Hm, okay.
A Nickel  [author] 11 Jul, 2023 @ 8:14am
It might, you can pair this with one of the many mods that allows dwarves to properly handle large weapons like that.
MangoCobra 6 Jul, 2023 @ 8:21pm
Would this cause dwarves trained in Pike to spawn? They're basically useless, sadly b/c they can't wield Pikes.
A Nickel  [author] 23 Feb, 2023 @ 4:31pm
Not included in this mod, there's a few on the workshop!
Violence Enjoyer 23 Feb, 2023 @ 2:21pm
what about the foreign armors?
Dr. Necessiter 27 Jan, 2023 @ 12:25pm
@Maxdoom18, see if this works for you! And big thanks to A Nickel for helping me figure it out.

Exotic Clothing
A Nickel  [author] 26 Jan, 2023 @ 11:05am
Only weapons!
Maxdoom18 26 Jan, 2023 @ 1:21am
Does it include foreign clothing such as turbans and whatever?
A Nickel  [author] 19 Jan, 2023 @ 11:14am
@chumprock
Try setting them to be FORCED instead of common, I believe COMMON means that there is a chance the civilization doesn't start with them.
Dr. Necessiter 19 Jan, 2023 @ 11:09am
Yes, thanks for explaining and clogging up your comments.. its something buggy/syntax, because I just created a new world after installing your mod and my clothier now has most of the items I specified available.

Some (like turbans) are still missing though, and not sure why.

This is my list of helms:

[HELM:ITEM_HELM_HELM:COMMON]
[HELM:ITEM_HELM_CAP:COMMON]
[HELM:ITEM_HELM_HOOD:COMMON]
[HELM:ITEM_HELM_TURBAN:COMMON]
[HELM:ITEM_HELM_VEIL_HEAD:COMMON]
[HELM:ITEM_HELM_SCARF_HEAD:COMMON]

I can see the head veil at the clothier now, but not the turban.
I think I'll make a discussion/reddit post about it, but I appreciate you taking the time (and making scimitars available!)
A Nickel  [author] 19 Jan, 2023 @ 10:42am
I don't believe you'll need to add workshop reactions for the following, because they are already vanilla content that can be created by civilizations.
A Nickel  [author] 19 Jan, 2023 @ 10:41am
This seems to be the relevant portions of the changes.

[ARMOR:ITEM_ARMOR_BREASTPLATE:FORCED]
[ARMOR:ITEM_ARMOR_MAIL_SHIRT:FORCED]
[ARMOR:ITEM_ARMOR_LEATHER:FORCED]
[ARMOR:ITEM_ARMOR_COAT:FORCED]
[ARMOR:ITEM_ARMOR_SHIRT:FORCED]
[ARMOR:ITEM_ARMOR_CLOAK:FORCED]
[ARMOR:ITEM_ARMOR_TUNIC:FORCED]
[ARMOR:ITEM_ARMOR_TOGA:FORCED]
[ARMOR:ITEM_ARMOR_CAPE:FORCED]
[ARMOR:ITEM_ARMOR_VEST:FORCED]
[ARMOR:ITEM_ARMOR_DRESS:FORCED]
[ARMOR:ITEM_ARMOR_ROBE:FORCED]
[HELM:ITEM_HELM_HELM:FORCED]
[HELM:ITEM_HELM_CAP:FORCED]

etc

I'm almost positive this mod in particular unlocks clothing entirely, look through the files for it and you should be able to publish your own mod using the clothing part you want. :)
Dr. Necessiter 19 Jan, 2023 @ 10:14am
Hey, thanks for the quick reply! I cant seem to find a foreign clothing mod anywhere though. :steamsad:

I thought I had it figured out when I edited the entity file but you need to also modify the workshops and I haven't figured that part out.
A Nickel  [author] 19 Jan, 2023 @ 10:10am
Yes there is, and there's a few of those mods already out on the workshop!
Dr. Necessiter 19 Jan, 2023 @ 9:57am
Would there be a similar way to mod clothing so I can wear thongs and turbans?
Tamren 7 Jan, 2023 @ 9:03pm
Alright thanks.

