At this point it's simpler to just open the original mod settings and change the settings there, instead doing a patch.
Or am I understanding something wrong here?

PyxelDust: Before I update this for everyone I need to really think about it. Meanwhile check instructions about how to modify this weapon the way you want so your changes persist even after update. A lot of people told me they already use such modifications with mine and other mods. Anyway, thanks for feedback:)
A couple of suggestions that I can give for it are:
Slow down the turret rotation speed to more closely match the Deck gun, it shouldn't rotate around quite so quickly
Up the crew requirement, even the heavy laser requires two people to man it; I'd suggest something around 4-6 crew requirement. The strong trade off for using lasers over shells is that they require a lot of power and crew transfer vs the raw resources and manufacturing facilities.
Similar to the above, the power requirement of the gun is pretty low, I'd consider doubling or even tripling it's usage such that it's a power hungry beast
Consider reigning in the range a bit, it outclasses the deck gun in range AND accuracy. Perhaps keep the range but make the shots less accurate so that it's more of a longer range burst spray that sacrifices accuracy for distance.

It's just that you already have 360° firing radius + fast firing + the damage of 4000/sec.
So we made it 2000/sec since it cost you tristeel so it had to be better than the large laser.
Dunno, maybe there is another way to balance it? Like a research needed (dunno if you modder can do that atm).
On another note, is it possible to use that turret as a point defense weapon prioritize incoming missiles?

More info helps boost the attractiveness of your mod.
Right click the mod in game, open its folder and find file "autocannon_shot.rules" in the folder with same name. Don't confuse it with "autocannon.rules", one file is for the cannon, other is for the shot. All values you might want to change are inside of these .rules files.
