(sir Evans original mod is "[WIP]Weapon Turrets" steam workshop id 2891248440 and does NOT conflict with this mod though I hope whatever the issue with Flak was is fixed in the original mod)
I saved the crash logs but here is the issue: "Duplicate bullet ID 'evans.pd_turret_shot'." and this issue will happen if you enable this mod or sir Evan's [WIP]Weapon Turrets mod with the branch version of the turrets mod so very niche issue due to the branching.
Any crashlog would be great!
@Comrade_Commissar please see if lag is lower now for regular turrets, also check out Heavy variant and see if it helps with lag further :)
Seems like bullet graphics was of insane size and was massivelly scaled down by the engine.
i cut the resolution of basic shot graphics turrets use in half. Expect update over the next few days, I'll just finish Heavy PD Turret graphics and drop it here.
I could perhaps create a Heavy PD, that would have double(+) damage and half fire rate, lag is there because of number of bullets moving through space. I was thinking about it, 2x2 auto turret with somewhat larger bolts.
Maybe that is not a bad idea.
Do you think there’s anything you could do to improve performance? Because quite a few people i know loved the mod but had to remove it for performance reasons.
You can safely ignore version mismatch for this one mod in particular. I found keeping up with numbering to be terribly inconvenient, so just like many other modders, I don't track every release if it does not break the mod.
The plans for Turret Chaingun and Missile turrets are there, graphics for chaingun is done partially. It is just life stuff getting in the way of completing it. I will have more time near december, fingers crossed nothing new will happen to interrupt me and perhaps then it will be done :)

You may consider to add a "* 2" in the ROF calculation of dual turrets so their in game stats should be accurate.
Initially I wanted to make all turrets tall ones, as it would make sense, but seems like folks hate that idea.
As for damage output, it shoots two bullets that do the same damage as single PD each. So output is double, as damage is tied to bullet and you have two bullets.
As for energy consumption - I didn't wanted to make vanilla PD obsolete, so hence power consumption reduction.
They have completely replaced vanilla PD on my ships!
