Maybe I will tune the effect down a little bit. But expect it to remain an hindrance : it is part of the design of the map.
Yes, sadly, the core issue here is that Golf It is a very buggy game to begin with. It seems sometimes...events just don't work.
But thanks for signaling that problem you encountered. It made me think of a possible band-aid for those problems : having several events that do the same crucial) things, so they can act as backups for one another.
Glad this problem didn't ruin your opinion of the map.
I didn't experience many bugs, but there was one game-breaking one on hole 14 where, after I entered the tunnel, I became blind. I never got my vision back, and pressing both F and R didn't bring it back. I guess an event didn't get triggered when it should have? But other than that, everything seemed fine to me.
then the last hole i took the +2 opportunity and somehow landed badly. so it jumped me all the way back up through the same portal which got me +2 but ending up in the same location.
those were the two bugs i remember as of now
hope that helps!
for example last hole some people got stuck
also on the hole where you first submerge. If you don't make it to save ground below the sea, and get reset, you cant get below water again
Also didn't like the floor & the last hole.
Last night I played around with post-processing a bit, might use it in a winter map hehe, thank you! I'll keep playing around and see what effects I can create when I mix them.
The post-processing for underwater is a combination of 3 effects : "frost", "alcohol" and "infected" (you have to tweak their values to tune them down).
Post processing volumes also offer color manipulation options, so also use : Underwater color scheme+a blue color tint.
It's a bit complicated if you're not familiar with video editing. But if you are, you should figure this out pretty quickly.
tbh I haven't played around with post-processing too much, I'm lazy haha.
How'd you do the underwater gameplay / low gravity if you want to sharet?
A lot of the tricks are based on post-processing effects. it would be long to explain everything but here's one : there is a post-processing effect called "letterboxing", and if you edit its values, you can force the screen to turn black.
And while the screen is black, you can use "transform" on the player's ball to move it somewhere else. This create those very natural transitions between two scenes, and it enabled many of the things I did in this map. :)
Underwater mechanics are very cool. Enjoyed the cutscenes!
I have zero idea how you did some of these things and I spent some time in the editor myself.
At the escape part I found the shaking to be a bit too intense maybe, but other than that I have no feedback.
Truly great map.
