@Элестей Because they're vanilla planes, which don't work with the mod. Disband the air unit and create new ones with modded designs, or wait for the old planes to be replaced. You can tell which is which because vanilla planes don't have a speed stat (hence why they won't move).

Hi, not sure if I'm maybe just missing something but it appears that the Paradrop Module doesn't actually let you use the aircraft for dropping paratroopers. It just gives me the notification "Need at least 50 transport planes" when I try to set up a paradrop plan

Hooray for a fix!

I tried it with KX and all of the nations' planes didn't work (missing components) so nations had to get XP to finish designing them. Other than that, the best AF designer mod there is.

I posted a comment but it bugged out and for some reason I cant see it. In case it didnt send I have to say that I will try to release it tomorrow / on friday. The reason for this delay is because I want to do more testing, make the mod as stable as possible + there are way more events and decisions that add aircraft than I expected and some are tricky to find

Guys if anyone still would like to play the mod I have found a way to prevent the game from crashing in the first week. I will upload the fixed version tomorrow and post a link here. I will also delete all events / focuses that create aircraft to prevent the game from crashing. I will re add them when I manage to learn how to make the AI use them and how to create custom ones via focues

honestly the concept for this mod is amazing, but still you cant make airwings with either rocket planes or jet planes.

Can you try to just redo the mod entirely?
I know it would be more time-consuming, but it would allow you to rebuild it using the knowledge that you have now, plus also be able to be in a position where you can add in modules from the comments, such as Advanced Engine variants, other types of engines (like fuel-injected), turboprops, other weapons, other modules, etc

i kind of find the issue, whenever i try to design a plane that has a jet or rocket, the game becomes unstable, whenever i try to deploy an air wing that has a rocket or jet plane the game just crashes, please try to find what the issue is and fix it

Where can I find the missing modules because the research tree I have in the game is still the vanilla one with no flaps no midwing config nor engine so I can't create any plane?

I think you should have the radars increase air-to-air combat by +5% and interception detection by +10% for level 1 and +10% air-to-air and +15% interception for level 2. also I agree with squarter's idea of giving the AI the base designer so you have planes to fight. (at least for now)

I have a suggestion, don't know if it is viable, but can't u make both the mod and the original designer co-exist, and make a decision to choose weather u would want one or another, so that the AI can make the planes, and the player get to use the mod without u having much work to program the AI into using the new designer (don't know it this is possible to make, I am not a programmer) loved ur mod btw, hope u get to fix it :steamthumbsup:

The mod NEEDS to be fixed, in three ways (ordered from most to least important):
-The mod has to function without causing crashes due to conflicts with other in-game events.
-The AI must be able to use this mod as well. (Currently, all nations [including players] start with aircraft of default templates that are unable to do missions or even move from airfields because they have no engines.)
-Add a few more modules, such as different engines (like turboprop [a last prop engine type before going to jet engines], fuel-injection, and water-cooling). The current top prop engine, Improved Radial Engine, still feels a bit too low in regards to thrust in comparison to weight of accumulated aircraft components.

@Nuri The paradrop mission can only be done if you have paratroopers. You need to have 70% air superiority in every area the planes will pass through and unused planes that can do the paradrop mission (basically Transport Planes). There is a button in the battle plan bar at the bottom of the screen to then do a paradrop mission.

Anyone know how to make the bombers do paradrop air mission? The module says if the plane is set to paradrop but I can't seem to find what it is refering to, air supply doesn't work.

@InsaneWorld I get that. I am saying that the engine base thrust values seem a little bit low. And it is quite a jump in technology (both ingame and IRL) between the Improved Radial Engines and the Turboprop Engine (which we didn't see in WW2 at all).
I think this mod should get something in between the two: Advanced Engines, which would allow for more accurate representations for WW2 late/endwar aircraft, like the B-29, P-51H, and F8F. It would also be a match for the Advanced Airframes, as well.

@QualivaMan @Plushie When you select the engine type that is only meant to literally be the type of engine, it doesn't actually add one to the plane. So if you want a single-engine plane, you select your engine type and then add one engine usually to the aircraft nose, the slot one over on the right. The thrust on the engine types are just there to give a bonus to the normal thrust from each engine

Are rockets supposed to be available? I am playing with quite a few mods and I've noticed that rockets aren't available, and considering their prevalence during WW2 (and honestly to this day) it seems like a weird omission.

If they are supposed to be available I'm guessing RT56 is causing them to not be available (even with rocket research). If they aren't, then I would definitely suggest that as the next module to add. Rockets are critical because multi-role fighters (then usually fighter-bombers) often carried bombs AND rockets simultaneously. Rockets were specifically useful against armoured vehicles and trains, though I don't know if that would be something you could represent. Anything that moves is generally easier to hit with rockets than bombs, unless the bomb is huge.
