I retract my earlier comment. The crash was due to me accidentally leaving on a branched version of one of sir Evans other mods:
[branch mod "Weapon Turrets (Fixed Flak Turret Pathfinding)" steam workshop id 3446123152]

(sir Evans original mod is "[WIP]Weapon Turrets" steam workshop id 2891248440 and does NOT conflict with this mod though I hope whatever the issue with Flak was is fixed in the original mod)

I saved the crash logs but here is the issue: "Duplicate bullet ID 'evans.pd_turret_shot'." and this issue will happen if you enable this mod or sir Evan's [WIP]Weapon Turrets mod with the branch version of the turrets mod so very niche issue due to the branching.

it feels more fair that they block deck cannons and such because you can make little things with power storage and PD/independent flak canons

They should block things on the roof though. If want to have the benefits of turrets, you should handle the downsides as well.

Ok, it seems like I actually can do something apart from adding heavy turret (which is cool btw).

Seems like bullet graphics was of insane size and was massivelly scaled down by the engine.
i cut the resolution of basic shot graphics turrets use in half. Expect update over the next few days, I'll just finish Heavy PD Turret graphics and drop it here.

Huh, very little I am afraid. It's a game engine issue. Multiple chainguns have that too. I recommend updating pc at some point, but other than that...

I could perhaps create a Heavy PD, that would have double(+) damage and half fire rate, lag is there because of number of bullets moving through space. I was thinking about it, 2x2 auto turret with somewhat larger bolts.

Maybe that is not a bad idea.

Hey man. Got to say, absolutely love the mod, but there is a fairly major issue. These things are basically lag machines.
Do you think there’s anything you could do to improve performance? Because quite a few people i know loved the mod but had to remove it for performance reasons.

Hello,
You can safely ignore version mismatch for this one mod in particular. I found keeping up with numbering to be terribly inconvenient, so just like many other modders, I don't track every release if it does not break the mod.

The plans for Turret Chaingun and Missile turrets are there, graphics for chaingun is done partially. It is just life stuff getting in the way of completing it. I will have more time near december, fingers crossed nothing new will happen to interrupt me and perhaps then it will be done :)

I've noticed. It was not intended actually - originaly, yeah, but people overwhelmingly were against it, so I removed it.
I'll have to look into this issue. Hopefully just removing the colider will be enough?

I think they actually don't - if I recall they miss collisions on turret heads.
People were very unhappy with that in first version so *I think* I removed these.

May be wrong tho :D

You may consider to add a "* 2" in the ROF calculation of dual turrets so their in game stats should be accurate.

I'll check this out.
Initially I wanted to make all turrets tall ones, as it would make sense, but seems like folks hate that idea.

As for damage output, it shoots two bullets that do the same damage as single PD each. So output is double, as damage is tied to bullet and you have two bullets.

As for energy consumption - I didn't wanted to make vanilla PD obsolete, so hence power consumption reduction.

Single is spelled singe.. and the dual turret is useless, well worse than the single since the damage output is the same as the single and uses more command points and turn slower so the dual turret.

The PD turret also has a drawback: it is considered a high turret akin deck cannon thus blocking other turrets from shooting above it.

Love these, the dual-turret is amazing.
