Jaw Stab Buff

@Walsingham Not wrong. Eyes are the easiest way to hit gray-matter, they're basically an extension if it - eyes are literally just the brains that poke out of our skulls.
seby989 31 May @ 3:35pm
I love this mod but when I try to jaw stab I end up shoving the zombie instead
Walsingham 6 Apr @ 4:44am
full respect for your hard work, but I feel like people are massively underestimating how hard it would be to ram a blade up into the brain through the sinuses. It does look cool, though.
8hoursofsleep 1 Apr @ 9:43pm
Is there a way to make this same thing but for stealth and any weapon? Like in stealth RPGs where you execute a zombie from behind.
Collette 1 Mar @ 1:57pm
People tell me this is op and I strongly disagree. This is how knives should just work by default.
Eoligan 28 Feb @ 12:41pm
It does not work for me either. Simply it does nothing as @ReyRiz said
Collette 20 Feb @ 2:39pm
Ur a fucking legend man
yes  [author] 12 Feb @ 2:58pm
sure that looks clean, thanks! I'll implement it this week most likely. Thanks again that was really cool
Float 12 Feb @ 7:42am
BoB Check discussions. Was curious so I refactor to add slider, it still works for a single zombie though, so I'm not sure how it is supposed to work.
BoB 1 Feb @ 6:14pm
Could you add an option to lower the chance? its a little op
ReyRiz 30 Dec, 2024 @ 1:04am
Here's two attacks, a non-crit and a crit:
IsoZombie.hitConsequences > Zombie #-1 got hit for 0.46229756.
CombatManager.pressedAttack > Attacked zombie: dist: 1.0217383, chance: (100), crit: false (54%) from behind: false.
CombatManager.attackCollisionCheck > Zombie got hit in Left Forearm with a Base.HuntingKnife for 1.2870001 out of 1.4300001 after totalDef of 10.0% was applied.
---
IsoZombie.hitConsequences > Zombie #-1 got hit for 4.748338.
CombatManager.pressedAttack > Attacked zombie: dist: 0.69579035, chance: (100), crit: true (45%) from behind: false.
CombatManager.attackCollisionCheck > Zombie got hit in Upper Torso with a Base.BareHands for 0.70000005 out of 0.70000005 after totalDef of 0.0% was applied.

So uh, i got busy irl and forgot about this thing, sorry. I just disabled all the mods except this one, restarted the game just in case and tested. Seems like no matter the weapon crits dont work. I read the logs, from a high distance crits simply do not happen. From a low distance they sometimes do, but it turns into a Base.BareHands attack (push/shove). They still work as normal when there is only 1 zombie. Also, error magnifier is of no help here, as i said, no errors pop up, even with error magnifier. If there's anything else i can do, please let me know, i really like your mod. I might test it on a couple of other PCs, but later, it's not an option for now
Surge 29 Dec, 2024 @ 2:26pm
@ReyRiz You can use https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2896041179 and '-debug' in launch settings to get a better idea if there's a bug/ conflict somewhere. You also have logs in C:\Users\%user\Zomboid\Logs that update in real-time. You can check the file right after performing (or failing) a knife crit.
yes  [author] 29 Dec, 2024 @ 1:03pm
The mod increases the crit chance of every single knife in the game and that makes them able to perform the jaw stab 80% of the time
CryingD@rk 29 Dec, 2024 @ 12:34pm
I couldn't understand what this mod does but what I need is Jaw stab chance should be increased knives are already useless without it
ReyRiz 29 Dec, 2024 @ 1:18am
I'll go test with just this mod to make sure, is there some way i can get provide logs if there are any useful ones?
yes  [author] 28 Dec, 2024 @ 8:27am
I just tested upon seeing your comment and everything seems fine. I even tested with a butter knife to make sure so I think it must be another mod overriding stats?
ReyRiz 28 Dec, 2024 @ 5:26am
It doesn't seem to work for me in build 42, no errors or anything, is anyone else having issues?
Luke AP 22 Dec, 2024 @ 1:25pm
Thanks, but you don't actually say what you specifically did. I am assuming you removed the jaw-stab disable?
yes  [author] 20 Dec, 2024 @ 7:16am
@Rocky Jet enjoy!
yes  [author] 20 Dec, 2024 @ 7:16am
@Mesrszmit ye I agree
Mesrszmit 20 Dec, 2024 @ 4:50am
Thanks for updating to B42, the vanilla jaw stabbing is just goofy.