This mod will make them properly able to be equipped.
A Nickel  [author] 7 Jan, 2023 @ 9:02pm
Weapons are universally sized, so no specific fits for specific races. There's likely still a bug that has been around a long time that prevents dwarves from using some of these unlocked weapons properly, so peek around on the workshop and see if you can find a fix for it there.
Tamren 7 Jan, 2023 @ 6:58pm
Cool mod! Are these weapons automatically sized for dwarves the way clothing and armour is?
A Nickel  [author] 1 Jan, 2023 @ 11:45am
This only covers weapons, there's other mods to unlock all armor/clothing.
LordFengo 1 Jan, 2023 @ 11:27am
what about capes?
Ahlos 13 Dec, 2022 @ 9:50pm
i dont know what was wrong, but now works and show the craftable items again so. Have no idea, not played since your update either.

And no, only mod i have is icons for new labors. No other mods atm.
A Nickel  [author] 13 Dec, 2022 @ 6:21pm
This should now be compatible with other mods that touch entity_default.txt
A Nickel  [author] 13 Dec, 2022 @ 3:06pm
Are you mixing with other mods that edit entities? I'm going to fix that soon so you can mix and match this with other mods like that.
Ahlos 13 Dec, 2022 @ 10:23am
Dont know whats wrong now, this mod been working all the time, but now on my new world, "yes selected the mods before generation", i dont see any of the craftable weapons, no bows etc.

Have not tried since update last night with smithing and such, but is it the update or something else wrong?
A Nickel  [author] 12 Dec, 2022 @ 6:21pm
@Deon
Shoot me a friend request and explain it real quick, or just paste the RAW and send me a link to it and I can get that done for you. I'm not familiar with the new way modding is handled in the Steam version so I'm unaware of what you're referring to.
Deon ☣ 12 Dec, 2022 @ 5:02pm
Greetings. I've noticed that you've simply replaced the whole MOUNTAIN entity. Unfortunately it makes it incompatible with any mods that also replace MOUNTAIN entity, such as my total conversion.

Could you kindly change the method to instead [SELECT_ENTITY:MOUNTAIN], and then add [WEAPON:XXX] to that? That would make your mod work with any other that change mountain.

Thank you!
A Nickel  [author] 12 Dec, 2022 @ 11:26am
Yes, you can craft arrows and blowdarts, I don't know if this works with other weapon mods.
No Guts No Glory 12 Dec, 2022 @ 11:15am
Does it allow to craft arrows and blowdarts?
tylertylertyler333 12 Dec, 2022 @ 1:47am
does it work with other weapon mods?
A Nickel  [author] 9 Dec, 2022 @ 12:57pm
That was kind of my concept with it too, you could have be the arms dealer dwarves providing weapons to all the factions.
Realm 9 Dec, 2022 @ 12:33pm
I like it! Even if my dwarves can't use them all, it's a bit of a flavourful idea for them to produce such equipment for export or non-dwarf citizens.
Maximum Broly! 8 Dec, 2022 @ 8:14am
Ty. Halberds seem a very "dwarfy" weapon to me and it saddens me that they can't make them by default. :(
I_Sicarius_I 7 Dec, 2022 @ 5:43pm
For example a perfectly normal sized dwarf is 60000 size. Most large weapons require 62500 or more.
I_Sicarius_I 7 Dec, 2022 @ 5:40pm
It isnt a bug that dwarves cant use large weapons, its based on size. You can either change the sizes or add dwarf sized 2handed weapons. Very large dwarves can indeed wield them though.
A Nickel  [author] 7 Dec, 2022 @ 8:25am
Don't know if Toady fixed that bug yet, regardless, it is still nice to be able to make this equipment!
JonBolds 7 Dec, 2022 @ 8:16am
@Hue probably does not fix the bug where dwarfs can't use two-handed swords/axes, pikes, etc. though... if that bug is still around?
Cywyddwyr 7 Dec, 2022 @ 8:11am
@Hue they already could wield them normally if you got via trade or something, the military equipment screen has them incorporated in vanilla.
Hue 6 Dec, 2022 @ 11:40pm
Does this also allow the dwarves to wield them, i.e. normal weapons instead of foreign weapons?
A Nickel  [author] 6 Dec, 2022 @ 9:22pm
The mod should actually work now, sorry about that, I was still learning the file structures! As with all Dwarf Fortress mods, you need to create a new world to have the effects.
