NVM: works by changing to
+NumInForcedDeck=1
+NumInDeck=4
in XComClassData.ini in steamapps/workshop/content/26850/2850679312/Config
from the 0 and 2 values

I like the general idea of the class, but I'm running without psy rework and would like to add the class to the GTS. Is there an (easy) way to undo the GTS exclusion?

What does ATSR stand for? if its Zelfana's assorted fixes, apparnetly I had it installed without the config which disables most of the fixes if I read correctly. extra info is I'm using the experimental build of LWOTC, might it have somethign to do with how templars no longer have shields and thus the equipment is no long on the skill lists?

might be Zelfs ATSR config if you have it

My perk list is saying that "Mind crush" is compatible with normal shields but not the templar shield that this class equips, the skill isn't available for me

Each one you take reduces the global cooldown + some effects are better vs different enemies, Thunder/Acid on Mecs cus immune to fire, Frost vs melee/berserkers so they dont have the mobility to melee stuff other then your for indomitable, Fire for any organic enemy that isn't immune, etc

Ok, I'm getting the hang of it now, I made my bishop into an officer and that gave it some more use. Question, why are all the draconic powers on the same cooldown? They're harder to use than a flame thrower, miss occasionally, and even though there is an entire row of them, they don't get to be used terribly often. I'm missing the point of why I should ever take more than one or two.
Captain Pet Rock  [author] 20 Nov, 2023 @ 2:57pm
no, they don't have access to a dashing melee with the shard gauntlet other then xcom row stuff
xf100t 19 Nov, 2023 @ 11:42pm
Is this class supposed to be able to use the shard gauntlet to slash?
Captain Pet Rock  [author] 24 Feb, 2023 @ 3:23am
i think the same happens to templar if you give an action to templar after they one for all

Using Volt after Shieldwall makes the Bishop provide low cover instead of high, even though the visual effects for shieldwall are still active.

Dunno if it's something on your end but Meditation ended up working fine for me. It starts each mission with 0 charges until the first turn after you break concealment at which point it gains a single charge that refreshes itself once the Focus generated by it is spent.

Tried meditation, but it ended up being super buggy, for some reason with would have 0 charges when i put it at squaddie, lcpl, or cpl, and would only get a charge at sgt or higher. prolly something in the code that gives it charges based on rank. Also tried a different option of using a different Focus type (i tried flame focus from mitzruti) but that had a problem of the "mana" not working with volt

Since my current campaign is a hot mess on the geoscape and I didn't roll one of these in it I may just start a new run. I'll try these suggested tweaks myself with a forced Bishop with console early game and get back to you with further feed back once I've actually given it some testing.

Also Inspiration is a fairly bland and mediocre perk that isn't even a real option when compared to the other perks at SGT. I'd suggest swapping it out for either Hellish Rebuke or Soul Mania to support the tank role with some non-action damage output on the alien turn.

Haven't had an opportunity to play with the class yet in any of my campaigns but from my general experience of min/maxing class builds I can see a few major weak points.

The biggest is the lack of any proactive focus generation. Indomitable's reliance on tanking to generate focus means that in a typical mission where you're ambush killing your first pod there will be no opportunity to generate focus as nothing will get a chance to attack, that coupled with tanking generally being a "plan b" strategy for when you can't kill or control everything means you will be focus starved unless you pick up Channel at LCPL. I'd suggest giving them Meditate at Squaddie as a means to proactively generate Focus at the start of missions.

gauntlet upgrades increase focus, the dragon breaths are considered melee attacks, I am more or less considering a few major changes as it seems the first pass of the bishop might be undertuned
rboy3 7 Sep, 2022 @ 4:35am
Okay, no melee. But why have Cat's Meow and FInesse? My first mission with a Bishop, no one attacked her so after Ice Dragon Breath, she just stood there making shields - (next time bringing a pistol) Is there a way the Bishop can have more than 2 focus total? Thanks.
Captain Pet Rock  [author] 20 Aug, 2022 @ 9:59am
oh yeah, forgot to slam that into the required, forgot about it cus i already had it lol

Your class mods are pretty cool, keep them coming! This mod should help with the invisible gun issue non-templar soldiers have when using templar gauntlets: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2405138536

you didnt mess anything up, they are intended to be a caster style templar instead of melee, the intent is to use them as a tank to generate volt, or if you manage to get a good breath off they can do that. IF it ends up being too weak, there are some other focus generating things i can try
Accelpterius 19 Aug, 2022 @ 11:26pm
Unless I messed up something in my modlist, I don't see the Rend ability or another melee attack ability on this character.

Sounds like an awesome class! Congrats