Thank you yesss!!!!

Updated to b42 my friend! Please let me know if you find any issues

b42 is out my friend!~
Mesrszmit 16 Nov, 2024 @ 1:44am
Hey will the mod work with SOMW but simply won't modify vanilla knives if SOMW is later in the load order?
HexStrain 21 Aug, 2024 @ 5:28am
yeah we need SOMW
Mesrszmit 20 Aug, 2024 @ 10:03am
Any chance for SOMW compatibility?
gonna shit 28 Feb, 2024 @ 3:53pm
theres a mod named knife kills.can it lets you jawstab with higher chance.see if you can use that to improve this.like take it and at the part that makes it that you are able to jawstab while another walker is still there and combine them together.can you

김요루 10 Feb, 2024 @ 2:17pm
Can you make me a mode where I can swing a knife?
And I saw your profile and I saw that you were holding your knife upside down. How can I do that?
yes  [author] 28 Jan, 2024 @ 2:24am
yes that is SOMV, it is compatible but since the knives have so much crit chance it makes SOMV's crit sytem go nuts (too many crtits). They still work together so if you want to bypass that popup you could change my mod's ID
Bunbun 27 Jan, 2024 @ 11:36pm
Well, not sure if it's your mod or SOMW but every time I attack with a knife there is a popup that says "deactivate jaw stab mod to keep SOMW working perfectly". Guessing there isn't much compatibility as of this moment between the two mods.
Bunbun 27 Jan, 2024 @ 10:33pm
Hmm I see. I'll test it out a bit and see if it crits on almost every attack which would mean both mods are increasing crit chance without you're mod disabling itself if it can't jawstab or if it only doubles down on crits when jawstab can be made. Either way, thank you. You're always very attentive with comments and appreciate your work.
yes  [author] 27 Jan, 2024 @ 10:27pm
I've tried to change crit chance depending on how many zombies are seeing you so my mod disables it itself whenever the jawstab can no longer be performed but the game lags a bit so idk
yes  [author] 27 Jan, 2024 @ 10:25pm
Simple Overhaul has its own crit system for knives and I don't want to mess it up. Since my mod increases critical chance, together with SO it makes knives insanely op
Bunbun 27 Jan, 2024 @ 10:22pm
Don't know if you managed to make this work with Simple Overhaul: melee weapon? If the simplest solution would be to load this after SOMW then that's fine, if you found a way to make them both work together in another way then just wanted to check. Thank you for the great mod once again.

thanks:)

@sachimi yes i know i get your point but i just think there is another way to do it that is more realistic and less annoying
yes  [author] 9 Nov, 2023 @ 3:44pm
Yeah I agree @Sachimi I'll find something "immersive" but clear to the player tomorrow.
Sachimi 9 Nov, 2023 @ 3:37pm

retro, if you think about it, if you want to stab somebody you will always know the right moment to do it. The problem with the current sistem is that you cannot see the hand in all angles, lots of things get in the middle even your own body. Our character knows, but the signal is not enough clear to the player. Same as zeds in the stars, our character sees them but we dont cause the transparency of the floor is still messed up.
retr0l0gy 9 Nov, 2023 @ 9:58am
@Saschimi that could get quite annoying after some time and its not very immersive either
Sachimi 9 Nov, 2023 @ 9:54am
Hey I just saw a mod that shows a text warning over the character when there are zomboids on the stairs, is just like the text that appears when you scream. It's really an easier option
retr0l0gy 9 Nov, 2023 @ 8:24am
i will also like that tbh
Sachimi 9 Nov, 2023 @ 7:25am
Great man, thank you, I wish you the best loot ever
yes  [author] 9 Nov, 2023 @ 6:34am
I can try making something like that! I'll let you know when I have it ready
Sachimi 5 Nov, 2023 @ 5:15am
Hi, I want to ask, is there any mod that makes the "hand raise" more visible? or something that adds some hud signal about it? I find it hard to the hand of my character in certain angles or when its behind doors or walls, worst at night.
retr0l0gy 30 Oct, 2023 @ 2:58am
and im honestly surprised this mod isn't that popular its great i think
