Sorry to hear that, I will try and find some time to test the mod and see if it is not working for me also. I would recommend to try running this mod alone, with no other active mods on a clean save/profile to establish whether it is this mod that is not working or whether another mod is causing a conflict.
By stopped working, do you mean that the route adviser has defaulted back to the original layout, or there is some other problem?
If you instead wanted to play around with the .cfg file values while in-game, you can enable the dev console and make repeated changes which might be simpler. It is difficult exactly to picture the problem you describe but perhaps try adjusting dist_game also. So, fov_game to increase the scale, and dist_game to push the overlay away so things are not so far apart but still readable.
If I set the scale in the config to
*r_manual_stereo_ui_fov_game "80"*
it has a readable size, but everything is spaced to far apart.
I checked the mod and opened the .sii file with notepad++. Lots of field where you made comments and changed values. I want to adjust these values to my need.
Is there a better way to change test values expect testing randomly and rebooting the game every time?
I changed the config as you advised, and now the display is back to the same as before and I can play comfortably.
uset r_manual_stereo_ui_pitch_game "-10.0" (pitch down)
uset r_manual_stereo_ui_yaw_game "-40.0" (yaw right)
uset r_manual_stereo_ui_y_game "-0.2" (translate down)
uset r_manual_stereo_ui_x_game "0.5" (translate right)
I would suggest that you change these all back to “0” which will center the user interface again.
As noted in the mod summary you may need to further modify the various field values listed to achieve the desired user interface positions in both the menu and the in-game route adviser overlay. The values given in the summary are my own user interface size and position settings, they may not work for everyone and should be adjusted in small amounts as needed to meet your preference.
Due to a recent update, it appears that officials have moved the user interface display position for VR from the front of the handle to the front, diagonally to the right.
Due to this, the user interface position display for this mod has been shifted.
Nice to know it isn't just me missing the speed indicator. When it reappears, I will try to fix the speeding warning red background.
About the speed indicator, it does not show after we updated to 1.50 - I have not tried to go back to 1.49 to check if its still there
Probably you need to unsubscribe and resubscribe for the update to work, I did.
Is it just me that cannot see the speed indicated on the UI? I cannot correctly position and resize the red speeding warning background if I cannot see the text for the speed. For me, where the speed should be displayed (top left next to the map, above the bed/fatigue icon) I see nothing. Anyone else have this issue?
It could be something to do with the config.cfg file settings for the UI relevant fields. Might be worth backing up config.cfg, deleting/moving it, so that the game creates another default copy on start up and testing again. I am a bit short of time today to troubleshoot this particular issue other than to advise it is not the mod causing it, either the current game build or the config.cfg settings.
Red box when speeding, I should be able to resolve; It will be the background of the speeding element which is red when speeding, transparent otherwise. I must have forgotten to move it and did not speed when testing.
For the overall UI size, indeed it is best for the user to play with the relevant config.cfg fields to suit their particular HMD, viewing preference and truck (I like to try to nestle the UI at the top of the windscreen, and will change the x,y,dist, fov as needed. Try using the dev console to find a nice setting as you can move the UI in-game that way, but I don't think you can use dev console with WoT account active as it will think you are trying to cheat.
First, i am going to toy with the size, since on my Index its too small.
Then the red block, is when you are going over the speed limit. then it appears
Also, when i tryi to change my AA from 8x to 5x it crashed my game. It does not do that when i deactivate the mod
On 1.50
As far as I know the game version is the Steam one, playing on Valve Index, pretty beefy PC and graphics card 4080 Ryzen 9.
I would think the force feedback issue is related to something else as this mod changes only a single file related to the UI. I do not see how it could possibly affect the force feedback.
Any CTD should have already happened on loading, so if already in-game then this mod should not be causing any CTD as far as I've experienced. Could be conflicting with another UI mod?
I was using red background during testing to differentiate between different background elements, so that could be related, maybe I missed something on testing and file review.
Could you let me know more detail about when these issues happen; action, event, button being pressed, etc...please, also your game version and I can look into it.
Feedback would be appreciated to know (a) if it works as expected for 1.50, (b) that it also still works for versions prior to 1.50 (c) any other anomalies I may have missed during my limited play testing
Note that I have increased opacity on the semi-transparent background which should make things easier to read hopefully. I had looked at changing some of the text colouring but was not having any luck so opted to just darken the background more.
I have just tested my updates with ETS2 and it works, except for some reason I cannot get the speed to display, I'm not sure if that is an error in the vr branch itself as it does not appear to display either on the stock UI layout if I disable the mod, though perhaps I have a conflicting mod. I have also taken the opportunity to darken (lower opacity) the background for easier reading during day.
I still need to package the mod correctly so that it will work with versions <= 1.49 and >= 1.50 since now the file being changed by the mod (adviser_oculus.sii) differs between this and the previous versions.
