This is a ton of fun and really well made. One issue - in Keyes, the captain's flood form model has no collision. I can walk right through it after the cutscene.

It could be just on my end with the missions being too dark, I don't know but I haven't had this issue while playing combat evolved

Having a fully functional energy sword is the best part of this mod, keep up the great work! I have one piece of advice though - the enemies are very difficult to see without the night vision turned on, could you consider making their armors lighter or adjusting the lighting?

Genuinely felt like I was playing Halo CE for the first time. ODST lighting adds a lot of atmosphere to the T&R & Keyes levels. 343's anniversary ruined the atmosphere by brightening the entire game too much. Great mod, would love to see more CE levels make it in.

Now this, right here, is what Halo Anniversary tried to be. I can tell you put a lot of time and love into this. Its apparent in the painstaking detail in recreating each part of the levels I've seen thus far. You've managed to put out something better than 343 has, not that its a high bar, but you've done wonderfully.

Thank you for this and please take your time, this work is worth the wait and I appreciate all the work you've done to recreate my childhood.

I personally have the gamma for all my games set to 7. I dunno why 6 would be recommended when 7 looks fine to me

Random question; the recommended 6 for gamma... is that also recommended for classic graphics Halo CE and 2? Always found it difficult to find a "correct" universal brightness in MCC.

an unfinished, yet a very well done mod. it's just two missions but i enjoyed every bit of it. this mod could be one of the best mods for CE if it wasn't unfinished. keep up the good work!

Do you think you'll switch the character models for the covenant to the CE remastered versions that someone made for a halo 3 mod? I think it'd be pretty cool if you were able to use those. Nothing wrong with 3's artstyle it's my favorite but It'd definitely be cool to see.

Hey do you plan to add more cut content, or no? Also when it comes to snow and ice, do you plan to make the ice effect the vehicles like in original ce? In terms of weapons too, I assume you plan to keep only the original ce weapons. I do have a suggestion though, I think you should make shade turrets able to blow up since everything else kinda does now. I'd like to help, but I have no idea how to mod or anything. Love the mod so far though!

Yeah, I think The library is the only "original" level in Halo CE, and we all know how that turned out to be.

Technically the Silent Cartographer is also an original level that isn't reused later. But I'm not if I would count that one since Bungie have always said they just recycled a test map they already did for trying out the game's mechanics and gameplay during CE's early stages of development. Similar to Dark Souls' Painted World of Ariamis, which is just the first test map they made that they decided to keep.

I'm doing missions such as T&R and Keyes first because I can make the geometry for one and reuse it for the next, same thing with PoA/The Maw right now and AOtCR/TB later

A VSIR for the Chief is a funny idea. I like that. ^^
But why the most annoying mission?
Why not "the silent catograph" or simple the first two missions?
Are the cutscenes the reason?

Although, I do applaud Saber Interactive for somehow being able to integrate Co-Op and online into the campaign of Halo CE despite using the Gearbox PC port as a base. Which is something that modders and the community tried to implement for almost 2 decades and just never could.

But now that the PC version is back on Steam, and with Co-Op, a lot of modders have completely abandoned Halo Custom Edition to begin working solely on the MCC as they finally have access to seamless Co-Op on their mods, but also the ability to post them into the Workshop so that people can play their creations with just 1 click.

And that's only a thing recently. As Halo CE Anniversary and the MCC portion of the remaster were made using the horrible PC port made by Gearbox, with broken and missing effects, as well as just using beta textures and beta models for some reason when switching to the """Original""" graphics, not to mention that Halo CE Anniversary when it launched on Xbox 360 it used to take 3 to 5 seconds to change between graphics and had a blinding fade into white everytime you tried to switch.

But thankfully 343i overhauled the entire Halo CE port on the MCC around 3 years ago to try and make it look as good as it did on the original Xbox. Which means that for almost 2 decades, people played an inferior version of the "original" Halo CE without realizing it was just the awful PC port.

Plus Freya pretty much said it best. Halo CEA is flawed. We were hoping that modding tools would be released for the anniversary-side of CE so that at least the community can fix the mistakes 343i did for CEA. Mainly fixing the artstyle and aesthetics that CEA missed on.
Next best thing is to rebuild CE in another engine, mainly Halo 3's.

One of the good things CEA did is simply having two graphics engines running on top of each other where you can seamlessly switch in-between. Its always a treat to see a remaster utilize this tech.

At least the remastered audio is pretty good.

The official remake of Halo CE was made in 4 months by Saber Interactive in 2011 to be on part with Halo's 10th anniversary. And is absolutely shit and there is nothing good about it. From taking assets from both Halo Reach & Halo 3 and mixing them together despite having completely different artstyles, to replacing the original animations with some bad mo-cap on the same level as the movie "Food Fight".

Or also the horrible new lighting and over saturation, the awful "modern textures" that makes all the forerunner tech and enviorment to look like Michael Bay's Transformers. Or the fact that it is unfinished, with lots of visual erros, unfinished areas and models/props that don't even align with the base game.

Actually though this is really freaking good work. Played it with some buddies and felt so good getting to play essentially CE in more than 2 players. Definitely give it a try random person sussing the comments to see if the mods any good. Also favourite it to follow along if more levels drop!
