Mmm me acostumbre a la Cruz original aunque ciertamente parece doblarse con un poco de Fuerza Shek.
English: Thanks for this Remodel :3

I was able to fix the issue.
Turns out I also needed to generate tangents when exporting.

The edited mesh files are still smaller than the originals, so I suppose there is still something wrong with them.
But it looks like the quality is preserved on an export now.

Thank you for bringing this issue to light as I am sure I would have never noticed it myself.

I see now.

Importing the edited mesh into blender shows the issue.
Importing both the original mesh as well as opening the .blend file of my edit show it being smooth as it should.
Something went wrong with the export process, I will try to fix it.

It's even visible on the last "Before / After" screenshot

I am unsure what you mean.
Could you elaborate what's wrong?

I didn't alter much in the mesh, just moved a few planes around.
Maybe something got messed up in the export process.
Or if you are talking about the screenshots on the workshop page, I usually play on low graphical settings to speed up loading times.

Regardless, I never saw any difference in the quality of the mesh, so if you could provide a screenshot where that issue can be seen I would appreciate it.

Or, rather, why does it look so edgy compared to the base game model?

What's with the low polygon count?
Bad Roaches 26 Oct, 2022 @ 6:19pm
omg thank you that was driving me crazy

I could argue that the little bit doesn't define this weapon as a cross, but rather the actual guard does.

In the middle ages, swords usually had straight guards to allow the knights to stab them into the ground and use them as crosses for prayers.
It is safe to assume that the straight guard of the Paladin's Cross is used for the same purpose by Holy Nation paladins.

Thus removing that tiny bit doesn't alter the resemblance to a cross while making the weapon more plausible in real life.
After all, that bit would be enough to cause the weapon to snap in half if swung.

Also the Plank lacks any form of guard.

So you removed the cross...from the Paladin's Cross.....

This is just a Holy Nation Plank now.

Can't wait to try it out, the tiny in-betweeny bit bothered me too....

Done.
