23.06
See, the issue with making it the same value comes from the fact that concrete has 2.5 strength. You get a material that is super strong and reasonably cheap. Basic rocks are good for quickly setting up a base, whereas concrete is more useful in the later stages where you can afford the extra work and cost. At least, that was my reasoning.
Fish n' Chips 15. srp. 2022 v 23.01
I like the simplicity of this but, given that it takes 3 stone chunks to make, the amount of concrete from one job should be increased. 3 stone chunks is 60 blocks, or 12 walls of stone. Concrete is making half of that number at the same price of $0.90 per item and also costs 5 steel per job, which equates to 1 steel per wall.

Just a suggestion, it's easy enough to change the value on your own, but I think it would make more sense. 60 concrete per job would make it the same value as the equivalent brick jobs for that many chunks and still be slightly less valuable due to the steel cost.

I'm guessing Silicon aKa microelectronics rather than fake gazdongs. Also, thanks for a light weight concrete mod.
Bishop Heket of the Old Faith 14. srp. 2022 v 17.46
I guess it could be added as a requirement to things like advanced components or other computer/electronic hardware.
Paulinou 14. srp. 2022 v 8.43
fake breasts man
ILuvSilicon  [autor] 14. srp. 2022 v 7.30
Yea, I am not really sure how adding silicon would be useful in RimWorld

Yeah wth

your name is "iluvsilicon" but you make a concrete mod
