(I will be updating this mod when the next content update for the game comes out). The game, as for now, has not enough content to keep me engaged so I don't see why I should update a mod for a game I barely play. I appreciate everyone's patience.

i see that you did a Fantastic job here with the prezentation but the ships are not that good they need some refinment

Here is my two cents regarding the ships:

Yellow Jacket:
A nice simple starting design that has a flaw, the two forward facing engines are not accessible by the crew. In order to make them accessible without using any mods, one would have to replace 2 armor pieces with corridors and add two doors (one for each side).

Kobold:
A decent starting ship if you are going straight to mining, but this ship is outclassed by most if not all ships that are looking to draw blood. You will find that installing 2 additional rear thrusters to be mandatory as you will be too slow to outrun hostiles otherwise.

Hopper: This thing... it is frankly not work its price, as the lack of any side or forward facing thrusters will find it being quickly outmaneuvered. Just adding the bare minimum to cover the lack of side and forward facing thrust cost 2k in credits (16 coils and steel, hopefully you aren't unlucky and your starting station has none when you spawn). Frankly, the bare min would look rather ugly, but that was me trying to avoid "extra" costs.

Extravaganza:
A unique design, it may or may not hold its own against the starting bounties... something for me to test.*

Apollyon:
This one doesn't seem like a ship I would bring to the table as a starter, for a broadside ship, the serious lack of armor means that it will take an enemy little effort to shred through your ship. I would have to give it a go to be certain, but my initial take is not promising.

*extra:
every single ship HAS to have its crew management adjusted, as each ship has had zero attention paid to the crew which can result in crew confusion in high tensity situations where everyone needs to be at their post and not wandering off. Keep this in mind if you take any of these ships for a spin, as it will affect their performance.

It looks like only the Extravaganza is available for starting out on Architect difficulty (normal).

It might be something on my end that I've missed though!

Thanks for pointing that up. I will cheapen them up. In the mean time you can start with the hopper and load the other ship models in-game once you sell a few minerals in a nearby station.

one thing you may wanna note
only hopper is cheap enough for the shipwright setting

I have to agree, she looks goofy xD

I will have another starter ship pack in a few days with even goofier and experimental designs, stay tuned.

Thanks to your help my newest workshop item uses a custom thumbnail. It doesn't work, unless the image is 512x512 pixels in size though.
Kokorocodon  [author] 4 Nov, 2022 @ 1:57pm
It is actually. Some image formats don't seem to work with it. You could try converting it to JPEG, usually works.
Yaddah 4 Nov, 2022 @ 11:39am
Tried that once, but then my workshop item didn't show up. Thought it was related to picking a custom image. Apparently not. I'll try it again, thx.

@Yaddah Thank you for your kind comment my man. Really means a lot.

About the thumbnail, that's an easy one. When uploading your ship/shippack to the workshop there's the default thumbnail the game picks for you, which is usually an image of the ship itself. If you click it the game will allow you to pick a different image inside your computer. Hope I helped.

Those are some pretty cute ships. And nice store-like workshop description. How do you change the default thumbnail for the workship item?
