Does this mod work from 2024? One of the necessary mods for the game.

@SlyRedGuy Bro, read description of mod sometimes

I encountered a lone C3 freighter crossing the atlantic at 19kn

According to the manual they only go up to 16.5kn

I have the scale at 30%-110%, but I think that the result should be clamped to the max speed of ships

Well, just thought it would be awesome if the knots vary, but still stay in range of the historical values of the related convoys.
But it's probably very hard to do so I was just thinking out loud I guess. :)

Are you posting on the mod you meant to dreepa?

Uboat expanded is the one that adds more convoys and focuses on historical accuracy.

This mod as far as I can tell just allows for variability in convoy speed so a guess of "7 knots" isn't always accurate.

It would be awesome, if you can take a look at this, and incorporate it into your mod. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Allied_convoys_during_World_War_II_by_region

@hhung I use 30% min 110% max. Keep in mind the formula follows a "bell curve" probability - meaning the "middle speeds" will be more common than the slowest or fastest.
Long story short, if you use 110% you will VERY RARELY find a ship going 110%, but you'll find more often ships going 90-100%. Happy hunting!

that's awesome! Thanks for this mod, it was sorely needed! I set the max speed to 110% just to have a bit more variety. Hope it doesn't break anything. =)
AlexFoyle  [author] 20 Nov, 2022 @ 6:51am
@hhung in my experience yes they are!

Are the modified speeds reported correctly in the convoy sighting reports from other subs and BdU?
DECAFBAD 15 Nov, 2022 @ 4:21pm
I don't even know what the devs are thinking making every convoy go at 6.8kn
Or is it 3.5m/s? 12.6km/h?

There is no point in doing any measurements or calculations when everything travels at the same speed.

Thats cool to hear.

@Kapitän Ctbb.
Yes, that's been discussed for UBE.
Ctbb. 12 Nov, 2022 @ 1:22am
wow this one i have misst thanks!!

Historicly convoys was sorted out in slow moving convoys like OA-SL (5-7 knots).
and fast moving convoys like HX-ON (9 knots) etc..
Is that even possible to do when moding this game?

This man churning out all the cool mods, well done sq_paradox!

Indeed rabbit now we have to WORK to know the speed haha! And yes you're right in a convoy all ships will go at the same speed, but with this mod that speed probably won't be 7 knots anymore...
rabbit1988 11 Nov, 2022 @ 11:32am
@urseus I guess the mod changes the speed of different convoys and ships. Not ships in the same convoy with different speed. ;) Vanilla every freighter who goes straight and isn´t in Alarm-mode goes 7 knots as example. You know the speed without calculate it. I guess these times are over with this mod.
urseus 11 Nov, 2022 @ 11:00am
I thought ships all sailed the same speed so they stayed together in the convoy?
tequilatibbs 11 Nov, 2022 @ 10:36am
nice
AlexFoyle  [author] 11 Nov, 2022 @ 8:02am
Fantastic mod! Gone are the days of EVERY ship or convoy going 6.8 knots!
