I found a way for myself to avoid flickering by using this https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=3039315942 and set 70/10 blood in the game settings so you will have new blood textures from the mod and minimal flicker it is extremely inconspicuous, basically you will follow the fight and you won't see anything
I know its not THIS blood mod, which I really enjoy but until its resolved then that's the best method I can find....Maybe this will help the author find a fix somehow...
It's got me thinking: what if the solution, if the engine can't handle this many decals nowadays, is to replace the vanilla decals entirely with whatever you got (or blank files) to stop the problem? Or just fiddle with the specific decal lifetimes and make them vanish instantly, if that's possible?

For example I think the engine is set to only be able to display x number of decals at once, let's say it's 100 for sake of example. When there's more than 100 decals spawned then I think the game is rotating or switching out some decals for others and this cycling causes flickers as decals momentarily disappear etc. The more decals spawned, the more flickering as more decals need to be switched out.
That's my guess anyways, it's been an issue in TW games since around when Warscape V3 was used for Warhammer I.

I'll do some more testing regarding the random huge blood decals. I will probably be able to target a fix but I need to be able to replicate the issue reliably so that I can confirm it has been dealt with.
It would be extremely handy to know when this occurs which units were involved and what was happening.
I'm going to guess it's caused by specific attacks by one enemy against specific opponents that causes some wierd maths affecting the decal spawn. It'll probably be larger units causing this and by the sounds of the feedback, flying units. It might be an ability causing it as well.
Keep the feedback coming and I'll dig into it.

I've tested in a few big battles and the textures look to be working fine, normals and reflection maps seems to be being applied correctly. There's still the engine related flicker but can't do much about that. I had one instance of huge decals on the ground which hopefully has been fixed as part of the cleanup.
