Despite a bit controversial, It looks like a cool mod....but it needs to be updated.

It would be very interesting if you reworked Steel Thewed, getting only 25% of your total health damage demolished all the best boss fights, maybe edit 25% to 75% so you're not oneshotted

Any update?

PSA: This mod (After the 12/6/22 update) causes a crash to desktop when an animal (Goat, Leopard, Rocknose, etc) makes an attack.

Looks like mod needs an update

First look, the changes look great! Pretty well balanced I think.

*Risk a lot more for slightly more damage reduction (Sorry, its late and I'm tired so I'm not running at 100%)
Excessive Paranoia 2 Oct, 2022 @ 12:11am
The point being that in the old form it had uniform utility, but in the new form, its slightly worse at each end because you have to risk more for more armor at the low end, while you risk less, but get less at the high end.

If you're open to suggestions, I think the Twisted Flesh change actually makes the perk weaker. In its old form you have a 10% chance to ignore each instance of damage at 20pts investment, while in this form you have a 15% chance to get between a ~14% damage reduction for light armor users and a ~2% damage reduction for heavy armor users. Yes it stacks, but to get any benefit out of it for light users, they'll have to guzzle health pots to avoid getting nuked, while heavier armor users will get stacks more easily, but thanks to armor mechanics, won't get nearly as much benefit from those stacks.

Personally I'd either boost the proc chance to maybe 20%-30% which would make it a lot more viable for light armor users, or increase the buff by an appreciable amount (maybe 250), which would make it more viable for all users. IMO, this would make it better than the vanilla perk without making it too much stronger.

@Vaugher

From what I could determine any bonus to follower damage should now apply at 50% effectiveness when using War Party
VictorG 23 Sep, 2022 @ 12:25pm
Thanks Reyn, that seems like a pretty healthy balance to me. Do equipment bonuses to followers apply at 50% as well, or not at all like with vanilla war party?

@Vaugher

I am pushing an update later today that allows War Party to give 50% of your authority stat to thralls. This should make it competitive with Well-Trained. Might be a little too much. We'll see how it fairs in the wild.

Without the +20 vitality and grit (which gives armor), the War Party thralls die much quicker. I considered adjusting their health and armor instead, but decided to go the more glass cannon approach as you can already just take zombie's for the meat shield approach.

@Riot Good thralls require a lot of work and grinding. You not only need a good base thrall but need to get/make the gear to make them viable. Where as with the well trained perk, you can just grab a pet/thrall and be good to go on a farming/exploring adventure.
Selri 21 Sep, 2022 @ 11:19pm
If this further gets more configurable or more perk overhaul, i'll support you. :)
Riot 21 Sep, 2022 @ 10:33pm
@Vaugher have you actually tried the WP perk with good thralls? it is completely worth it. Just cause something doesn't make the game a walk through modders want to completely carebear it.
Ucaus 21 Sep, 2022 @ 8:11am
@Vaugher
You can use Better Thrall to more thrall follow.
And I agree to buff war party perk. But just for pet or undead. Because 2 human with full armour and weapon always stronger than all.
VictorG 20 Sep, 2022 @ 9:02am
Would it be possible to edit the war party perk as well? As it is now it's not really worth taking since it prevents any equipment buffs to your thralls in addition to authority not buffing them. It either needs to allow some buffs, or allow even more thralls imo.

Good changes
