If only I had this level of skill, but alas, I kinda suck at voxel based building games despite enjoying them immensely.
@Heffaklumpen: Be sure to use this blueprint, not the linked upgrade showcase. Other than that use the Prefabinfo command to see which blocks are forbidden.
@l_o_g_o_s: Yes the fusion generator is a must if you want to fully upgrade the ship. It is roughly equivalent to 4 advanced gens, there probably is not enough space in the ship to compensate that without one.

All I am saying is that I don't think it will work very well with this particular ship. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try it if you want to. Go ahead, prove me wrong. :)

I don't think xenofication will help much here. The whole layout of the ship doesn't really lend itself well to armor tanking. That is pretty much the reason why there weren't many "flying wing" designs in the past, the shape is really bad if you want to tank on armor. The Tovera looks somewhat similar, but it is an opv and works within a different ruleset.
If you xenofy the front you will sit too close to the incoming missile explosions and die anyways. Also there are only 1-2 row of blocks before something important dies, and that won't last long, even with xeno.
If you want to have armor, better take a ship that is built with that in mind.
You can always come back to this ship once you have a couple aux cores.
Yes.. I know about drones on HPlanets but it is so boring and time consuming. I would rather not do that :-)

I was thinking about the "xenofication" of the front part and I will try this. What You think? :-) It is Your creation :-)
This ship looks like the Tovera and getting it to be the best will be the main goal.
Anyway.. thanks for that.. You are I think the first creator who made Tovera-like ship and I intend to use see its full potential.

The first fights against drones are difficult in a shield based ship, but possible. Drones are one of the factions where armor, at least initially, has a couple advantages. My Eclipse for example has some Armor and decoys at the front to ease that phase of the game. Some people also get their first Aux core from the drone POIs on Hell Planets for that reason.
At some point with enough upgrades people just steamroll drones even in shield based ships.
So no, you are definately not a bad player if you struggle against drones with your shields. :)
@l_o_g_o_s: Especially in reforged, no, armor isn't better. There are only legacy and some of the drones that are bad against armor. Everything else will do good or even very good damage against armor, but comparatively low damage against shields. The really strong side of shields is that you can recharge them just by going out of weapon range for a while.
Right now, with the upgrades, shields are a lot better for tanking, especially on ships that are fast enough to redraw from a fight once their shields go low (that hints at your lesson learned: The lesson here is to back off and recharge if shields go low).
