Thanks! The dwarfs having some more variety is always fun. I'm just happy I can help bring it to them!

And Bugman is on my list of things to do. Have to learn how to make new characters, but he will certainly be added! I can look into Ulthar as well!

Have to say that I love this mod. It makes rangers have a unique role in the dawi throng that they didn't have before. Great job!

If I could make one wish: It would be for this to come with a Bugman and/or Ulther legendary lord(s). Having a legendary lord who could lead a legendary throng? It would make for really amazing themed armies. Moreso than having a generic lord or runelord leading them into battle.

I am working towards a larger overhaul with the dwarfs that will include all my stuff and that I will keep adding to! Just in the middle of making a new unit mod with a fairly ambitious model.

That has to do with priority which would probably need a submod since I suspect we are both changing the ranger unit tables directly.

This is a fantastic mod unfortunately overwritten by Gruz's Dwarf Tweaks which removes the fire while moving from the Rangers. If you could work out how to make your mod overwrite that one specifically for Fire While Moving, wow, it would be perfect.

I just tested them out and they are working for me. I suspect you have another mod that is touching their stats that is taking priority over mine.

I can check when I get home. Any other mod that touches the Rangers has a good chance of overwriting my stat changes, though.

Did some testing and it appears that Bugman's Rangers has been made into a RoR by your mod, but the stat changes and 'fire whilst moving' don't seem to be applied. Seems like there's conflict with another mod of mine.

I just tested it on my end and everything seemed to be working fine so I don't know what would be causing the issue for you. Can you tell me exactly what wasn't working? Also, do you have any other mods running?

Sounds good! And I had something sort of similar when I was doing this mod.

I wound up with a work around with some of my animations as I was having an extra crossbow show up, but the solution might work for you. I wound up just transforming the extra crossbow down into the ground. You could do that with the axe in the hand matching the time the projectile is generated. Probably not the most elegant solution, but it might be what you are looking for if you haven't tried that yet.

Good luck with however you manage it, though!

thank you very much. of course i'll do. i haven't decided the details yet, perhaps i will enable the axe rangers to fire on the move. before that, i'm trying to solve the issue the axe getting out of hand when they throw.

this is the mod I've been hoping for since WH1. it's great. may i tweak the anim a bit and put it in my overhaul mod? I'm making a dual-wield axe ranger.

@Rusty Shackleford I'm not sure which specific mod you are talking about, but probably not. At best they wouldn't cause any issues, but this mod gives the ax throwing rangers fire while moving as well, so you shouldn't need both. I can clarify in the description.

If it is only changing skills or tech lines, those should work just fine. Those target unit groups and I have not changed anything that would cause an issue there.

The only reason they would be incompatible would be if they also altered rangers directly.

@shane_357 This should be compatible with pretty much everything that doesn't touch any of the Dwarf Ranger units (including Ulthar's Raiders) and doesn't touch the Bugman's Brewery landmark building.

@Monkey Ah, that is a good idea, I will try that out, then! Still pretty new to modding so I was just thinking of data coring.

Its not removing abilities. You can just make a new attribute group that doesn't have hide in forest

Unfortunately removing abilities from units is a lot more involved than adding them on and causes all sorts of compatibility issues.
Bugman's Rangers being a normal unit was always a big pet peeve of mine and felt very strange. Glad you enjoy it!

This doesn't actually make any kind of difference but Rangers are one of those units with both hide in forest and stalk which is completely redundant. I would recommend just removing hide in forest from all the ranger units. Great mod though, I always thought Bugman's Rangers were kind of weird and should have been an RoR

Fixed them not firing on the move. Working on solving the weird visual effect for crossbows, but wanted to get it uploaded in a functioning state for now.

It looks like an animation issue for why they are not firing as they should. I will try to fix that tomorrow as that is a bit more involved.

One quick suggestion, maybe instead of giving them all "Fire whilst moving", give the great weapon rangers and their ROR, the "precursor weapon" property, like the chameleon skinks have. While just leaving the crossbow versions as they are. Just a thought.

Just tested this in custom battle, none of it seems to actually take affect. The icon for "fire while moving" but they don't actually do so. Bugman's Rangers do appear as an ROR in custom.
The fire in all directions thing isn't working either.
