Really like your mod man, the style and the units add some much fun to the game. I play with SFO, and i did some changes because i play with 1,5x mod.

I lowered the explosion damage
I lowered the range
Damage and ap damage are 10 - 10

The visuals are super cool, thats why i didnt touch it. Love your mod man!!

After further testing, it seems to be Guv's Smoke and Gunpowder interfering somehow. They still fire their weapons with Guv's on and deal damage, but the animation is buggy and they don't shoot while charging, but removing Guv's makes them work properly. Guv's hasn't been updated since 4.0, so it's likely more on them than you for this odd issue popping up. Maybe it's something to do with animations bugging, I'm not a mod maker so I wouldn't know the specifics.

are you sure? its working just fine for me with no other mods active. its strange that one would work and not the other, maybe you have another mod that interferes with the cavalry animations

As of 4.2 the Fire Lancers do not correctly shoot when charging, even though it expends ammo. The Fire Lance Warriors work just fine though. Otherwise, a great mod that I can't play Cathay without.

i really love these fire unit
but i thinks their ranged fire damage are too powerfull
maybe a little nerff or make their cost higher would be great.

I did play with this mod and I love how these guys fit right into the roster. Pretty well balanced too, when compared with a lot of the other mods that add units to Cathay's roster. There are definite pros and cons with these units, which I love.

As far as the Lion Gunners are concerned, I've tried em out and saw that they have ECD, they make a great frontline unit to stick in between your melee infantry, so yes; basically a beefier version of the Iron Hail Gunners. Not sure if their projectiles have penetration, but they seem to do some pretty devastating damage on volleys.

Overall, excellent balance in this mod makes it a great pleasure to play with in the campaigns, even if I'm not playing Cathay.

i think lion gunners should be thought of as more like an extreme version of ironhail gunners than a rifle unit. With longer range and faster reload they would obliterate whole armies, and then they are decent in melee on top of that

I gotta agree with Mega Ultra Chicken. If at least the range of the Lions was greater. 100 is a bit low for a rifle unit imo. Otherwise the whole roster looks absolutely fantastic

Neat mod, great unit cards too! They fit pretty seamlessly into the vanilla card stacks, too. Lion Gunners stand out a tad but still great looking nonetheless. Speaking of which, I think Lion Gunners are a little underwhelming compared to the rest of the roster. Impressive penetrating projectiles, but the reload being almost double that of Iron hail gunners... idk
I'll have to play with these guys a little more and see what their niche is.

they are pretty strong vs infantry for sure and good in sieges (but no good vs single entities or cav), though actually their total damage potential is much much lower than the rocket battery or even the crane gunners. its just all their damage is done in the first few minutes so it is easier to use them

kinda the point of the unit, basically they are fire rockets like shogun 2 but less damage. they are not archers

Overall a really good mod, and I love that the AI uses those units a lot.
However, the Fire Arrow Crossbowmen are extremely overpowered. 300 range is far too much, 200 or so would feel better I think, as it would let them out-range other ranged infantry without becoming pseudo-artillery (it's too easy to keep them very safe, and they start dealing damage too early in the battle, which lets them rake up huge amounts of damage).
