But THX for creating, fun to play !!!
I would have like to have done something more, like an alternative ending or bonus level/room, but I ran out of time for the contest.
Oh, I am quite aware of the chaos that unfolds with the name.
I almost wish I had made the map only so I could name it Imposter :D
Haha! I didn't forget. The glass is meant to be broken to have the 'big reveal'. I did however fail to add the correct damage filter to the NPCs. I did try but ran out of time to get the right one. I guess it adds to the Halloweeness of it anyway
It plays like Black Mesa, and enemies are introduced in tune with Half-Life's style. Strong, horror-themed intro which blends into action and puzzles. The aesthetic suits Black Mesa's levels, especially Questionable Ethics.
There are few cons to this map, none render it unplayable, but I have some comments. Spoiler warning.
There are some enemy types which could be omitted. I think this map would be stronger if the creator kept to the zombies, HECU soldiers and Vortigaunts.
I once again had to push the blue box. Thankfully, only for about a yard.
The player finds many weapons at the same time, if we only had a pistol for a while until after the first soldiers, this map would be more intense. That might just be personal preference, though.
Overall, a great map, definitely one of the best in the EFBM contest. Definitely worth a shot.
PS: Obligatory sus ඞ

There's two times I saw a Ninja (with the red eyes). Were there more sightings I missed?^^
I enjoyed this submission! I think it had a bunch of neat ideas, navigation, and combat encounters. I definitely noticed you showing players the effect of things they've done (such as buttons opening doors, or disabling the laser grid), which stopped me from ever being confused at all while playing the map. I also thought the combat in general was pretty good and the shape and paths of various areas were nicely designed. I never really felt lost or confused, and I felt like there was a variety of things to do.
JUDGE'S NOTES: Imposter was a solid map all round. I do, however, feel there was a missed opportunity here to really hone in on the liminal, lonely atmosphere created during the first portion of the map. There was a brief window where I thought the "artefacts" were pages like from a Slender game (I misinterpreted the radio music as some kind of "distance warning" of another entity), and the uncanny feeling of exploring the quiet environments was lost somewhat when combat emerged. That's not to say the combat was bad, though - on the contrary, I feel it was well-balanced and well-integrated. I just wonder if this could have doubled down on the horror, but I enjoyed it quite a bit, so great work!
