It's a bug of OpenStarbound, it seems the authors chose not to port the Neki-specific mask configurations that allowed for the ears to rotate properly like they did in their previous project, StarExtensions.

You can use xStarbound [github.com] or StarExtensions [github.com] instead, which both support it properly; or you can just disable the head rotation by typing '/headrotation'.

i have basically all neki products but it looks like the ears arent attached to normal neki species and when you look up and down the head/body tilts but the ears dont tilt with the head. any idea if this is normal or an issue?

In order for it to appear alongside other races at character creation, it has to be its' own standalone race, there's no clear way of making it a toggle in Starbound.

You'd still have to go through all of the steps in this guide to do that, even if you make it a into a simple 'skin' race without any extra content. That's just the way this game is set up, sadly.

Question if you don't have time to make them as standalone races as an alternative download what about a version or toggle that makes them show up alongside the normal versions instead?

It shouldn't, Nekibound doesn't affect the Avians in any way at all currently.

It's not a trivial thing to do - making a non-replacer entails basically creating an entire separate species, which would require far more free time than I generally have :(

Oki this ended up being a small issue with how StarExtensions had masks implemented.
It's been fixed now by the author of StarExtensions in version 1.9.24 :)

Confused that Esther seems to be invisible when I use Nekibound, never used to happen when I played Starbound way back, just come back to the game after a few years.

I will primarily be updating this mod, Nekify will only get updated if there's some bug, error or major incompatibility, otherwise I won't be adding anything new to it.

There was some humor attempted but in seriousness, I've been looking through the two and I'm wondering since this one has the compatibility with the updates that aren't game breaking. Will it get priority? Also, just so you're aware you put "gamewords" in the description. You don't have to fix it just wanted to point it out before someone complains about it.

I asked because I don't know if this will be updated primarily rather than Nekify since this one is the better version already, I would rather use this if that's the case. Will Nekify get the neki races that haven't been finished yet?

I don't want to be that guy but, is there a "nsfw" version for all the races edited? I'm unsure if grotu works on them and it's odd having the neki tenant and the neki'ed version of a race side by side and the neki is... ne-ked. So my un-thoughtout strategy to show dominance over the pixel havers is to instead of just get the sfw neki, have nsfw of the nekified races.

Found it ! I forgot how starbound random load order was a pain in the ass.
I assumed that having a problem after subscribing to a mod meant that it was that mod fault. I was wrong.

What happened was that after subscribing to some specific mods, starbound scramble the load order and nekibound which was low in the load order was now very high. Causing an unexpected mod to be after nekibound when it was not the case before.

So, as an information, the mod is called "Invisible clothes", and in the files, it is called "Nudity Overhaul". In case you want to add this one too in your metadata file for future people

The only thing that could cause what you're describing is another mod overriding the body texture of Nekibound Humans. It may be the case that another mod related to race cosmetics could have vanilla or custom body textures in its folder, due to an oversight by the developer or a change they've made that isn't obvious but required modifying that texture, respectively.

Do a mod elimination, start with a clean Starbound client with only Nekibound installed, make sure it works properly, then add mods back bit by bit till it doesn't.

I have some weird behavior from your mod, especially from the neki human part.
I noticed that in my game, the neki human have the neki head part but not the body part. So naturally I looked in my mod list what could do that, and I found 3 mods that was a problem, one of them being Job Offers.
The part where it's going weird, is that none of these 3 mods seems to do anything to the human race. I even checked the Job Offers mod files to be sure and I don't see anything that could interfere.
I also tried to download the non steam version of your mod in order to play with the load order, but even after loading Nekibound after those 3 mods, it still did not want to work.

Sooooo I'm a little bit out of ideas right now. Do you have any suggestion ?

Yes, you can install/uninstall it as you please, it won't affect saves in any way.

Making standalone races from scratch isn't really trivial, the sprites are the easy part.
There's a lot of content for each race, and even simply duplicating existing vanilla races but with a different look would be quite a lot of work, I think.

I did make a race with its' own everything that looks like this, you could try it out :)

I really look forward to the standalone version of this mod! I absolutely love the aesthetic, but I'd hate to change my existing characters.
